why do i have to live in the timeline where when i say "oh i rlly like sherlock holmes!" people go "the show?" instead of assuming the far superior original product: the actual fucking books

My friend performed a Sherlock Holmes themed play, and they sent me one picture of them, where they were STRUTTING like the streets of London were a catwalk. So here is Holmes doing the very same.

I just reada really good fic but halfway through I realized "oh shit this is really familiar.... didn't I write something like this once?" And as I kept reading I kept predicting what happened next and the further I went the more convinced I was that they'd ripped off my story-
like, copied the ENTIRE plot and re-written it, just better than I had? The characters were more fleshed-out than mine were, and the POV was more interesting, and the pace made more sense- but it was MY STORY?
So close to the end I was like "holy shit.. do I message them? Ask if my story inspired theirs? Should I be angry? Flattered?" Cause their tags and description didn't mention me AT ALL, which, sure, it's fanfiction to begin with, but if you're using my work than at least credit me as inspo, right? Just to be courteous?
But I get to the end of the final chapter, and it's not finished, and I'm kind of disappointed cause I never finished my story and I was really immersed in their version now and had been looking forwards to seeing how they tied up my loose ends- so I scroll to the bottom to leave a comment, and.
It's MY URL.
IT WAS MY STORY THE WHOLE TIME.
THE ONE *I WROTE*.
In *2013*.
And FORGOT ABOUT
BECAUSE I WAS SO INSECURE ABOUT MY SLOPPY, SHALLOW, AMETEUR WRITING
And I'm just sitting here now staring into space thinking about every shitty story I've ever written now like
IT WAS ALL GOOD?
IT WAS GOOD THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME??

I'M A GOOD WRITER?????

What are some examples of Alex being awkward around women on Taskmaster?
I wanna make another compilation and thought this might be a fun one to do. Already fished around on reddit for some suggestions and had quite a lot but thought I might as well ask on here as I feel the Horne knowledge runs deeper.

I can’t draw to save my life, but I *can* write silly little taglines, so here are some fan-made print ads I made for Dropout.tv!
Was this an excuse to make puns out of the different show names? Yes, yes it was. My creative writing degree is being put to good use I swear…
The overall style was inspired by Dropout's logo, and I tried to incorporate each show’s logo text into the ads too just to add some variety to the minimal colour scheme.
Also, here’s video proof that I did in fact drive myself insane making these (in a good way ofc, this was so much fun and I’m so happy with how these came out :))
All the fonts I used are below the read more line if you're interested because I don’t wanna make this post any longer than it already is!
@dropoutdottv @samreich @gamechangershow
Font list! (So others don’t have to go through the same pain I did.)
Dropout.tv font: Raleway Black
Game changer font: Pater Script Pro Regular
Collegehumor font: Saucy Millionaire Regular
Um, Actually font: Jolly Angel Regular
Dirty Laundry font: Arial Rounded MT Bold

helloooo this is a MASTER POST of my Sherlock Holmes annotations, aka shitpost doodles of my favorite parts with occasional headcanons. I will pin this so it's available and update it as I go because this feels like it's becoming a full series, god help me.
I'm reading the stories in the order they occurred (according to Baring-Gould, who I am currently arm wrestling in the astral plane over how many wives Watson had) so that's how I will present them!
EDIT: decided to draw them in the order that makes sense to me, Baring-Gould you’re too silly
EDIT 2: this is basically a webcomic at this point, with ongoing continuity and a romantic storyline that can be enjoyed if you read in order. I did not intend this, but I have Sherlock Holmes disease and there's only one cure (doing this)
EDIT 3: content warning/advertisement depending on your temperament: this series gets into one of my big interests, historical queerness, period accurate homophobia, and how laws around queerness affected lived experience. it also has things that you can expect from a Sherlock Holmes story like: drug use involving needles, violence, flagrant use of old timey guns, and people dying in shocking and mysterious ways!
