I LOVE THIS

Neil absolutely loves asking the dumbest questions ever. He probably got this from Charlie, who, against all expectations, actually grew out of it once he hit 14 years old.

Neil didn't though. He loves asking questions. Questions are his love language. From "why is the sky blue?" (Meeks answers him every single time, until all the poets have the answer memorized, they start saying it in unison with 0 judgement, though they know Neil must know by now) to "what's your favorite kind of chocolate?" to "what number would I be, if I was a number?"

The first question he ever asks Todd. "If you had to marry someone, would you prefer a boy or a girl? For technical purposes, of course."

Todd never answered him. Though he answers all his other questions. Those he knows the answers to, at least.

Because Todd's an uncertain person. He hesitates before mumbling words. He isn't as confident as Meeks or as silly with it as Charlie. He thinks it through and lets it turn around his brain until he finally says something, praying it's the right answer.

Neil loves asking him questions most of all. His answers are introspective. He's obsessed with the tiny wrinkle that appears between Todd's brows as he mulls it over.

He learns a lot. He learns Todd's favorite animal, ice cream, learns the methods of writing poetry. Learns most of all, the way Todd sounds when he tells him about something he's fond of. Or when he doesn't know whether he should be saying something at all.

Sometimes it feels like Todd knows him too well. Through only his questions.

On the day Neil asks him to be his boyfriend, he doesn't doubt or hesitate. Doesn't think it over for minutes, or even seconds.

Yes. A sigh. A smile.

And Neil is kind of glad he never got over his "asking questions"-phase.

Anderperry sleeping headcanons

I’ve already said this but Neil is an early sleeper and early riser while Todd is a night owl and will lie in bed all day if he can.

Likewise, Neil is a heavy sleeper and Todd is a light sleeper.

Neil is always too cold (I wonder why) so Todd is a personal oven at night and he loves it.

On a similar note I feel like they have matching hot water bottles and blankets.

They have matching teddies; Neil’s is Winnie the Pooh and Todd’s is Eeyore.

Neil is the little spoon because he likes to have Todd’s arms around him so make him feel safe and less alone.

Todd is the big spoon because he likes to hold Neil and know that he’s still with him. (Hits harder if Neil’s attempt was unsuccessful)

Sometimes they fall asleep with their foreheads pressed together like rabbits.

Todd only needs one pillow while Neil is basically the princess and the pea.

Neil has the most bizarre and disturbing dreams right before he wakes up which sometimes results in him kicking in his sleep which creeps Todd the fuck out.
