I had wild Turkeys visiting today! That is kind of rare, so I was very excited :) They photobombed the booth and of course I had to take a pic with the “big” camera too.

Shots from the lunch rush a little bit ago. It's a monumental surprise if I don't have my camera in arms reach on the weekends.

A quick photoset of Mrs. Cardinal’s breakfast photoshoot from the weekend. The cardinals are the only birds, other than the local Carolina Wren, that even know this feeder is here. They’re running a monopoly on it.

At this point I have more hummingbird photos than I conceivably know what to do with. My instincts, and my computer, tell me that I have well over a thousand. The world is in store for lots and lots of hummingbirds from here on out.

Work has had me so busy that I haven’t had any time to pay attention to this blog. I’ll be queuing up things to post from now on so I don’t have to deprive the world of lovely lil dudes like this juvenile eastern Bluebird that’s currently growing up in my neighborhood.

Prairie Warbler Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6
This Prairie Warbler just clocked in as the 147th species I’ve sighted in Brooklyn Bridge Park. I’m so excited! Meet the first 134 species in my book, Birding at the Bridge: In Search of Every Bird on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

The Red-Breasted Nuthatch is definitely one of my favourite birds. They clean up the feeder by throwing out all the husks the other birds leave behind, in flight they look like little darts but from the side they look like little bandits but from head on they look like this emoji 😗, also they’re the only birds here that climb down trees headfirst
