#likeâŠ.okay. okay. this is one of my absolute favorite scenes out of the entire film #iâve posted about this before but GOD zack taylor bravely confesses his love in this little moment between the four of them and it just. #it breaks my heart. because for starters itâs so in character? zack taylor is canonically impulsive and reckless and risk-taking. #he doesnât always think things through. he acts first and thinks later. itâs part of the whole parkour persona heâs got going on. #so of course in this moment (when heâs feeling anguish/desperation about losing billy) he realizes and says aloud what heâs thinking #âbilly probably did die for us. i would too if i could.â justâŠhe just says it. you hear a little hesitation in ludiâs delivery (SO GOOD) #but he just flat out tells them he would trade his life for theirs after knowing them what. ten days? god. zack has fallen so hard. #jason mightve been the one to deliver the sad speech about wanting to trade places with him but itâs zack who steals the show imo #imagine loving someone so much that youâd trade your life for theirs? THEN MULTIPLY THAT BY FOUR #thatâs what zack does. he drops the âi love youâ bomb. âthere are a million different ways to say i love you. you just have to listen.â #I CANT GET OVER THIS LIKE I CANNOT EVER GET OVER THIS zack who had NO ONE BUT HIS MOM two weeks before #is now prepared to give up everything in order to keep these people he loves (l o v e s) safe.

I still feel like this is one of my best pieces đ gunna repost it but rest assured! I am working on a new piece right now! Itâll be multiple parts outlining my little spin on what happened in the 11 days that it took for the rangers to become a team. Look out for the tag #11days for more! Already got that intro up đđ»
Departure (Mrs. Taylorâs Death + Jason x Zack)
Prompt:Â After reading âthe sixth warriorâ I was wondering what would happen when Zackâs mom dies. (Bonus points if there is JasonxZack)
Authorâs Note:Â I am so sorry this took so long. I didnât even get everything I wanted in. Anyways, I hope you guys pay attention to this one in particular. Sorry for the crappy writing and transitions.
Part 1: My Five Warriors
Part 2: My Sixth Warrior
THIS IS THE FINAL PART. THESE ARE SO DIFFICULT TO WRITE CUZ FEELS BRUH.
ALSO! I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU GUYS SUBMITTED ILLUSTRATIONS FOR THIS FANFIC! I THINK IT WOULD MAKE IT MUCH BETTER.
As usual, Zack sat atop the abandoned train car in the mines. He looked out at Angel Grove, realizing that he had never hated anything as much as he did at that moment. He just sat there and stared, not wanting to move, think, or even breath anymore, but he wasnât going to cry. Not now.
âHey.â
Zack didnât move, but he responded. âHey! What are you doing here, Red?â Zack tried to keep his voice upbeat and insane as he always did.
Jason didnât respond, nor did he move. The two of them kept their positions in silence for what seemed like months.Â
âYou know why Iâm here,â Jason sighed.
âRightâŠâÂ
Again, silence dominated. Without saying anything, Jason jumped onto the car and sat beside Zack, shoulders against each other. It wasnât much, but Zack could feel that Jason was really trying. That within itself comforted Zack a bit.
Neither of the boys made a move. They sat there and stared in comfortable silence. Everything seemed stagnant. For hours, thatâs what the two of them did.
When the sky began darkening, Jason cleared his throat. âHave you eaten?â
Zack raised an eyebrow, not looking at Jason. âWeâve been sitting together for hours. What do you think?â
Jason flushed and scratched the back of his head. âRight.â
And again, with the silence. âDonuts?â
Zack shook his head. âNot hungry.â He threw in a smile for the heck of it.
âAlright.â
Finally, the sky turned navy, revealing a bright moon, and still, Jason sat with Zack. He still wasnât going to cry though. Not now.
âDo you want to go to sleep?â
Zack didnât feel tired, and he didnât respond, assuming that keeping his mouth shut was response enough.
âWhen was the last time you ate? Or slept?â
Zack huffed and smiled at Jason. It was the first time he looked at the red ranger during this entire encounter. For both the boys, it revealed dark circles and pale skin. Zack was shocked at how Jason looked, but Jason wasnât at all surprised at how Zack looked.
âWhen was the last time you did either of those things?â Zack shot back, worried.
â⊠I suppose weâre both struggling, huh?â
And again, the silence swept over them. Now, the teenagers stared at each other instead, taking in the tired features. Zack still wasnât going to cry. It wasnât the time.
âCome on, letâs go to bed,â Jason grunted as he stood up. He held his hand out to Zack, offering his help. Zack hesitated, but ended up taking up Jason on his offer anyways.
Jason lifted Zack up and led him away from the hideout. âWhere are we going?â
âTo a bed. We arenât going to sleep in the mines, Zack.â
Zack stopped and laughed maniacally, lifting his head to the stars. âLook Bossman, I know youâre our leader and everything, but Iâm not going back there.â Zack gave Jason a shit-eating grin. âAnd you canât make me.â
Jason slowly turned around and gave Zack a tired and blank stare. âDrop the act,â Jason said - no, commanded. âNow isnât the time.â
Zackâs smirk was wiped away. âWhy not? Nothingâs changed here, Red,â Zack spat back.
Jason stared at Zack sympathetically.Â
âDonât give me that look,â Zack huffed a small laugh, eyes wrinkling up for effect. âNothing has changed,â he repeated.
âZackâŠâ Jason whispered, âdrop it.â
Then, Zack could feel it: the pang in his chest. His breath shuddered, and a lump formed in his throat. Not now. He took a deep breath, reeling the emotions in. He swallowed the lump, and nodded at Jason. âNot there.â
Jason slightly dropped his head, agreeing. âI wasnât intending to take you there anyways; weâre going to my house.â
And just like that, silence, again. Zack appreciated it.Â
The two of them reached Jasonâs house an hour or two later. The mines were far. Jason left his window open when he went to look for Zack, so they just climbed the side of the house to Jasonâs room, not wanting his parents to see or hear them.
Jason entered first, and Zack entered second, swinging his leg over the windowsill. Jason took of his jacket and threw it to the side, not really caring where it went, so Zack did the same. He took off his gloves too.Â
âI donât have clothes⊠and I havenât showered in a while.â
âIâve noticed,â Jason smiled bemusedly. âBathroomâs right down the hall: the door on the right. Tip-toe.â Jason threw a towel at Zack, no clothes.
Zack left the room without a word. He found the bathroom open, so he slipped inside, closed the door, and locked it. He took a short shower, enjoying the sensation of the warm water running down his body that he hadnât felt for so long. He usually let his mom use all the hot water.
Zack returned to the room safely with the towel wrapped around his waist. He held it with his left hand, and he held his dirty clothes in his right. Jason was sitting on the edge of the bed. Zack had been in the room before, so he didnât really pay attention to his surroundings too much, knowing that Jason most likely hadnât changed anything. He walked over to the laundry basket and gave Jason a questioning look. Jason understood and nodded to Zack, so Zack dropped his clothes into the basket.
Jason stood up after Zack let his dirty clothes go and held out a pair of checkered black and red boxers. Zack silently chuckled. Black and red, of course.
Zack slipped into the boxers while Jason stripped down into black boxer briefs. âAwful lot of black for the red Power Ranger, donât you think?â
Jason shrugged. âItâs my favorite color.â He was facing his laundry basket, back to Zack.
â⊠Itâs a shade.â
Jasonâs head rose, still turned away from Zack. He seemed to understand what Zack was implying. âNo⊠itâs a color. Itâs my favorite.â
Zack felt the back of his neck heat up at that. âOkay,â was all Zack could say.
âBed?â Jason gestured towards the mattress.Â
Zack walked over to the edge and waited for Jason to slide under the blankets. Jason scooted in and patted the open space beside him. The bed wasnât big, but it fit two people if they got close. Zack slid in, back to Jason.
He didnât know if he could sleep, but he closed his eyes. Jason slipped an arm around Zackâs torso and the other arm under Zackâs head. He had it bent so that Zackâs head rested on Jasonâs forearm and bicep while Jasonâs palm was underneath his own head. Jason tugged Zack close.
Silence reigned supreme once again. Zack didnât know what he could say, if he should say anything at all. He just enjoyed the warmth of Jasonâs body against his and the pressure of the arm wrapped around him.
âSheâs gone,â Zack whispered, more to himself than to Jason.
âShe is,â Jason quietly said.Â
Not the response Zack was looking for, but apparently it did the trick. He didnât need sympathy; he didnât need comfort; he didnât need anything.Â
âIâm alone.â
The arm around his torso squeezed. âNo.âÂ
âYeah, I am.â
âNever,â Jason said as-a-matter-of-factly.
There was a pause. â⊠Why?â
Jason didnât raise his voice; didnât stutter; didnât hesitate. âBecause I love you,â he stated, clear as day. âAnd the rangers will never leave you.â
Zack could feel his breath hitch, but he didnât respond. He only let Jason hold him even tighter, if possible. âOkay,â he accepted. There was warmth in his chest, but there was also a deep crack. He could feel it getting bigger and bigger by the second.
Now.Â
He cried. He let out a sob. âSheâs never coming back, Jason. Why did they take her from me?! Why wonât they give her back?! I want her back!â His voice broke and cracked in random syllables. He burrowed his face into the soft section of Jasonâs elbow, and Jason shoved his nose into the crook of Zackâs neck.Â
âI know, I know,â Jason kept whispering as Zack cried out curses. Zack could feel tears on his neck, clearly coming from Jason.
After a couple minutes, Zackâs sobbed calmed a bit to a whimper. âIs she ever coming back?âÂ
âNo.â
âBut Billy did,â Zack protested.
âYou know thatâs different.â
Silence.
Minutes passed by. Then, Jason moved. He kept his arm under Zackâs head, but he lifted his own head, twisting it around to the side of Zackâs face. He placed a careful kiss on the corner of Zackâs mouth.
âIt doesnât mean much right now, but I do love you. Iâm sure she knew because she always gave me a knowing look every time she caught me staring at you. I know you donât want to hear it, but Iâm going to keep saying it until it goes through that dense head of yours. I love you. You wonât be alone since Iâll be here.â
Zack twisted his body around, keeping Jasonâs arm where they were. He faced Jason now. âOkay.â With that, Zack wrapped both of his arms around Jasonâs chest and buried his face into Jasonâs chest.
He was didnât cry anymore. He didnât speak. The crack in his chest grew infinitely, and it hurt. But the warmth grew too. He didnât feel okay right now, but maybe one day, with Jason, he would be.
Zack returned to school the next day. He didnât have any of his books or anything because they were still there, and he had no intention of going back anytime soon.Â
He wore Jasonâs clothes. That morning, when Jason left through the front door, Zack left through the window. He didnât know what he was doing at school, but he had nothing better to do. The teachers saw him and gave him questioning looks. Multiple times throughout the day, he was asked if he was sure that he wanted to be there.
Zack didnât know what else there was to do. Plus, this way, he could be with Jason and the rangers. Everyone who knew who Zack was gave him their sympathies and apologized for his loss. It was an empty gesture, and he didnât appreciate it. He nodded and smiled though, thanking them and moving on.
The rangers though, they didnât say anything, knowing that there was nothing to be said. They all had dark circles under their eyes too, feeling the loss themselves.Â
Zack heard that Tommy cried and screamed when she found out in the command center. Trini was stuck in one place, grieving in silence as tears ran down her face. Billy crumpled up against a wall and whimpered, muttering to no one in particular about âwho was going to play chess with him now?â or âwho was going to teach him how to talk to others?â Kimberly tried to stay strong and comfort the others, but tears streamed out of her eyes too, voice cracking as she rubbed the backs of the other rangers. Jason⊠Jasonâs first instinct when Zordon informed them was to ask about Zack.
They all looked miserable, but they stood strong together.
The funeral was simple and sparse. It was only the rangers. Zack had used the money he saved up for the medical bills every month to get the best for the funeral. It was extravagant, designed with flowers and ribbons everywhere. Red, blue, green, yellow, and pink covered the cemetery for the funeral. It was meant to celebrate her life, but it didnât feel that way. The only color that they noticed was black: the black coffin, the black dresses, the black suits. That was the only color that mattered at the moment.
None of them spoke. The coffin laid in the Hearse. Each of them gulped and slowly lifted it. It couldâve been carried with just 2 people given their strength, but they all wanted to put her down together.Â
They marched to the hole in the ground and paused. They didnât put her down. They didnât want to accept it just yet. They wanted just a little more time with her.Â
Finally, the coffin was gently laid down minutes later. The area was lined in bright colors, but none of them noticed. They stood in a line in front of the hole, shoulder to shoulder. No one moved.Â
Tommy was whimpering. Trini had a stoic face on, but tears still escaped. Kimberly took a deep shuddering breath in through her nose, and released it. Billy couldnât seem to comprehend what was happening. Jason slipped his hand into Zackâs and squeezed. Zack stared. There was no more crying for him.
Slowly, each of them took a turn picking up the shovel and tossing dirt onto the coffin. Each time the dirt thudded against the sleek wood, each of the rangers felt like they were being shot. Zack went last.Â
Then, they all dropped a note written on a wooden slab.Â
Tommy thanked her and wished her good luck. Trini drew a picture of the rangers running in a golden field with a figure in a flowing sundress watching them dash around. The figure had itâs back to the point of view. Kimberlyâs slab was hidden. Jasonâs assured her that they would take care of Zack. And Zackâs simply said âI Love You.â
Just like that, it was over, and the rangers walked away without a word. They went to the abandoned train car for a night in the mines together.
âYou know⊠she called us her warriors,â Billy spoke up, staring into the campfire.
It was dark now and they were all in sleeping bags around the campfire. Jason and Zack shared a sleeping bag.
â⊠Then weâll be her warriors,â Tommy voiced.
âI bought an apartment,â Jason whispered later that night when the other angers fell asleep. âYouâre moving in with me.â
âNo input on my part?â
âNo.â
This was how it was. Jason was a simple man when it came to moments like these. He always knew the right thing to do and say, but he always stated it with authority, letting the world know that he would take the wheel from here. He would guide them to a safe place again before loosening up.
âOkay.â
âWeâre going to the Angel Grove University.â
âOkay.â
âI love you.â
âOkay.â Zack felt the warmth grow just a little faster.
The next morning the rangers sat side by side on the train car to watch the sunrise, still in the funeral attire.Â
âWeâll be okay,â Zack said. âWeâre her six warriors.â
With that, the rangers smiled. The sun began creeping up from the horizon.Â
âWeâll make it through,â Tommy spoke.
âWeâll protect the world,â Kimberly said.
âWeâll crush our enemies,â Trini gritted.
âWeâll make more friends,â Billy piped up.
âTogether, we are more.â Jason whispered.
Zack stood up and screamed at the sun! âBRING IT ON!â
Everyone stood and cheered with Zack. Jason wrapped an arm around Zackâs waist and smiled brightly at him.Â
Zack smiled back. âI love you,â Zack finally said.

11 Days: Introduction
Authorâs Note:Â Hey! Finally getting back into this writing thing XD. Anways, this is a small introductory piece to something I think you guys will enjoy! Iâll file it under the tag #11days so check them out as they come out peeps!
Zack rolled over on his pull-out couch. Sleeping had become somewhat of an issue after receiving his power coin. Zordon explained to the entire team that they would notice small changes in their day to day life because of their enhanced bodies, but Zack didnât think that not needing as much sleep was even possible.
Sighing, he threw the blanket off and trudged over to the kitchen sink for some water. He instinctually grabbed two cups from the cupboard and filled them with clear water. He left one on the kitchen counter and carried the other one down the cluttered hallway to his momâs room. Not wanting to wake up his mom, he slowly pushed the door open and tip-toed through. Zack looked his mom over, checking to make sure she was sleeping well, and switched the empty glass on the bedside stand with the one he just filled.
He quickly left the room and closed the door halfway. He returned to the kitchen and placed the empty glass into the sink. Not really knowing what to do with all the time he had on his hands, Zack plopped down on his pull-out couch and just sipped at his water, daydreaming about whatever came to mind.
He thought about the time that he spent in detention with his friends and about how different it was from what he was so accustomed to. He thought about the dinners they all had practically every other night and reminisced in the loud dinner full of laughter. Zack found himself chuckling, shaking his head and wondering how his life had changed so dramatically in a matter of 11 days.
11 days⊠Thatâs all it took.

Trini: Youâre stupid.
Zack: Thatâs it?
Trini: Give it time. Itâll eat at you.
[Later]
Zack: Hey, am I stupid?
Kimberly: Yeah, a little.
Zack: Damn her!
