The image used in the background of the Gravity Falls logo HAS BEEN FOUND!!

It's located in France!!

I made a thread on Twitter explaining the full story and how I even asked Ian Worrel and Alex Hirsch about it, but lemme run down quickly how it was found and where it is!

After 3 years of searching with some friends on and off, we had no real luck. I've been working on a video about it for a while but decided to try one more time. My friend @trickengf suggested looking at international logos as they may have more of the image available and sure enough...we found logos like the Japanese and Russian GF logo had more visible detail of the image.

From that, Tricken made a remake of the image and used it to find it. He ended up finding the source at about 3AM for me, lol!

My friend Fried Oreos then confirmed the image was old enough to fit the criteria of pre GF pilot, by determining the image was on the Textures website it was sourced from since 2008!

Then, my friend Alex M managed to buy the HD image and we were able to analyze its metadata for more info!

Turns out, the image, called "LandscapeMountains0009," was taken by a Nikon D70 camera on April 18, 2007!

THE GRAVITY FALLS LOGO IMAGE IS ALMOST 18 YEARS OLD!!

From there, we began looking for the location. The meta data had no location, but other images taken around the same time showed signs of maybe the location being in Europe.

After over a day of searching, Tricken, Alex M and Oreos FOUND IT!!

The location of the image is a mountain range near the town of Sers, France...near the border with Spain.

Exact coordinates of the closest viewable angle of the image is 42°54'23.2"N 0°06'05.6"E

This is a major discovery and one I cannot believe we did. While this search was started by me in 2021 with some friends, it was TrickenGF, Alex M and Fried Oreos who deserve all the credit for this discovery! They were the geniuses who tracked all of this down and were able to connect the dots to get to this point.

You guys are amazing and I am beyond grateful for all of this.

Finding this image means that fans can now recreate the Gravity Falls logo as they want with anything they want. For example, Tricken made this for me using the image :D

For 12 years as we looked at the Gravity Falls logo...we were in reality looking at a mountain in France...NOT Oregon!

So, I guess this is a major W for France but sorry, Pacific Northwest, Gravity Falls is actually French, lol!

Imagine Bill got fed up with Ford getting distracted by his crush on Fiddleford one day and decided to absolutely crush him in order to isolate him.

He'd harshly shame him for his feelings, using society's homophobic views from that time to his advantage and gaslighting him by telling him that Fiddleford would be disgusted if he confessed and that he would leave back to his home to his wife and tell her what a disgusting thing he is.

Word would then get out one way or another, even to this small town. Everyone would judge and mock him for it. Maybe throw stones through his windows or call him slurs behind his back. Or worse. To his face.

Then no one would ever respect him no matter what he achieves, no matter what he does, or discovers. Because he'll just be one of 'those people.'

People's view on his work will be skewed forever. That one simple aspect of who he is will determine whether he'll be seen as an admired genius or a complete joke of a man who will be given no time of day in the history books. Even his own father would find him deplorable if he saw him now.

Bill would tell him he can't trust anybody because of how awful and cruel this world is but... he can trust him. Because Bill isn't like 'them'. He'll accept Ford as he is, as Ford's own gracious and loyal, pure of heart muse.

He'd tell Ford to entirely focus on him instead and stop paying any attention to those cruel humans who will never love him like he does. So unconditionally...

And Ford, being the hopeless man Bill knows he is, would agree.

Imagine Fiddleford and Ford being together and being all adorable and healthy then Bill sees this and wants so badly to be in on the relationship that he just without warning starts trying to be really romantic with them. But Fiddleford is completely creeped out by his advances while Ford is confused and thinks it's all platonic.

It's not at all what Bill wanted and it embarrasses him so much that he stops trying that and instead starts trying to tear down their relationship out of bitterness.

He has to get them to stop loving each other because seeing them together without him makes him feel unwanted and worthless. (he takes it extremely personally) It feels like they're mocking him. He can practically hear them laughing at his desperation to feel loved in his nightmares.

Okay wait guys consider: Fiddleford and Stan being together but Stan SOMEHOW had been tricking him this whole time into thinking he's actually Ford and after Fiddleford finally finds out, he angrily breaks up with him and gets together with real Ford

...but he still loves Stan and keeps coming back to him and has hate sex with him AKA he cheats heavily on Ford. Emotionally, physically. The whole shebang.

Stan wasn't going to agree to do anything with Fiddleford out of respect for Ford but after Ford treated him like shit after all he did for him? That respect went out the window.
