her blood was always a decoration waiting to happen, just as his hands were fated to clasp the sword buried in her gut.

always some righteous reason as a front, but it was the same old game again and again.

cat and mouse. rabbit and wolf. the adrenaline rush of their duels… it simply never got old. always a challenge, always something unexpected yet familiar. no one else could compare, nor keep up, much less understand what drove them to this level of obsessionーa seemingly endless cycle of love and hate triggered at the flip of a switch.

it wasn’t so difficult to understand if you paid attention, though. the answer waits in the air around you; find it still and they’ll be searching for that thrill. feel its static and their trust is automatic. the ebb and flow matches the currents of the server itself, of course. activity. they always understood this to be of utmost importance, and if no one else could, they’d fill the role of motivation via enemyship for each other.

crossing blades; falling into his arms… not much of a difference, really. at the end of the day, everything is an act of love. the spark of life that keeps them both going, driving them to do better… and dragging the server along for the ride.

when you think about it, subz, mane, and spoke all gave prince zam their own kind of blessing/support for the finale. and they all banned themselves in one form or another… (i’m counting what spoke did bro cause he let himself lose lowkey). this was the real surge equinox all along……….

spoke actually took one for the destinies team and i cannot understate this enough, so i am yapping about it under the cut ^_^

i am spinning him around in my head. he literally said in the conversation with zam that if the chungpire did some lame shit he'd have to step in, and then proceeds to pull out the humble hack client to turn their ire onto him 😭 and even through all his layers of bull crap, this one thing doesn't seem like a lie, in retrospect, to me at least.

its one of the reasons i don't entirely think that he was lying in the 1 on 1 with zam, actually, because he did actually "step in" when he saw how unfair things were going to turn out with a one-tap to make himself the antagonist. he could've stepped aside and let zam do his 6v2, he could've sent zam the packet and then let her get out of the chunk ban alone and fight until she died and go again and again until she was banned - a tragic ending, like zam said in his alt stream - but he didn't. he joined in the fight.

i think that a one-tap mace was literally THE MOST he could do in that situation, sure, but it's like, anything less and the chungpire would not have gone for it. what could make them care enough about spoke to let go of zam, to see him as worth it to fight and kill instead of her, and take even clownpirece's cold apathy and turn him so frustrated he'd give up on ripping apart the server just to kill spoke? an unfair cheat, that's what.

i genuinely think spoke gave this finale to zam, because he knew what she had been giving to the server this whole season and actually wanted to support her in some way. he made himself the antagonist. and don't get me wrong, he didn't make it easy on her, especially when he told mapicc about the hearts zam gave him and dug into that probably seeing how upset it made him. but i don't know, even that feels calculated.

(and don't ask me how his empire stuff fits in to all this because i am only a princezam pov'er. maybe he genuinely wanted them back, and whatever he said to minute before they killed him was that chance. maybe he decided to scare minute in that 1 on 1 conversation like he did before, to remind minute who he wanted to be. or maybe he genuinely wanted flip a coin and see how minute would react if he offered a team up again, especially after minute fell down into the hole of cruelty despite wanting to be that hero previously. i don't know. maybe he killed mapicc on purpose. maybe he knew every string to pull to make make sure the empire couldn't come back despite saying so, like mentioning exploits to minute, or betraying mapicc, something both of them can't forgive.) <- literally have no idea what im saying because i only watched zam's pov and a very limited amount of mapicc's

but anyway, i don't even know if his plan this entire time was to bring out the hack client, until he had his conversation with zam, and realized there was a use for it.

that message after zam admitted to spoke that mapicc wanted her help to kill him solidifies this all for me, tbh.

he knew what he was making himself, and knew how zam wanted to be seen by the rest of the server, and so he knew she would have to turn to him next. i think this could've been the most honest he was this entire time. listening to her, giving her motivation, and not influencing her away from what she wanted to do. reminding her the entire time after this of her goal, by asking her repeatedly how "what she wanted to do" was going. i think he might've asked her that three separate times. how is achieving your goal going? did you get to do what you wanted? zam answers that she has, but she doesn't think she can fully until they kill him, and spoke already knows.

he has his fun with it all, because he was never a boring world ender. he puts on a show. yells that he'll get his revenge, and maybe next season he will.

and at the end of it all zam builds naked at spawn. honestly, maybe it doesn't even matter if he meant to do it or not, because he did. he protected her the entire day, actually.
