kill the cop that you created to live in your head 24/7 as some sort of self-imposed thought police. thought crimes aren’t real, and intrusive thoughts aren’t automatically a reflection of your actual thoughts and opinions. they’re called intrusive for a reason, and they do not make you a bad person

If you're willing to leave the indoctrination, that's a good thing. I and other people harmed by indoctrination may be a bit slower to forgive, but you'll ultimately fit in somewhere good.

It's worse if you stay with the indoctrination while not agreeing with it. Then you would deserve some of the blame for what they did

i think we should extend a little more grace to people who were indoctrinated who have realized their way of thinking is wrong/harmful/problematic and are now doing the work to unlearn large portions of their belief system

I ended up going the other way and hating apple because of the above, how fenced in it makes me since you can only use apple specific stuff for software for one thing, and for another: you can't repair Apple products second hand. Plus, it's insanely expensive.
