Hydrogen Bond notes:1. Water is made up of Oxygen(6) and Hydrogen(1) which shares Covalent bonds with the Hydrogen atoms. (shares a single electron beterrn them).2. because Oxygen has 6 electrons then the way that the Water molecule is shaped in a tetrahedral fashion, and because Oxygen is very Electronegative (likes to take more than its fair share of the electrons it shares. There is a sode of a water molecule that is partially positive (on the side with the hydrogen), and a side that is partially negative (sode with the oxygen). 3. when more than one water molecules are put together, they tend to create HYDROGEN BONDS between the partially negative and partially positive charges that they have. 4. When the tempature is higher, and water is a liquid, the molecules have enough kinetic energy to form and break these bonds at will, or to go closer together than they would with less energy. Which is what makes water move like a liquid like all other matter. 5. But when the water has less energy and the temperature lowers, there is no longer enough energy to break the hydrogen bonds and so the water forms tiny crystal looking structures at the molecular level because its all of the hydrogen bonds forming so smoothly. And because it doesnt have enough energy to push the molecules closer together than the hydrogen bonds will allow, it becomes less dense than liquid water, and creates ice, that rises and floats on top of liquid water rather than sinking like other solids. It also creates the beautiful icicle and snowflake shapes because of how organized the hydrogen bonds tend to keep the molecules together.6. Hydrogen bonds also affect temperature and weather because they cause water to have a higher specific heat (amount of heat needed to raise 1g of a substance by 1 degree Celcius). Which means that water needs to be given more heat energy in order to raise its temperature than other substances. This is because while other s...
the worst thing about writing or any kind of craft is having an idea you're really excited to make a reality but then you sit down and realize how much work it's going to take to get to that point and suddenly you feel like those two little gay guys in the mountain in the lord of the rings
Human trafficking in real life: primarily people from poor countries being taken into rich countries to act as exploited labor
Human trafficking in fiction: "Boss, we've kidnapped our five hundredth white woman from the suburbs today. That's our quota, so we're ready for the underground slave auction. Oh, and fire up the darkweb livestream for the pit battles between everyone we don't sell."
The sight of Kamala Harris praising Dick Cheney and welcoming his endorsement is unsurprising but wretched all the same. Extraordinary rendition, systematic torture, and the annihilation of hundreds of thousands of Afghans and Iraqis - these are just trivialities for respectable American liberals, who invoke Trump's malevolence and uncouthness only to excuse their own love for empire.
thinking about that one wordless calvin and hobbes sunday strip thats just calvins dad ditching his work to go play in the snow... its going to make me cry
So a lot of political scandals just dropped in the last 24 hours
-NC Governor Candidate Mark Robinson's online posts were found, including some VERY graphic descriptions (like seriously, do not read if you're not 18) of him cheating on his wife, calling himself a black Nazi, and expressing support for reinstituting slavery. His email address was also found on Ashley Madison
-Robert F Kennedy Jr was revealed to be cheating on his wife with a reporter (and that isn't even the weirdest thing since federal law enforcement opened an investigation into him allegedly cutting off the head of a whale and taking it home with him less than 24 hours ago)
-GOP Senate candidate who is the CEO of a bank has been found accepting millions of dollars from what seem to allegedly be Mexican drug cartels.
-Finally, probably the biggest bombshell, according to multiple eyewitness testimonies within sealed sworn affadavits, Congressman Matt Gaetz allegedly invited a 17-year-old girl to a drug-fueld sex party
And we haven't even hit October, folks. Again, these are all still breaking news stories, so things are subject to change, but oh man oh man.
i love in fantasy when its like “king galamir the mighty golden eagle and his most trusted advisor who would never betray him, gruelworm bloodeye the treacherous”
honestly amazed that the US has, in the last few months alone, managed to develop a form of centrist terrorism where people with the least extremist views known to man are poorly attempting to assassinate politicians
