i miss my joan lowk ... my weirdo slimy girl with nothing but contempt for humanity behind her eyes. her taking men into her heart that she sees as weak, that she sees as replacements, if not just potential replacements, for her estranged brother who had left town and completely cut off contact from her as soon as he could. he'd always been so afraid of her when they were kids. she was so possessive and clung onto him, and if he refused to play with her, he'd always been afraid of how she might react. in her mind, he was always the one other child who played with her and listened to her, and she spends her life trying to recreate that feeling with the men she takes. the moment they break character, the moment they stop acting the way she pictures them in her head, they're done. they're sent to her shed and dehumanized and broken down and tortured, and once she's had her fun, she sends them off running outside her home. her home being a small cabin out in the woods, impossible to navigate through and into town if you don't know the area, and even harder when it's dark and joan sends you out there. she leaves the promise of, if you make it out of the woods before i get to you, you're home free. they never get very far before her trusty bloodhound, shelby, catches them and barks for joan to come and take them out with her lucky shotgun.
