Long Time
Good Morning :)
It has been another good while that I have not been here. But I have been super busy.
Since January 2014 I  have been taking part of some coursed for eating healthy and exercising more. And with great results so far, I have lost 10kg (22lb).
Since then I have joined a gym (1/2 Price, how could I say NO?!) and I actually love exercising. Which I never ever thought I would.
Feeling really good. But still a bit tired and kind a drained.
I have researched the tiredness a bit and what caught my eye was Vitamin D3 and the need for it in our body. It is one of the essential building blocks. And yet there are soooo many of us who just don't receive enough of it.
Yes, we will get enough of it if we spend 30 mins in the sun everyday without sunscreen and if we haven't had a shower before, so our skin has all of its nice natural oils on it. BUT if we wear sunscreen (which I admit is important to protect the skin), if we sit inside most of our day or if it just isn't sunny outside, we do not get enough!!!
Vitamin D3 (note D3!! as this is the natural one) helps our body absorb Calcium and Magnesium. If you are getting enough vitamin D3, there is no need to take extra calcium, because the body will easily from foods.
Anyway, Google it!
So after finding out a lot I decided to go and get some. It is darn expensive!!
So I researched some more and one of my friends mentioned a website where you could get supplements and loads of other stuff for a very reasonable price (she has been shopping there for years).
I placed my order (omg, a huge one ;) ) and I am now waiting for it. Should be here Wednesday or so....SOOOO excited!
Will see how it goes!

I am a deserter
Please forgive me, I have been so pre-occupied with Christmas and have not been feeling at all great due to my RA.
i feel like there is nothing worth writing about at the moment. I dare not step on the scales because of the holidays, I have not held back. But the plan is, that as soon as the festivities are done (in my case after the 10th of Jan.) then I will get back on the horse.
So this is my promise that as of 12th of Jan 2014 I will continue what I started!

Week 2 - Done
Another fantastic week, -1.7 kg (-3.74 lb), a total of -4.1 kg (-9.02 lb). And honestly I am not doing any drastic dieting or starving. I eat more healthy foods, vegetables, fruit. much less or no sugary foods, processed foods, no sweets or "white" foods.
It is actually not as bad or difficult as it sounds. I don't think of this as "I will never have any more cakes, or chocolate, or what ever" but I do think that "As long as I am overweight I should not eat cakes or fatty foods, and I can have all of them (in moderation) once I have achieved my goals!" This way I am limiting myself only temporarily. And I don't miss these foods that much anymore. With fruit I am satisfying my "sweet tooth" and when I feel hungry, before eating ANYTHING, I have a glass of water and wait a bit, to see if I was really hungry or just thirsty. This has been a great lifesaver.
All in all I feel a lot better than I did when I started. My stomach is not bloated and I feel better inside, hard to describe. I feel better about myself, as in I feel that I can do this, because I am doing this.
So another great week, everything is going really well. Even if some days I eat somethings that I am not supposed to (yeah, I still sometimes reach for things I am want to stop eating) I don't give up, because TOMORROW IS ALWAYS BETTER!

Week 2 - Day 6
Haven't posted for a while...
I have been quite lazy recently, sorry. I have  not been out for a walk, BUT I have been very good with my food and water and writing down everything. So still no big loss. And on Wednesday I was out in town, walked(shopped) a hell of a lot (2.5h), and I wasn't strolling. So I can still count everything so far as a success. Will try to go for a walk tomorrow, I really should. And unfortunately I have been ignoring my veggies for the past few days, so i will try to pick that up as well. Have not had ANY white pasta or bread so far this week, and I have been eating fish, smokes salmon, oh yummy!
I have another weigh in (2nd) on Sunday, so we'll see how I have done this week. I am not expecting same results as last week , but I am expecting at least half. So maybe try to be super good and healthy tomorrow :)
Oh, and regarding #newbodymakeover and #blogilates, I have been very lousy at it. Haven't really followed the meal plan, although I use it as my guide, on my fridge. And I have not done ant of the exercises, I blame my RA, but I do plan to do it eventually, if my pain and discomfort subsides (should be a few more months). Hopefully then I can start a bit :)

Week 2 - Day 3
Ohh, didn't do too well today, although I stayed within my budget calories (kinda) and went for a walk, I had WHITE bread rolls and BUTTER for dinner, not wise choice. But still I don't feel too bad, I still had veggies and fruit today, and I walked, so actually not too bad. Hope you had a better day than me :) Let's make tomorrow BETTER!
Now, after having the "processed" dinner, I feel quite bad, not my conscious, but my body. My stomach feels bloated and kinda aching (funny, I used to feel like this ALL the time before!!!!). How we forget!
Generally I am ok with today, AND TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER!

Week 2 - Day 1
Today was my 1st weigh in ... -2.4 kg (-5.3lb). WOW! Amazing! I changed the way I eat and the ball is rolling now. I am sooo proud of myself.
Now today was the start of the 12 week #newbodymakeover with blogilates (Cassey). She has given us 1st weeks eating plan and an exercise plan. You can see everything here, on Cassey's blog http://www.blogilates.com/
My 1st day went really well, the breakfast was super yummy and filling. The rest of the day was great too, had loads of healthy stuff to eat and drank my water and went for a walk. I can't do many of her listed exercises, due to my RA, but I still walk a bit and SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!
Very happy with everything and I don't feel hungry. Just hang in there!

Day 6
Such a great day, AGAIN :) Almost didn't go for a walk, but I had promised myself to walk everyday, at least 30 min, and a promise is a promise, so I went for a walk in the evening.
Started my day right, with the delicious banana/egg pancakes and some clementines. My lunch was green smoothie, filled with spinach and kale and fruit. For dinner I tried some zucchini (courgette) fritters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umioYnXt-n4) and oh my goodness, they were YUMMY!!!! I did have 3 Rich Tea biscuits, which I could have done with out, but still, no harm done. And finished my food day with a yummy fruit smoothie.
Another good day, I can do this!!!!!

Day 5
Goosh, already? I have been doing great, went for a walk today, had a green smoothie (loads of green goodness in there!), generally a very healthy day, UNTIL the evening. Promised my kids some sausage pies (kinda like pigs in a blanket, with yeast dough) and had quite a few myself. I don't feel very bad about it, because my goal is to change gradually, but I could have had about half of them less than I actually did.
Still, not a bad day. I wrote down everything and I am still meeting all of my goals that I have set for myself (including writing here), so I don't think the day went bad. Today is done and tomorrow is going to be better :)!

Day 4
Oops, forgot to write yesterday, and now I have forgotten what I wanted to write.
Went for a walk, slow, but still something. Had a quite busy day, no time to think about food, thus eating less. I did have again loads of veggies, even some avocado, which is very new to me. Not bad :) Still, i wrote down EVERYTHING and drank loads of water. I'd say 4th day was a success :)!

Day 3
The day began great, my body hurt from all of the exercise I did on day 1 but still felt good. Had the banana and egg pancakes and some clementines for breakfast and I was ready for another great day.
Did quite well, wrote down everything and drank my water, but I also had 2 demi baguettes (slightly bigger than the smallest ones) and some butter and deli ham. Not quite as healthy as I would prefer, but they were sooooo good. I said straight away in the beginning that I am not going to torture myself but just slowly try to change my eating habits and tastes. Also I had same WHITE pasta for dinner....but only a very small portion, compared to what I would normally have. So still a success I think.
The only thing I didn't do was exercise! I do feel a bit bad about that, but I PROMISE to do something tomorrow! PROMISE!
All in all I still feel quite good. My 3rd day is usually the worst (4th and 5th might be troublesome too, but once over the weeks threshold, it will be easy peasy )

Day 2
WOW! Feeling amazing! Especially amazing cause I stuck to my eating plan. Ok, I didn't do my day 2 exercise, but I went for a walk (read: shopping) :) I walked around for 2h+. My Left leg was throbbing but I pushed through ;)
My daily goals met, write down everything I eat (check), drink loads of water (check), eat veggies and fruit (check).
I am just sooooo happy. I can feel it that this time is the last time I will start this journey. I will stick to this and see this to the end.
Bring on Day 3!
