going nowhere, a long wip that i haven’t had time to continue work on until recently!

the last skin didn’t fit the vibe of the site it was for, so i’ve decided to start over with a whole new aesthetic and fresh codes; this is the progress so far (finished: index / mini prof / post row, to do: profile / stats / member list / guidebook). 

i’ll be finishing and fleshing out the dark version from before (the skin god-like), and will likely place it on sale as a premade when it’s finished! to clarify, the two skins no longer share any coding!

it’s been awhile since i’ve updated, so here’s a look at my newest skin, god-like! this is for a private site for a friend. there’s a lot of small tweaking that remains (even on just these two elements), especially in evening the spacing and the padding, but i’ve been enjoying the design + coding of this one so much i wanted to share it ♥

week one, redone.

i wasn’t satisfied with the way the elements looked on the page for week one, so i decided to spend some time redoing them, even though it set me back considerably. i have a hard time pushing forward if i don’t have the general feel mapped out, so this was necessary to keep moving, even if it took time away. 

the new background considerably darkens the feel, but i still plan on having a white background for the topics and posting, so hopefully that will keep things bright, even with the loss of all the color. it’s definitely easier on the eyes, which is a big plus.

i have the concept for the ucp & the use of the av in the header, which i think will look really nice. finish those, and finish the general styling of the header (fonts, font color, etc) and then next up is the forums and the stats, and if i can get those done fast enough, the profile. i plan on using the new template for the pop out headers because they’re so, so gorgeous, but we’ll see how well it works out. ✌️

everything does feel a little weighted to the left because of the positioning of the elements, so i’ll have to figure out a way to balance everything before i move on.

a general design idea for the skin going forward, ft. very little styling. i want to use a lot of color and whites with darker colors as an accent, since i always lean on darker colors for my skins. week two will be getting the ucp styled and in-place, and finish styling up the header in a way i like. if i have time, i’d like to add some usability features.  ✌️

i do like the bright colors, but we’ll see how much that trips me up when it comes to other skin aspects.
