The creature that wants to kill you will not growl.

The function of a growl is as a warning. It is a communication that violence is available as a tool, but is not preferred. Other outcomes, besides your death, are available and should be considered.

But the creature that wants to kill you will not growl.

If your death is the goal, then growling will only serve as a delay and may result in your escape, which runs counter to the goal. There will be no growl, no warning. There will be no snarl or hiss or bluster. The creature that bares its teeth with the intent to kill only does so to bring closer its fangs to your demise.

The creature that growls does not want to kill you, but will if it must.

I advise you to appreciate the warning. You may not receive another.

Happy New Year! Here is my holiday card from 2023. As an experiment, I ran this image through Glaze, one of several projects being developed at the moment to protect art and artists from having their work stolen by machine learning algorithms to feed computer generated art programs. Glaze was developed by the SAND Lab at the University of Chicago. It was quite a lengthy process- after I downloaded the app it took me well over an hour to glaze this single 200dpi image. I can see the subtle differences the program made when comparing this version to the original, but no one looking at it without the original would be likely to spot them. Unless the process of glazing an image speeds up considerably, I am unlikely to glaze everything I post online. However, I do plan to glaze artworks that I especially love, took me a long time to complete, or which I feel are more vulnerable to being stolen. Here's to making and sharing lots more art in 2024, despite all the complications!

cat and the multi are both caught up fully so now there's just my three drafts here on alina. but it's one am and my brain is out of spoons so i will try sporadically throughout the week to get to them! for now it is eepy time.

i basically poofed from my blogs for the week but especially this one. trying to get back, but focused on writing on cat and the multi at the moment so we'll see if i get to anything here! hope everyone is doing well <333

alina doesn't frequently wear dresses or skirts, but she does enjoy them for very unique occasions and will indulge for fancy events. especially if she has a significant other that she can use them to tease with since the outfits are so rare. of course, she'll still try to stick to some of her go-to colors ( black, dark red, some shades of blue to match her eyes... ) and with punk aesthetic or a darker flare, but she won't shy from anything that she can use to her advantage ( she has no shame after having been raised by kasmira... ). and she actually prefers such outfits over suits for women. she doesn't find suits flattering on herself and can feel stifled by the layers or fabric. so if she can't make black pants and a nice top work, she'll go for a dress.

too lazy to make icon but honestly the only things that keep strzyga from being even more powerful is their hunger limitations and the fact they aren't able to use their magic as easily in their beast forms. they have to sort of choose one or the other form or flip flop between which isn't impossible, but it is trickier and takes a lot of practice. alina's okay at flip flopping, but it isn't always reliable because it is a brief moment of disorientation
