As you pushed open the door, you were greeted by a number of potent smells. The polishes were arranged neatly in rows, and the flower pots were freshly watered. The decor of the salon was simply enough, with black furniture and red accent pieces all around. The TVs on the wall were even on, playing some day time television show, the sound softly occupying the small space, save for some classical music seemingly coming from a back room. The space itself was air conditioned and the people seemed friendly enough. All and all, it was nice.

“This place has power and we don’t?”

Glancing over at JJ you shushed him lightly, smiling apologetically to the middle aged woman who was now giving the two of you a once over.

In a more hushed tone, he added, “Plus, it smells.”

Watching as he wrinkled his nose dramatically, you sighed, “Stop being such a baby. It won’t take long, then we can hang out.”

hi, my name is ezra. i’m 21 and terminally ill, and this past week my health has taken a very dangerous turn.

on monday, october 28, i went to work in the morning like usual. everything was fine and normal. i got home and decided to take a nap, since i was pretty tired. this is plenty normal for me, since i suffer from pretty heavy chronic fatigue. however, when i woke up, i didn’t know who i was, where i was, who my partner and roommates were. i could barely stumble out to the living room, and i couldn’t even hold a glass of water to try and sip from it. i suddenly have a lazy eye i’ve never had. ever since that day, i’ve been struggling with basic mobility on my right side and forgetting nearly everything. i wake up most mornings and barely know my own name.

wednesday night, it was bad enough that my roommate made me go to the emergency room. there was and still is high suspicion that i had a stroke. my CT scan came back clear, but i was told that doesn’t mean i didn’t stroke or am not going to have a stroke. i tried to go back to work, but i can barely sit up or type and i worked a desk job. i had no choice but to resign. it sucks, but i worked at a computer and this post already has taken me 3 days to type.

i have to make an emergency neurologist appointment to get an MRI. the biggest worry now is that i had a stroke, but it could be a multitude of serious issues. it’s scary.

i’m using this post to ask for help. i have medical bills now, plus just...the cost of living (rent, electricity, phone, etc) since i’m leaving my job. anything helps, and even if you can’t help a reblog does wonders. kind messages are also very appreciated. i may not respond, but i do keep nice messages to look at when i need them.

500 followers drabble game

Hello! I’ll soon be approaching a milestone of 500 followers. I’m really delighted and flattered that people are following what I write, and so I wanted to give back a bit and do a fun game with you all! 

Send me an ask with the sci-fi prompt you like and a BTS member. I’ll post you a drabble when I hit 500 followers. Drabbles will likely be around 500 words or less.

A young lawyer graduates into a world where, for the first time, brain scans can accurately detect lies.

“I have to deactivate you. I’m sorry.”

A man wakes to find himself trapped in a Holodeck-like virtual reality simulator. The thing is, he’s not sure he wants to leave.

“Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.”

A civilization faces its destruction as one of its moons breaks orbit and plunges toward the planet.

“This isn’t a religious retreat. It’s a science experiment. And you’re the mouse.”

It’s 2030, and the newest trend is to have one’s eyes replaced with implants that record and upload everything you see for all the world to watch.

“It’s not really a fly. If you swat it, they’ll just fine you and send two more.”

The only child aboard a space station saves the day when its crew is plagued by a debilitating illness that only affects adults.
