Quite frankly, this has been one of the best fandom experiences I've had in many years (knock on wood). The community is very welcoming and open as far as everyone I've talked to or interacted with.

Honestly, I'm floored. Even the "popular girls" are like... so damn nice and encouraging. And they like read your stuff. It's insane. I know toxicity lurks in all fandom, but so far...I'm blown away.

I can't single out one person but a few ayvaines, patheticfangirl, spellsparkler, nivasi, rhubarbwug, moonmaiden, numerous people who have betaed my typo riddled garbage... yeah, I can't stop listing!! Sorry!

Recommended by a friend in the community... I was not prepared for cupperty's emotionally devastating but beautiful fic, To Cushion. It's a wonderful and rich story and so much love was put into it, you can tell. Ackkjk I cried so much for various reasons but the end was so hopeful and poignant. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 100/10

As someone who lost someone recently it was really cathartic to read.

I dont think they're on tumblr, but I'm pretty sure ao3 user lividstatue's fic Keep Yourself Warm was the OG catalyst for all the lovely chubby Gale content out there, and I want to thank them for unapologetically writing Gale as fat/chubby and Astarion loving it especially long before Gale’s soft tum was a fandom-accepted headcanon <3

I fully agree about the body positivity in the fandom! I’m a ciswoman but I am also fat and I’ve truly been positively affected in my relationship with my body.

Not to mention the care so many have when addressing things like chronic pain, disability, illness, and scarring when it comes up in the context of either canon or AU depiction of the orb, vampirism, or the ritual scars (or any other original AU disability/etc the characters might have).

The body positivity in this fandom has done wonders for my self confidence. Whenever anyone draws or writes Gale as chubby/fat, seeing people get hyped about his body is a nice reminder that I’m capable of being loved the same way and that maybe I, too, can be seen by someone else as desirable.

@rvndkwood1 has such passion in their writing! They write like they are having the absolute time of their life and it is fantastic and infectious. Their fic “let’s make this duo and trio” is so fun and sexy and entertaining!

I am a huge believer in the two cakes theory. Just because an idea has been done doesn’t mean you should not do your own version! Bloodweave has been such a rich varied tapestry of creative people expressing themselves and there are so many cakes!!

Just popping in on anon to give some love to Mod and my fellow bloodweave fans! I'm very much so a newbie, have been a passive fan of BG3 and I've wanted to play for *ages* stayed away from spoilers and I finally got the game last Wednesday and a gift-

I want everyone to know, whether you're straight, questioning, or fall anywhere in the rich, flavorful alphabet soup of love styles, YOU ARE LOVED. Just like the undying, magical love that Astarion and Gale have for each other in our Bloodweave head canons, you are special, treasured, valid, accepted, and beloved. Even if you are going through dark, troubled times, know that there IS goodness in the world, and there ARE people who care.
