A Lychee Shield Bug.
Part of the jewel bugs family.
Saw this cool lychee shield bug today - it's part of the jewel bug family and you can see why with those shiny colors. Fun fact: not everything we call a "bug" is actually a true bug. "True bugs" are part of the Hemiptera order. True bugs have piercing-sucking mouthparts and incomplete metamorphosis, unlike beetles, flies, or butterflies.. I learned this in an elective class about insects during my masters that literally no one wanted to take as their first choice except me. Everyone thought it would be boring but I actually found it really interesting how much diversity there is in what we just casually call "bugs." These jewel bugs are pretty underrated - they're like tiny living gems.
If you swipe to the end, you can see one chilling with a bunch of orange coloured fungus and also a tiny baby bug at the end

you went past "chubby" about 130 pounds ago
Can't tell if you mean this in the insulting way or in the gainer/encourager way.
Either way, you're rude and you can fuck off.

It took me forever to work on in short bursts while still injured, but sometimes and idea just sinks its teeth into you and won't let go. 🦁
