the constant,  incessant need to speak over / for lesbians is discouraging and hurtful.  however,  the need to deflect and make this situation about how certain people no longer feel welcome in this fandom because they were rightfully called out on their shit is transparent and frankly asinine.  i don’t know if anyone realizes this,  but NEWSFLASH:  lesbians have been telling you,  over and over again,  for literal days that they haven’t ever felt welcomed,  not in the riverdale fandom and not in the rpc as a whole.  THAT’S what i’m concerned with   ---   i’m concerned with my sisters who keep talking,  yelling,  screaming,  yet never seem to be heard.  i’m concerned with the fact that my sisters have never felt welcomed here.  i’m concerned that cheryl being a lesbian is somehow so horrifying and wrong that people are opting to leave the fandom and the show all together,  as though cheryl being a lesbian somehow makes her any less of a beautifully complex and nuanced character.  those are the things i’m concerned about.  if you got your feelings hurt because of your lesbophobic tendencies, that’s on you.  that’s not on the lesbians who are begging you to just listen to just listen to what they’re saying.  that’s not on the lesbians who tried to be nice and were met with vitriol anyway,  and were demonized when they rightfully fought back.  that’s not on lesbians,  period.  that’s on you.  and running from it,  hiding behind the guise of being bullied,  and trying to avoid it is horribly transparent and we all see it.  you ain’t slick.
