playing Pokemon for the first time in like ~15 years, decided my fav needed a new form. a wop of Hisuian Houndoom, inspired by the divine wolves of Ainu and Japanese culture, and the Ezo wolf, hunted to extinction in the wake of the Meiji Restoration.

There is a certain level of narrativization that comes with the media, and I guess, panicked individuals on social media, talking about "the final solution" and "irreparable damage" with regard to genocide happening in Palestine.

The international media and political apparatuses are all covering their asses, talking about statehood for Palestine, how the occupation must let aid in. There are probably several people who simply want to fall into despair and wash their hands of the dying and starving.

The media, despite being utterly discredited in every way possible, continues to launder the crimes of the International community, the United States, and the puppet state. "Bring back the hostages this" and "Hamas is to blame", "Does that shithole have the right to exist?", "Oct 7, Oct 7, Oct 7".

People are still trying to reach Gaza, and every doctor and Palestinian journalist under the sun has testified to what's been happening on the ground, but the truth is optional now as far as the politicians and actors are concerned.

I'm filled with a kind of rage that feels bottomless as I watch the theatrics. I'm not doing nothing (I'm doing what's within my power), but polite words fail me, and no longer satisfy.

Genocide has never been the international community's red line; it's just been the red line for the few. Genocide has always been a tool for empty platitudes and justification for erasing entire worlds.

This world cannot stand.

seeing people kinda heated because the new avatar show's setting is...i guess somewhat post apocalyptic and i guess it's korra's fault

like korra defeated...uh...discrimination, turned into a spirit kaiju to fight off some ancient entity in an ultraman battle, then fought an airbending redditor, then fought a fascist in a gundam...did all that just to obliterate the world anyways.

i personally think that shit is hilarious. but i also think lok is the second worst cartoon ive ever seen with maybe the number one worst cast of characters in a cartoon so any korra slander is funny to me.

avatar in general is a funny series because its been trying to recapture the magic of the original series but seems to have just failed in that regard. I dunno if the new series will be good (if those two white dudes are at it again, i doubt it), but without handing this series off to different writers who really understand the cultures and real world histories that influence the series (or some goddamn editors, man), we're just gonna get some slop.

a lot of atla's success is due to the timing of its release, and that's just not going to be replicated. its sorta like dragon ball in that respect; right place, right time. its still a good show that i dont think particularly stands up as well now to other cartoons, but because of when it was released, its secured its position. anime is bigger than ever now. the western cartoon landscape has changed a lot too.

i really hit my limit with ZZZ. the new character designs are really boring to me and the complete lack of anyone with a skin tone darker than "slightly tanned" since freakin' nekomata is ridiculous.

the character designs dont even feel cohesive to the world they are in anymore.

running in 74 degree weather with like 90% humidity is pure hell. i come back from a short 3 mile run looking like i just jumped in a swimming pool. i dont sweat this much running half marathons in the colder seasons.
