ATTENTION BLUE COLLAR GLEE RPG MEMBERS!

I believe that it has come to all of our attentions that things at Blue Collar Glee RPG have been shifting this New Year. It has almost been a full year since we’ve begun the stories of our lovely Piggly Wiggly employees and, if you ask me, I think it’s time for a change. This move has been being planned for months and after some conversations between myself and our members I have finally come up with the best possible solution for how to implement everything and begin anew in this twist.

Thus, I give you Blue Collar Takes Manhattan. Our characters, our stories -- everything will be moving over to the City that Never Sleeps to create even more twists and turns for everyone involved. To help everyone with the adjustment period, the physical move will also jump ahead one year in time. “But Bee, how will we know what will be happening in a year?,” you may ask. It may seem a little crazy, but we are simply going to revise our own past year as if it were a year earlier than real life -- that way we will stay with current events and not have to predict the futures of our political, economic, social climate. This retcon will officially begin on May 5th, 2017 -- a full year that we have been playing this game OOC. However, in the game it will still be May 5th, 2017, making the events of the past year actually 2015-2016. (If none of this makes sense then please message me and I will do my best to explain it better)

With this new plot will come a new main page and everything. It is currently under construction, but will be launched shortly before the Retcon to ensure that everyone can be up to date. Now comes to the part where all of you, my lovely members, are involved. 

With this new move will come new characters and perhaps a loss of a few of the ones we’ve had this far. 

Our endgames will remain intact only if BOTH parties still want to continue the ship -- otherwise a new one will be established based off of suggestions from you. 

All previous biographies will remain intact, but you will be able to add to it based off of the events that came about in Lima. 

If you would like to change your characters for any reason, please inform me via message/IM/Skype and we will discuss how that will take place -- you will also see a spot about that on the form that I have created for the move

Speaking of said form: I have created this small form that I would like you to fill out whether or not you would like to resume play after the move. The final date of acceptance for this form is Friday, April 21st, 2017. Please submit it to the main page and let me know if you have any questions about anything listed.

Updated biography: (Please make this at least one paragraph that could briefly update what your character has done in Lima in our past year as well as the gap year that we will be taking -- aka how they made it to New York, what they went for, whether or not they still talk to everyone.

Once I have everyone’s forms submitted to the main page, I will then work with each of you based upon what you have submitted to adjust the biographies/ships/characters to a compromise. The same accounts may be used for before and after the move, thus once you have been confirmed and your biography has been deleted or updated then you may begin to alter it into whomever your character will be in New York as of May 5th, 2017. Depending on members leaving/changing characters we will also be having auditions accepted for new characters/characters that have been changed from in the two weeks between when forms are due and the restart of the game -- stay tuned.

I hope that all of this makes sense and makes you all very excited. I know that I can’t wait to see what this new chapter can bring for everyone and the journey that we could all take together while Blue Collar Takes Manhattan! During this month-long interim, the dashboard will officially be in a full Hiatus -- including the main page, though I will still be around for messages.

ATTENTION MEMBERS OF BLUE COLLAR GLEE RPG!

The “soon-to-be critically acclaimed” production of Footloose: The Musical by the Lima Community Center is said to be the greatest performance art that Lima has ever seen according to co-director Brian Ryan. Ryan, a trained performer himself, has even gone as far as to say that the lead performance by Jesse St. James is one made for Broadway by itself and is only added to by the rest of the cast members, “Despite their lesser names and lesser talent,” added co-director Sandy Ryerson.

Could this be everyone’s big chance to gain an eye from visiting producers and talent agents that are said to be coming to some of the performances? Some have already checked ‘yes’ to the RSVPs that were sent out by Jesse St. James himself before the cast list had even been posted!

Catch Footloose: The Musical at the Lima Community Center on March 2nd-March 5th and March 9th-12th! There will be a special preview showing on Wednesday, March 1st for Lima art critics to attend and deliver their reviews before opening weekend. Tickets can be purchased online to secure a seat and donations are encouraged to keep the art community in Lima thriving!

ATTENTION MEMBERS OF BLUE COLLAR GLEE RPG!

As promised, the cast list for Lima Community Center’s production of Footloose: The Musical was put up at the front of the building at 8:00 P.M. EST, after auditions and callbacks were held all day. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 23rd with a table read at the LCC at 7:00 P.M.. Rehearsals will then take place Monday-Friday from 7:00-10:00, with some Saturday practices towards Tech week. The performance dates are still to be decided, but will be announced soon.

Congratulations to everyone who was cast! Please note that many roles were decided at random while others were decided for sake of drama/plotting fun -- some of which will be a surprise to many of you and perhaps not so much of one to others. Enjoy the list, and I look forward to seeing what you all can do with this new plot drop!

GOOD EVENING, BLUE COLLAR GLEE RPG!

As you can see from the graphic above, the survey to determine the next plot drop theme has been chosen. As of the minute that this post is seen on the dashboard, the information is known to everyone around Lima via a post on the Lima Community Center webpage that Footloose: the Musical will be put into production and co-sponsored by none other than Bryan Ryan -- president of the LCC, and Sandy Ryerson -- theatre enthusiast and proud owner of fifteen toilet-paper roll Tony awards.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the local laws - including a ban on dancing - which are the brainchild of a local preacher bent on exercising control over the town's youths. When the Reverend's rebellious daughter sets her heart on Ren, her boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation and many of the locals are eager to believe the worst about the new kid.  

Auditions for the musical will be held on Saturday, January 14th and will consist of a voice, dance, and acting audition both solo and with partners. Those who are called back to read for specific roles will be asked to stay with the cast list being posted on the front poster board next to the welcome desk of the Lima Community Center. Please bring you own music, character shoes, and a smile.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN OOC?

Footloose: the Musical is a wonderful production that is bursting with roles that could be filled by your characters! However, the production will not only need the cast -- it will need a crew. Therefore, after reading the following positions for cast and crew please send a message into the main account via IM or inbox of which (if any) position your character would like to audition for/apply for. As stated above, the list will be posted on Saturday night and will be created based upon what everyone has sent in as well as a randomizer/an Admin’s decision on what is fitting in voice and in character. If you have a specific request for your character that you would like to see take place, please include that in your message -- such as if you want your character to audition, but not be cast, and/or anything else. Please send in any questions you may have. Get excited, BC!

Good morning, members of Blue Collar Glee RPG!

This is Admin Bee coming at you to run by some updates for the beginning of the year! Since there are quite a few, I’ve made them into this one post rather than many separate posts to make it easier on myself (because that would mean making at least four more graphics), and easier on any of you so that you can refer to one post rather than go on a search for the right one! That being said, let’s just jump right into it as we have a lot to cover!

New Year’s Eve Event

Thank you to everyone who participated in the New Year’s Eve event that we had here at Blue Collar! The event is officially over and I could not have been happier with the turn out and who was able to use it for so many different things! Please be on the look-out for the next dashwide event that will most likely be planned in another month or so, perhaps right around Valentine’s Day -- excluding possible suggestions from members in the future (which are always accepted to be heard about!)

Holiday Activity

Now that we have officially ended the holiday season (happiest of New Year wishes from me to you), we will now be merging back into the standard activity watch for the group! That means that everyone’s history will be erased today and starting from the moment this post is marked will be the new counter. As always, there is a three-day activity warning given at the end of the third day and the player would then have 24-hours to contact an Admin or resume posting (queued posts/photos/music/etc. does not count as resuming play). Please refer to the Activity Page for any questions about requesting a hiatus/semi-hiatus! As a merit of goodwill, please like this post to ensure that you’ve read up until this point, and please continue to do so! I will be taking this post seriously as we are coming out of an activity-sensitive time with the holidays and I want to make sure that everyone is on board!

Upcoming Events

While we may not have a dashwide event planned for the near future, there are two events on the horizon (sort of) that I would like to mention! The first is going to be a New Year’s Writing Challenge! That’s right. I will be pairing everyone up and you will be required to do the following:

With your selected partner(s), you must write up a para via Chatzy (for the sake of organizing and keeping the dashboard organized) that is inspired by the following prompt: It’s a New Year! It’s the best time of year to start over and have a million more firsts. Write about a past first, the first time that Character A met Character B (and Character C, for one)!

The pairings will be as such:

The second, actual event will be that Lima Community Theatre will be putting on a Spring musical! That means that I need YOUR help to decide what it will be. Then, depending on the characters that show interest, we will all decide as a group how the cast list will end up (with a few surprises from your Admin, of course!).

Month-aversary!

Though I technically began this endeavor a year ago today, I took a few months off from putting the accelerator down on this RP because of my personal life. That being said, this month on the 20th will mark our nine month anniversary of Blue Collar Glee RPG and I cannot express how incredibly honored and happy that makes me. I am so proud of everyone who has been involved in this journey from beginning to middle and with no end in sight! This has been a treasure of mine and you all have been such bright lights and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us. Thank you for nine months of beautiful work, now let’s work on nine more...(okay, eight and a half, whatever).

Good morning, members of Blue Collar!

The New Year’s Eve event for Blue Collar Glee RPG is officially underway! Please be sure to pause all previous dashboard conversations UNLESS they are text messages/private messages that can easily be maneuvered to be used for the event (previous paras/F2Fs are also an exception as long as they are properly backdated!). I apologize for not posting this sooner as my personal life has taken on a busier note as of late and I need to adjust to the scheduling a little bit better. However, we will extend the event for my missteps to be from today, December 31st at 1:00 P.M. EST until Monday, January 2nd at 6:00 P.M. EST! Please be sure to tag all posts for the event with #bcgrpg2017 so that they are easier to keep track of!

The New Year’s Eve Ball is being held at the Lima Community Center’s main ballroom and is a black-tie affair that opens its doors at 8:00 P.M.. The event is catered with plenty of drinks and snacks, and a main dinner will be served around 9:00 P.M., and will include a vegetarian option. A D.J. has been hired for the night and will be taking requests, and the tables for dinner are first-come, first-serve that surround the dance floor. Bryan Ryan has been careful in making sure that everyone in attendance will be carrying into the New Year in style. Throughout the night, Tracy Canterbury may drop by to various people to get statements about the evening, so make sure to be on the look-out in case you want your evening to be Q&A-free! Any questions can be directed to the main page.

SECRET SANTA: KITTY WILDE TO SEBASTIAN SMYTHE 

Left in the office on Monday morning, right on top of Sebastian Smythe’s desk, is the following: a box wrapped in Christmas kitty paper that contains a silver bottle opener in the shape of The Statue of Liberty, ‘New York’ etched onto the bottom, and a longer pre-made gift box that houses a bottle of BreadStix’s best white moscato. Inside of the pre-made gift box is a letter written on Christmas-themed stationary that reads:

Even if I’m usually sick of you, I’m not a fan of you being homesick.

They might not go together, but you can have some classy from Lima with a little bit of sassy (thanks, Lady Liberty) from home.
