hello hello ! just a quick little update ! ! as of right now , i simply do not have the brain power to be on a multi - muse blog. as awesome as they are , my mind just hasn’t been able to keep up with it , and not being able to settle on a good aesthetic &. theme for graphics hasn’t helped me with wanting to be active here. for the meantime , i’ve been over on @heartsthaw , and being able to focus on one character , one theme , etc. has helped me so much. i do have h.otd , a.cotar , and other similar verses in the works if you’d like to still write with me over there. otherwise , i am always available to write on discord ( feel free to add me at dreadtroves ) and it’s much easier for me to keep up with multiple characters / threads there without dealing with tumblr formatting.

anywho , that’s all ! for now , this blog is on an indefinite hiatus , but i hope to write with you all elsewhere or in the future. <3

arbor red wine has allowed for a comfortable warmth to settle within his blood , a welcome distraction from the voices that drone on around him. he hardly pays them mind anymore ; he does not particularly like the way they all seem to exchange knowing looks with one another whenever he speaks , as if silently mocking him , laughing at him. they do not truly listen to him despite the conqueror's crown sitting upon silver tendrils , so he often finds himself drifting off into his own thoughts while they discuss matters amongst themselves.

a tugging at his sleeve is what draws him back from his thoughts , and his hand nearly raises in what might be a strike because who the fuck is tugging on the king's sleeve when his eyes land on mirroring pools of violet , her head tipped slightly to the side in a way that is so utterly childish that it draws forth an unwanted , almost heavy emotion he doesn't care to examine.

jaehaera was a tiny thing when she came into the world , weeping and wailing as if she had already felt the burden that would be settled on her shoulders. he remembers fearing he would drop her and she would shatter into thousands of jagged pieces , another thing broken by his careless hands. he remembers the first time she had smiled at him too , a single tooth visible from where it had begun protruding from her gums. she was . . soft , all childish innocence , and carefree in a way he longed to be once more. in that moment , he thinks he understood his father's own favoritism towards rhaenyra ⸻ finally understood why his mother had only ever looked upon him with disgust and showed him a mother's love through the sting of her strikes , whereas she'd cradled helaena as though she were something precious , something too good for the world. he understood , and it terrified him. he found himself wanting to see less of her after that.

he blinks down at her once , twice. it is the first time he has truly looked at her in longer than he can remember. she is growing into her mother's features at an almost rapid rate , and it makes him uncomfortable in a way he doesn't quite understand. she has his nose , though , and the realization makes the smallest hint of a smile tug at the corners of his lips. he seems to process her request almost belatedly , too swept up in his own thoughts and the pleasant buzz of the wine.

HE ALMOST WANTS TO REFUSE. THE SMALL COUNCIL CHAMBER IS NO PLACE FOR A LADY , A CHILD NONETHELESS , BUT HOW CAN HE POSSIBLY DENY HER ?

“ i do believe the princess has expressed her desire to sit at the table , ” is all he says as his head suddenly shoots up to look at the lords expectantly. they stare back at him for a moment , seemingly shocked by his decision to indulge such a request. he does not look nearly amused as they do. “ it would be unwise to make her wait. ”

within seconds , there's frantic shuffling and scuffing of boots on the floor. his own chair scrapes on the ground as he scoots over slightly , making room for the second chair that's brought to the head of the table , directly at his side. only then does his gaze return to his daughter , something softer in their depths , a softness that is so rarely present. his movements are still awkward though , even as he rises from his own seat to offer a helping hand for her to climb into the chair. he pushes it a bit closer to the table once she's seated before he settles into his own once more. he turns to look at her , hesitating for a moment before clearing his throat and managing to ask , almost as an afterthought , “ cozy ? ”

( if she went to him, would he accept her company ? would it be accepted with him as king ? the little princess did not know, but her feet move on their own. her knight & caretaker maid rushing after her. telling her to stop, to not go inside the council chamber. yet, she does anyways. ) her head of silver hair is hardly seen over the tall table, feet taking her to the head where she tugs on aegon's shirt sleeve. ❛ kepa. ❜ she calls softly, ❛ may i ... sit at the table ? ... with you ? ❜
