I am a hair's breadth away from making it my own personal headcanon that the reason everyone was acting so wildly out of character in s4 of TUA is because in s4 we switched to following a whole new set of siblings in one of the other universes (and the writers forgot to tell us).

And these are versions of the characters who had some similar, but not the same experiences, different relationships to each other, etc.

Seriously - it solves a pretty sizable amount of the issues with season 4.

I stand by my headcanon that s4 Five was on s1 Viktor’s drugs and lost his entire personality because of it. Maybe the drugs fell through the blending timelines while he was having a rough time, he saw Viktor’s name on the bottle and thought “might as well see what that’s about.”

Second coping theory of them all being different siblings from one of the splintered timelines is also accepted.

I'm still standing on my, season 4 Five was a different man, hill. When Reggie set up the new timeline and Allison hit the button, Five changed into the person they thought he was, not the one he actually was. And that's why he's so out of character.

Which could explain other things?

Luther didn't continue searching for Sloane as long as he lived, and you all know he would've, but Allison didn't want that.

Why wouldn't Diego be working in crime prevention again? He was all about that shit before. And he and Lila having marriage problems? Nope, they were seemingly assholes sometimes but that was deep deep love and perhaps misunderstood by others?

Agreed! I would have been so interested to see how this relationship evolved/devolved. They didn't even have to spend money on it, have one of them find Pogo's diary as one of the artifacts from other timelines. You invented a scenario where you have no rules. Reginald was such an interesting character with so much contradiction in him, and so much left unexplored.

On the subject, what I wouldn't have given for some kind of flashback to explain how we went from human!Grace to robot!Grace. I could list exactly the scenes they could have cut from s4 to make room for it.

Only mildly late sketch for a fun DTIYS challenge from @ro3rin Another TUA fanart because I do what I want. Nothing too fancy, but this is such a fun concept that demanded to be drawn. I decided that it really only worked if the milk carton was trashed, so I had fun playing with texture on this. It was more challenging to do the lettering, which is why it got significantly more scribbly as I went. My biggest regret was the cheap paper I drew this on, but hey... that sketchbook was probably on sale when I got it. Thanks for the idea!
