A new study suggests that Anna's Hummingbirds in the western United States are not only keeping up with human influence on their habitat, they're thriving. According to a recent study in Global Change Biology, a journal focused on environmental change, the use and prevalence of hummingbird feeders — like those red and clear plastic ones filled with homemade sugar water — changed the size and shape of the birds' beaks. The range of the hummingbird also spread from the southern part of California all the way up the West coast into Canada.

World Eel Day is a day for appreciating and celebrating eels! There’s a specific focus on the critically endangered European Eel, but other eel species can be appreciated too of course! Participate by making art, songs, poems, writing, anything really, even just thinking or talking about eels counts! Go get eelin’ it up ✨

Perhaps one of the biggest fish tragedies of all time is that tunas, the large, fast, powerful apex predators of the open ocean that have evolved to be perfectly hydrodynamic thanks to millions of years of evolution, with fins that can be retracted into grooves in the body for maximum smoothness, which can heat up their swimming muscles and brains and eyes to become even more efficient hunters, who are in fact several species of fish, the largest of which (Atlantic bluefin) can reach four meters in length and rivals the marlins in being the largest perciform fish.....

....are just kinda known as a food item by most people. Like cod, this animal should be a symbol of raw power and speed, not fish dinner time

"The forests spawned me." Says the salmon. "They sent me to the ocean to grow. When I am fat with the bounty of the ocean, I will bring it home."

"Why would the forests seek the bounty of the oceans?" Asks the whale. "They have bounty of their own."

"You forget," says the salmon, "That the oceans were once their home."

They're a Geometric, "Banana" and Ribbon Moray Eels from left to right and they have 0 braincells combined 👍🏼

In water they breathe like eels do which is passing water through their gills by swallowing constantly, and outside they use lungs via the holes in their chest (kinda like ikran do in avatar)
