I think every computer user needs to read this because holy fucking shit this is fucking horrible.

So Windows has a new feature incoming called Recall where your computer will first, monitor everything you do with screenshots every couple of seconds and "process that" with an AI.

Hey, errrr, fuck no? This isn't merely because AI is really energy intensive to the point that it causes environmental damage. This is because it's basically surveilling what you are doing on your fucking desktop.

This AI is not going to be on your desktop, like all AI, it's going to be done on another server, "in the cloud" to be precise, so all those data and screenshot? They're going to go off to Microsoft. Microsoft are going to be monitoring what you do on your own computer.

Now of course Microsoft are going to be all "oooh, it's okay, we'll keep your data safe". They won't. Let me just remind you that evidence given over from Facebook has been used to prosecute a mother and daughter for an "illegal abortion", Microsoft will likely do the same.

And before someone goes "durrr, nuthin' to fear, nuthin to hide", let me remind you that you can be doing completely legal and righteous acts and still have the police on your arse. Are you an activist? Don't even need to be a hackivist, you can just be very vocal about something concerning and have the fucking police on your arse. They did this with environmental protesters in the UK. The culture war against transgender people looks likely to be heading in a direction wherein people looking for information on transgender people or help transitioning will be tracked down too. You have plenty to hide from the government, including your opinions and ideas.

Again, look into backing up your shit and switching to Linux Mint or Ubuntu to get away from Microsoft doing this shit.

An odd connection between Undyne the Undying and genocide Chara

There is something slightly intriguing about Undyne's genocide speech, before she transforms.

Some of the things it says seem... far too accurate compared to the things that Undyne is supposed to be able to know.

While it is not that crazy to think that Undyne would imagine the human would be willing to bring harm to humanity as well, something about the way she says it already feels slightly off.

Undyne speaks as if they would all be killed, although there are far too many humans & monsters for the human to be able to kill everyone by themself individually, even if given the rest of their life to do so.

But most importantly, she says that they would all be killed in an instant. That somehow, all of humans and monsters would be destroyed at once if the human ever got past her. Not in a slow murderous grind like what they had been doing thus far, but rather in a single moment of destruction that would bring an end to the whole world at once.

She seems quite certain about all this, too.

While one could put all of this on her love for anime and/or dramatic speeches, that doesn't really seem to be all there is to it because, as little sense as this should make, she's actually completely right about everything she just said !

Firstly, the way Chara speaks at the end of the route fits a little too well with Undyne's few first lines about the human achieving absolute destruction.

But most of all, Chara does eventually destroy the world in a single blow. Bringing upon the end of humans and surviving monsters alike in an instant, just as Undyne had suggested.

Even this line could be seen as a kind of reference if you stretch it a little...

The thing is, from an in-world perspective, there is no simply no way that Undyne could have been talking to Chara here or that she would have known what was going to happen.

Unlike Sans, who did actually have some information about an incoming timeline erasure, she simply didn't know that much about the situation and shouldn't have been able to say all of that with any sort of certainty.

Yet her guess was just far too accurate and confident to be a coincidence... Right ?

Well, one might consider it might be possible for it to be just some kind of foreshadowing without real meaning. For instance, other monsters also make comments on a certain lack of humanity in genocide.

But what makes this even more interesting and unique is that the references go both ways !

Once the world is destroyed, just as Undyne had said, whilst waiting for Chara, we can hear the wind howling over a black screen.

This wouldn't be much of a detail to be concerned about if it wasn't for the fact that :

This noise is also exactly what the narrator (also heavily theorised to be Chara !), describes when fighting, well, Undyne the undying herself.

It seems like this strangely accurate reference to the ending of the route gets sent right back towards Undyne as soon as it reveals itself to have been true.

Whilst Sans, who had also made a similar guess, doesn't get this kind of treatment...

In sum, the scenes of the battle against the Undying and Chara's destruction of the world both seem to make specific back and forth references to each other in a way that lacks a proper in-world explanation.

Although, it also seems strongly possible that this whole thing might just be a wink to the fact that the game already makes plenty of connections and parallels between Undyne and Chara's characters, opinions, likings and personalities. So this may just be another way to outline how connected these two characters are.

It’s easy to get distracted by Sans’ puns, given how the game even highlights and zooms in on him when he delivers them: “skele-ton” and “down to the bone.” However, Papyrus makes two puns of his own: “YOU LAZYBONES!!” and “PUT A LITTLE MORE, "BACKBONE“ INTO IT!!!!”

Lately I've been seeing this weird small but growing sentiment across Twitter and Tumblr that Tangle is being held back by her constant partnership with Whisper and she'd be better off on her own/with Sonic and co. That they should be separated. I'd like to establish that I do have a bias as I ship them, however I don't even think that's relevant to the point I'm about to make because it's been written so clearly in this comic. But to put it simply:

Tangle wants Whisper at her side.

My friend Wynne put it more eloquently in their post, but this revelation became more clear in the Trial by Fire arc. Yes it's true, Tangle is pretty versatile and she gets along with pretty much anyone that you throw at her. When we're first introduced to her, we see a joyous and bright character who is longing for a free adventurous life, and this desire is only heightened after her first encounter with Sonic and Blaze. I think because of this, a lot of people are quick to compare her directly to Sonic, which is a mistake.

Tangle is a lot more in tune with her emotions and heart than Sonic is. She allows herself to get more attached to people. She also still has a desire for a constant familiarity. She gets homesick. She slogged by her monotonous Restoration job because she wanted to stay close to Jewel. Whisper went off on her own and she couldn't cope with it very well.

Tangle can do whatever she wants. She has the abilities and social skills to go out into the world and thrive. However everything changed when she met Whisper. They weren't created to be a duo, but things progressed so organically between them you'd think that they were. With Trial by Fire, we see that ultimately she decided that she wants to travel with Whisper by her side. This isn't a case of constantly being forced together by circumstance. Reviving the Diamond Cutters was an idea SHE came up with to strengthen their bond, and going forward, they will likely still be synonymous with each other

To echo Wynne's statements; Tangle and Whisper fill in each other's gaps. Tangle if left to her own devices, would realistically be pretty aimless, and Whisper would only continue to live clouded in darkness. So yes, they need each other. Tangle realizes this at least and she wants it.

This is kind of another tangent that I wont go too deep into, but something I think gets downplayed a lot, even by other Tangle fans, is her emotional intelligence. Yes she's a bit silly, hyperactive and impulsive on the surface, but when it comes to her own and others' feelings, listening and getting to the bottom of these things, it's a strength just as powerful as her physical abilities.

I got really inspired and motivated by @starrjoy and their sonic fancomics regularly coming out with multi-page updates so I challenged myself to color a full page within one day. It was REALLY HARD.

This is an adaptation of the origin story for Sonic and Robotnik from Fleetway's Sonic the Comic, which I always liked because of its major Angst Potential. I'll see if I get around to making more pages of my take on this concept.
