Avengers: Doomsday Prediction #3

Dr. Doom will use a Steve Rogers variant to try and manipulate the Avengers. Bucky will know right away that it’s not Steve. He knows Steve wouldn’t be able to come back nor would he want to. Sam is excited 'Steve' is back and thinks Bucky has resentment towards Steve for leaving him.  The wedge between Sam and Bucky is driven further, which is what Doom wants.

Edit: This theory can work 3 different ways:

 The first is what is written out.

The second is Sam knowing something is off and Bucky being excited Steve is back.

 The third is that Sam and Bucky both realize on their own that Steve is a variant. They would be separated for whatever reason when they figure it out and unable to communicate with one another because of Doom or The Void.

You're gonna tell me that Steve just left Bucky in Endgame? Really?

Steve, who grew up with Bucky and is his best fucking friend? Who knows everything about him? Who's always had Bucky by his side to protect him and help him after fights?

Steve, who defies direct orders and goes on a fucking death wish of a mission (ALONE) just to try and find Bucky and bring him back?

Steve, who tries to just drink away all the guilt and sorrow after Bucky's fall? After he couldn't save him?

Steve, whose entire character arc for at LEAST 3 WHOLE MOVIES was BUCKY? Finding, saving, helping, protecting, (and risking his life(multiple times)for) Bucky.

Steve, who stops in the middle of fighting after seeing that Bucky was alive, frozen in fear and confusion because Bucky died? He watched him die and now he's here?

Steve, who willingly gives Bucky the chance to kill him while fighting multiple times because he doesn't want to hurt him? Because he's his friend? Because he's with him till the end of time?

Steve, who stood by Bucky and protected and defended him and fought by his side after Tony found out that he killed his parents?

Steve, who wasn't there to help Bucky when Zemo brainwashed him during Civil War? Who had to see his friend become the monster that Hydra turned him into again? Who had to fight him again after just getting him back?

Steve, who watched his friend go back under in Wakanda after everything so he wouldn't hurt anyone anymore and could heal properly?

Steve, who has stood by Bucky's side throughout the entire fucking series and has never given up on him?

Steve, who tells Sam and Natasha that even when he had nothing, he had Bucky?

You're telling me THAT'S the guy who left Bucky for some girl he knew for what? Barely TWO FUCKING YEARS? THAT'S WHO HE LEFT HIS BEST FUCKING FRIEND, WHO HE RISKED HIS LIFE FOR OVER AND FUCKING OVER, FOR?

After everything that him and Bucky go through(mostly Bucky, with all of the torture and shit from Hydra), he just? leaves Bucky to deal with it on his own? He leaves the family and life he had created with The Avengers and Bucky for a girl he knew for two years?

MAKE. IT. MAKE. SENSE.

Marvel needs to make a 1-hour special about Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier’s past. Yes, it’s been touched upon in the movies and in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but it hasn’t really been in depth. It can start with Bucky falling off the train, and him getting kidnapped by HYDRA. It can go through the different years/decades and missions that he was a part of.
