I'm working on a project for the Uni atm and thought that you all maybe would like to hear about it :)

Story "Beyond the Projection"

Mortis, a quiet, introverted character, who lives in a colorless world where the days pass monotonously without leaving any real trace.

To escape the feeling of emptiness, he flees to another dimension called Dreamy Ocean, the floating world of Doris and Haru, his best friends.

This world, half ocean, half universe, is a magical retreat full of peace and joy. But for Mortis, this place never feels real enough. As a pure projection, he cannot touch his friends, but can only observe them. He exists there like a ghost, silent and invisible, like a shadow between the stars and the waves.

One day, everything changes. When Mortis enters Dreamy Ocean, all trace of Doris and Haru is missing. The colorful world suddenly seems completely empty, distorted, and extinguished. It is as if, with the disappearance of the two, the color has been drained from the world.

Suddenly, a huge, shimmering portal opens before him into an unknown dimension. Mortis approaches this portal and is drawn in. Suddenly he finds himself in the real world. His VR headset shatters into a thousand pieces before him.

No illusion. No program. For the first time, it feels as if he is experiencing warmth and reality. There stand Doris and Haru, more real than ever before. The two look completely different than in the projection, but they radiate the same familiarity and connection.

As the three meet, color returns to the world, and the outlines of an old, forgotten amusement park on the coast are revealed.

A place they all knew. A place where they once met in a dream. For the first time, they embrace. Not through an image. Not through a projection, but through real life.

Dreamy Ocean had once been a place of refuge... but behind the portal lay something greater: a place of real encounters, lived memories, and dreams that come true.

Beyond the illusion, real life begins. "Beyond the Projection" is a 2D animated short film about a friendship that transcends boundaries and ultimately reveals what truly connects us. It's the genuine encounters that touch our innermost being and bring color to a world that would otherwise remain gray.

I haven't decided for a title yet.

The painting is about losing your passion.

About that empty feeling you get when nothing really sparks your interest. When nothing really seems to matter and your hobbies just feel empty and exhausting.

It's like you watch the fire of your passion die. And even though you know that once it's extinguished you will freeze to death, you can't find the motivation to get up and search for wood.

Even if you are sitting right in front of the fire, watching it slowly disappearing.

The picture resembles the feeling of being manipulated and watched from someone who sees you and your feelings just as a game. It's about the lack of control and the feeling of helplessness that settles in your bones.

But it's also about digitization.

The fact that everybody can see everything you post. As if every step is watched. There's no way to escape, because the whole world focus on capitalism and digitization, and owning more, and more and more and better technology and laziness and and and.

So much that just living a peaceful life in nature is nearly impossible or way to expensive.

So that the system controls you with money and all the other shit you need in order to survive.

So yeah,

the picture resembles the helplessness of living in a society that sees money as a god and nature just as a resource and being different as an Illness.
