“Have you told Rose yet?” The other Doctor asked, flickering his eyes back to him as he dared to ask the question, fearing what he was going to have to say in reply. “Do we ever tell her?”

Shame filled him in an instant, filling all the gaps and cracks of him as the back of his head hit the console. “No. We can’t,” the Doctor sighed, running a hand over his thighs as the low pain dulled further. “You know we can’t.”

Other-him sneered at his own self’s cowardice. “Doesn’t mean you don’t feel it. I’ve got an excuse, you don’t.”

“And what’s your brilliant excuse then?” He bristled, sitting up a bit straighter. “Come on. Not like we’ve not got the time or blank memory space set up for this, if we’re gonna get into it. Why can’t you tell Rose you’re in love with her already, if it’s just that easy?”

“Because she can’t love this me.” The other Doctor didn’t even hesitate, the blue of his eyes growing stormy and dark. “You can’t love something as broken as me. Whatever you are, you’re… better for her, that’s obvious. You’ve got no goddamn excuse not to do right by her.”

after how much love my tenrose piece got, I had to make something for ninerose! I started watching with NuWho so Nine was my first Doctor <333 Bad Wolf / Parting of The Ways is one of my favorite Nine era episodes (up there with Father's Day and Rose!! )

first you're like "the doctor is autistic" and then you're like "weeellllll they are an alien so that could explain their behavior" and then you see how the other time lords act and you loop back to "the doctor is autistic"

I think it would be really funny if the doctor went full dark side and the master immediately is like "wait....oh my God this is weird go back" and then starts scheming on how to make the doctor care about humanity again. he thought it would be sexy but the doctor is really good at evil and the master is shaking like 'please have empathy remember empathy you love empathy'

some people seem to be under the impression that the doctor is naturally pacifistic and takes some frustration to snap and start killing. this could not be further from the truth: the doctor is naturally physically violent, and wastes significant amounts of energy every day on not punching all his enemies.
