sfw, heian sukuna tries to apologise to his angry wife
Tumblr media
It's been three days, and you still refused to speak to your husband.
No teasing words were spoken. No more shy glances were thrown his way. Not even a shared bath — and that was a punishment more cruel than a sword to the throat.
Sukuna stood just outside the inner courtyard like a foreigner in his own temple, all four of his eyes narrowed as he watched you kneel in the garden. One of his four large hands clutched something meant for you. Your face was turned away from him, silken robes clinging to your untouched flesh as your fingers tenderly caressed a blooming rose.
Even in your stubborn silence, did Sukuna find you utterly captivating.
This was all truly a spectacle for the maids residing in the temple. They had all witnessed him execute men for lesser offenses than the long-winded scolding you gave him yesterday. But . . . this silence?
The total disregard of his existence?
It was unbearable. Sukuna was miserable.
He cleared his throat. Tentatively, like he was going against the very nature of his cursed being.
You didn’t look up.
"You are . . . displeased with me.”
A scoff left you. Your head remained bowed ever so slightly as your eyes narrowed at your husbands words.
"What an insightful observation, dear husband."
Sukuna grunted in response, still standing by the edge of the courtyard. The sarcasm in your voice hit him like venom injected straight into his veins.
This would take more effort. Much more effort.
He stepped into the garden, heavy footsteps dragging against the grass as he made his way to you. His wife.
Something was set down beside you, a flash of yellow gracing your eyes. When you glanced down, you saw the small bowl filled to the brim with mango chunks.
“Are you bribing me?” you said flatly, although your fingers twitched with the urge to indulge in your favourite snack.
“A peace offering.”
You stayed quiet at that yet again, turning your attention back onto the roses with an increasingly heavy ache in your heart.
Sukuna paused. He watched your hands. The stubborn way your lower lip jutted out in a pout. The irratated yet gentle stroke of your finger as you admired the red petals. Then, he knelt beside you. He was twice your size, cloaked in a robe that beckoned you to come closer. Yet you resisted.
“Say something, please,” he murmured.
You stiffened, eyes cast down. Now he wanted to listen?
“You didn’t listen to me before. I told you not to bring your business into our temple."
A heavy pause, filled with regret on your husbands end.
“I know, and I was wrong.”
And finally, you looked his way. Sukuna? Admitting he was wrong? The maids observing discreetly were taken aback, jaws wide open as the King of Curses apologised.
“. . . Sorry?"
He looked at you, truly looked at you with all four ruby eyes unwavering and determined. “I. Was. Wrong. I am more than happy to repeat myself again if that is what you desire."
You decided to test his limits. Just to see if he was as sorry as he looked. "And what else are you sorry for, husband?"
For a man who usually spoke with his bare fists and teeth, this was already proving to be rather challenging. Nevertheless, if a more sincere apology was what his wife wanted, then who was he to deny her?
“I should not have dismissed your words as mere foolishness. My behaviour was completely irrational, and it endangered you."
You watched him warily. The King of Curses. That title rang in your head once his eyes met yours. Your husband, yes, but he was also the same man that had struck down countless foes in his lifetime.
Yet now, he was kneeling in your garden before you, offering fruits in order to win your heart back. He was trying to apologize like a man, your husband, and not a monster.
You exhaled slowly. This had gone on for long enough.
“…Fine,” you murmured, plucking a singular piece of mango from the bowl and nibbling at it, accepting his offering.
Sukuna dared to reach out, holding his breath as he brushed your cheek with the backs of his fingers. So, so delicately.
"Do you forgive me?”
“. . . Maybe."
But when Sukuna sat beside you, you didn't move. You let him pull your free hand into his. And when he gently grazed a piece of mango against your lips to feed you, you let him.
You let him apologise in silence. You let him try, for once.
Sukuna always would. Always, when it came to his beloved wife.

not quite sure what time i woke up today (probably around 11). it is now 4:30 and i’ve yet to get out of bed once. i just can’t bring myself to do it. i’ve literally needed to go to the bathroom for the past two hours and i just can’t.
sorry to kinda just dump this on you, but i just don’t really know anymore. lowkey i was motivated to get up before my family got home, but now that they’re here, i can’t do it. but i might go watch eddington or how to train your dragon again 🤷‍♀️
hi sorry I was sleeping when this was sent. I hope you've managed to get up, even if it's for a little walk around your room. I won't ask why you become demotivated once your family came but your wellbeing comes first. Go to the bathroom and listen to what your body is telling you please !! I hope you feel better soon
