The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die | Harmlessness; (white & violet swirl, /500). I finally have this record in my hands. Beautiful and triumphant in TWIABP's typical greatness, Harmlessness covers a whole lot of ground in terms of content: good and evil; the monstrosity of female predation; the death of a friend's dog; mental health; depression; acceptance; recovery; home; mortality; etc., and yet express and present these topics in a way that is incredibly uplifting, (and also very original). They also cover a lot of ground sonically. I mean, these instrumentals are easily the best I've heard all year, and honestly their best work, (also, fantastic production on this thing.) I can't forget to mention the awesome self-referential lyrics in The Word Lisa and Ra Patera Dance; these creative additions make these two of my favorite songs. As far as openers and closers go, You Can't Live There Forever and Mount Hum *deliver*. This is everything from their second LP that I wanted, and more. Even better, this album grows on you more and more with each listen. They are absolutely the best band writing music today in my opinion. Whenever, If Ever is my favorite album of all time, but this might just be better objectively speaking. It's not just an experience- it's a journey. Album of the Year.
