Some of Idzuki Kouji's more recent Metroid art post-Dread. According to an interview, he hasn't kept up with the series since Prime, but it's nice to see he still draws stuff with it.

It has to do with the way these blocks are coded! They don't have set amounts of coins they give, but actually they're powered by a timer (this is also why they'll give less coins if you hit them more slowly). You can theoretically get an unlimited number of coins from these blocks, as long as the timer stays active.
Usually they're limited by how fast Mario can jump, but the balloon power-up lets him hit the block more quickly than normal.
While the typical number of coins that can be obtained from a multi-coin block in Super Mario World is around 10, the maximum number is a surprisingly large 32, achievable by positioning Balloon Mario directly underneath the block.

The way Lucida's dress appears was actually inspired by this effect!
I want the starry sky texture to behave in a similar way when it comes time to animate her.
In Super Mario Galaxy, the unique way Cosmic Mario looks, appearing as a hole in space through which stars are visible, is actually a graphical mode that can be applied to any object. In the footage, the Sea Slide Galaxy itself is changed to look like it is made out of the same substance as Cosmic Mario.
Note that the second image shows the "rocket start" trick that can be used in Cosmic Mario races, instructions for which can be found in this previous post.

Chances are you already know this if you're reading my particular reblog, but let me clear it up for the people in the back:
Hatsune Miku is a voice bank which the real life singer/actress behind it was hired for and signed off on, in addition to multiple teams of real people maintaining the character brand including artwork, animated productions and merch. She's nothing like generative AI scraping from artists without permission.
Miku would have every reason to be on the human artists' side!

In Yoshi's Island, the Raphael the Raven boss battle uses the Super FX chip to rotate the battlefield. On an emulator or later official rereleases of the game that support a 1:1 perfect pixel ratio, the game is displayed in an 8:7 aspect ratio, whereby the moon in the middle is perfectly circular.
However, when playing the SNES release on original hardware, the output is stretched to a 4:3 aspect ratio. This causes the moon to become stretched horizontally in relation to the screen, however, as the screen keeps rotating, the moon keeps being stretched along a different axis in relation to the scene.
The above animation stabilizes footage of the battle to get rid of the screen rotation, making the different deformations of the moon readily apparent. Note that every element of the screen is deformed in some way due to the rotation; the moon is merely the most visible.

New Nora!!
Nora is the main character from one of my oldest surviving animations, all the way back from my university days. Some people asked me if I'd ever bring her back, so... here she is!
I also have a speedpaint video showing the process!

This Week's Livestreaming Schedule!!
So I realized maybe I should start uploading these schedules here!! I haven't been using Tumblr much lately, but I've been super active on both YouTube and Twitch. I do livestreams most days of the week. Usually I'm playing games, but I spend at least one day a week drawing art.
