tenna was an instant hit because of his shippability with so many other characters in pairings that just make So Much Sense:

spamton/tenna: iconic divorced couple. essentially canon. your huge tv/the popup notification on your phone. foreshadowed like crazy. sharing custody of a child but tenna doesn't recognise him, somehow. his little mailman.

queen/tenna: evil girlboss & pathetic malewife. old tech vs new tech. she's overbearing and he's needy. perfect codependence. she'd bully the hell out of him. both divorced once already. bound to start an electrical fire

mettaton/tenna: mettaton literally calls tenna his "awakening". i saw the tv glow if your tv was sentient. the young performer & his stage. something something tv taught me how to feel now real life has no appeal

in yakimono, when Will is freed by Hannibal from the BSHCI his first thought after stopping by to see his dogs is to drive all the way to Hannibal's house, break in and threaten him with a gun.

I think that in this scene Will doesn't shoot him not because of the way he feels for Hannibal, as he was still not ready to accept the truth but because he realised that Hannibal is the only one who can understand him. Will admits that he's following his urges, that he's not innocent and he wants to kill Hannibal.

He spares him because in that very last moment, he feels that Hannibal is enjoying it, he knows that the games are only beginning. The game of who will kill the other first. It wouldn't be fun for neither Will nor Hannibal if it had ended this way. It lacks the element of surprise, it's too easy and kind for Will to give Hannibal an ending as simple as this and well guns lack intimacy..

I truly love how this scene is just so reflective of who Will is becoming, right after he understood that Alana was sleeping with Hannibal when she asked him to not kill Hannibal. He doesn't give Alana the satisfaction, it can be seen as an act of jealousy too, proving himself that not only he can hurt Hannibal but he also wants to and no one can stop him.

there's little to be said about any of the ace attorney characters, but nonetheless, i will take the risk of sounding redundant.

despite being a deeply unserious series, the pwaa trilogy has a certain je nais se qoui about the way that different characters respond to trauma. sometimes theyre a maya fey, a person who smiles regardless of grief and accusations thrown their way because theres people that need them to be their anchor. sometimes theyre like miles edgeworth, and they isolate themselves from the world because its easier to shut people out than it is to let people in. because letting people in means feeling vulnerable, and vulnerability means you can get hurt. sometimes theyre an adrian andrews, who have such little self worth that theyd rather be anyone but themselves, and they latch onto different mentors, and different identities, trying to find something that could make them feel good about themselves. sometimes theyre a franziska von karma, and they hold themselves to an impossibly high standard, even when no one else does, because theyd rather die than be seen as incapable. and sometimes theres a phoenix wright, someone whos very being revolves around devotion, to the point where they dont know who they are if they cant be of use.

this is why i think, that the sibling relationships are central to its story telling. its all different reactions to the same events. they're all so different but they're all so similar. many thoughts

i dont think im as coherent as id like to be to express the idea that i want to express, but ill revisit this eventually with better words and a clearer mind
