With season two now over, all I can say is what. A. Season. And what a gut-wrenching finale. Marshal Andy also brought his A-game with the villains, who are also all easy to make out of Lego. Enjoy.

Lego Oxventure - Season 1 Highlights

We're still a little busy working on another project, so alas work on Season 2 is yet to begin. In the meantime here is a collection of my favourite pieces of art from the first season's episodes.

I should specify that this is not my favourite from this episode because of the booting of the chicken but instead because of the accurate Lego recreation of the stock image used.

Was an absolute blast turning a Bionicle into a giant DnD creature.

Possibly the longest-running plot thread in the entire series.

Lego Oxventure - Spell Check

The season one finale plants seeds that would go on to flourish all the way into the last season.

Egbert wakes up minus a kidney

The other Oxventurers, also captured, thankfully retained all their organs.

Breaking free, the guild adopt one of the guards

Although Corazon and Egbert were all too happy to play bad cop-bad cop with him.

A plan goes awry

Beron the dwarf misses his attack, and then Egbert misses his, hitting the dwarf with his own battleaxe.

The signal is given, the battle begins

The first of many skirmishes with arch-nemesis Liliana.

Corazon and Prudence are briefly empowered with magical juice

Corazon The God uses his newfound power to spawn many, many sandwiches.

Liliana will return...

...with Egbert's kidney (hopefully).

And so the first season is concluded. I'll be taking a brief break before embarking on season 2, so that I can have a short rest and plan the next season.

Lego Oxventure - Stop! Hammer Time!

The town of Bumble is irreversibly changed after the Oxventures unveil a guild of 60 enchanted skeletons.

Dob summons the skeletons in the crypt

"We...are...Ethelfrith's...chosen."

Prudence takes an instant liking to the skeletons

The Dob Orphanage for Orphans is opened

Problem is, it's a very wet orphanage. And a very red orphanage.

Shortly thereafter, union negotiations get out of hand

The skeletons form up into a giant minotaur-voltron

The Oxventurers prevail however, and the skeletons are returned to the hammer until they are required again.

Oxventure Deadlands is back, and I'm loving it. And so I see no better time than now to unveil this image from the archives. A while back I wanted to do a Deadlands-inspired Lego diorama, but I shelved as I wasn't happy and didn't think it was good enough.

To spot from the OX campaign is Nate being attacked by a Tumblebleed and Rex Randall ready to take on a Glom.

Lego Oxventure - Heist Society

A social adventure in Rutherglen turns to an costumed investigation into the true perpetrator of a jewel theft

In the costume shop (it is a masquerade ball, after all)

Starring-

Merilwen as Prudence as Deadpool

Prudence as sexy minion Prudence

Corazon as sexy nurse Corazon

Dob as Egbert (in an electric blue tuxedo)

Egbert as himself, but with a coat made from 80 wolves

Against all odds, and reason, the guild drift a carriage

Egbert absconds with an information broker for a serious discussion

"What's chess?"

As Dob attunes to the wind, Hurricane Corazon ransacks the office

And successfully uncovers some shocking information...

...Which he tries to explain to Amelia...

...without success.

Later, the Bear-Down Protocol is enacted...

...with smashing success.

And so, with the truth out, the guild leaves another successful adventure

It's just, in all this excitement, the Emerald Tear went missing.

And so onwards. Bumble, brace yourselves. The guild is coming.

Lego Oxventure - Brawl of the Wild

An adventure that has it all really. Bombs, family reunions and a certain pirate making wildly deceitful claims.

Prudence's idea of stealth leaves a bit to be desired

Turns out holding a tree branch in front of you just isn't enough when your skin is bright red.

Dob's plan goes a bit too well

It seems that super-hench, rabies infected boars are perfectly happy to chow down on half-orc.

The Professor's identity is revealed

"Dob, what does your sister look like?"

Corazon invents the pedal-boat, and fashions it after himself

And thus the Coraswan was born. Also the dead-squirrel-clenched-in-a-fist-to-honour-the-fallen swan.

Illegal-moonshine-still inspector Corazon is not pleased with the state of things

Which gets the Kobolds' attention because, as Johnny put it, Kobolds be dumb.

Prudence shields the flammable party members from an explosion

Because, as she reasoned, "they have nice stuff and I don't want it to burn"

So with every animal and their grandparents in the forest blind from a concentrated-moonshine spill, the guild leave the woods behind to head for an adventure in high society.

Unfortunately I must report that Brawl of the Wild will be delayed, on account of the wait for certain parts and an exhausting week working on another project.

As consolation, please accept this image of Prudence, which is actually the very first photo I did of an Oxventurer, from years back when I first made the minifigure.

Lego Oxventure - Bad Chair Day

A shorter adventure, but with no less the usual hijinks.

Two enchanted chairs prove formidable foes...

An all round poor combat performance from the guild, Corazon achieved the most successful round by hiding the whole time.

...Until Egbert steps in

After which the guild go on a lengthy wild red herring chase, ending with two members on an outbound boat.

Special Agent Chairazon blows his cover

"Wesley?"

"Aye Captain?"

"Did that chair just say 'chair'?"

A fixing up the tavern montage...

...Is the fastest way to end up knocking on furniture salesmen's doors at 3 in the morning.

Corazon once again has to make a DEX save against the consequences of Egbert's actions

And thus the phrase 'like a bomb in a chair shop' was coined in G'eth

Prudence interrogates Dunnican

Who admits to distributing the cursed chairs, along with abandoning his plan to kill the guild 'in the interests of time'.

Lego Oxventure - A Fishmas Carol

What starts as a simple return to Tanner's Folly snowballs into a mission for Cthulhu that ends with the guild cooking and eating the fish-people's old god.

The Return of Alfred Strangetide

Who actually gets to do some explaining of things to the guild this time.

*For context, he rolled a 1 with a -1 modifier on his perception check.

POV: You are being rescued from a sack by a half-orc and an elf

Congratulations. Please do not resist.

"Get a load of this guy! Doesn't even know about the fish people and the giant pearl!"

Cue raucous laughter.

The Birth of Katie Pearlhead

"Are you pleased!?"

Alternatively, "Get some!"

The Chuul gives Prudence claws for concern

And a mild case of disembowelment.

And so with Cthulhu firmly re-established as the god of the sea temple worshippers, the guild head forth, shortly to have a bad chair day.

Lego Oxventure - Plunder Siege

It's brigands galore in the episode that brought us All Crim's Night.

The Journey To Redcastle

Just like the folk ballad "Vindaloo" by famous minstrel Fat Les.

Merilwen has a close encounter of the turd kind

Courtesy of a botched throw from Dob, she ends up spiked directly into a freshly-manured flowerbed.

"Watch this"

While the rest of the guild are content to climb the wall, Egbert uses a bomb's explosion to sail over the outer wall atop his shield.

Inside Redcastle, Egbert sets of a series of cascading bookshelves directly on top of Corazon and one of the Duke's guards.

"He has no idea what you're planning, and frankly neither do I"

Dob turns a brigand into a goblin by way of making him eat soup from a pot that he put Prudence's grimoire into.

The Last Stand of M. Chanail

The last known picture of the rubbish gnome druid known for turning people into animals before his timely incineration at the hands(?) of Egbert's breath weapon.

With the guild's first nemesis vanquished, it's time for A Fishmas Carol, which I could have coincided with our Christmas had I planned things out slightly better. Oh well.

Lego Oxventure - Quiet Riot

At long last we are here, with the guild taking on The Order of Keeping It Down.

Dob gliding on a wave of Corazon's grease

Just out of frame - Corazon and Flannery also gliding on the grease, while the others all stack it.

Merilwen's Meatgrinder

Truly one of the most iconic moments of the Oxventure.

Corazon fillets a man

Disguised as a paladin, no less. For shame Corazon.

Merilwen turns into a bear

Much to the confusion (and, immediately thereafter, panic) of Corazon.

Egbert immolates a bunch of paladins

Makes you wonder if this would be considered... friendly fire.

Merilwen and the gang have conflicting opinions on the Owlbears fate

The Owlbear is based on the Honour Among Thieves depiction because I couldn't accurately replicate the Monster Manual version.

And that's it for the chapter. You will see Flannery in the future I promise, and we will get out of the dark grey castle wall setting that's been so prevalent of late. But unfortunately not before we're done with Plunder Siege next time.

Lego Oxventure - Merilwen's Meatgrinder!

Ahead of the Quiet Riot post, I needed to spotlight such an iconic moment, not just of the first season, but of the entire series. The wholesale slaughter enabled by grease and spike growth was something to behold.

Lego Oxventure - An Orcward Encounter

The adventure continues into the chapter that features the only time a player character was rendered unconscious.

Corazon rolls great on saving his own life

*hurdy gurdy intensifies*

Dob rolls great on saving everyone else's lives

Not pictured- Egbert also rolling great on dodging arrows.

Merilwen (finally) rolls great at hitting something with her bow

And manages to illuminate the area at the same time.

Prudence, meanwhile, got rejected by Dob's evil doppelganger and then missed with her Eldritch Blast

Wasn't a good day in the office regarding rolls for Prudence

Lego Oxventure - Wild Wild Woods

The adventure continues with Wild Wild Woods, featuring an above average amount of rapping for a live show, as well as the first instance of "Don't be a Dob". Oh and a giant mechanical stag beetle (which was a bit difficult to make out of Lego)
