                  Eyvyn’s slight worry eases when she puts the knife down, he chuckles. “Well, it’s kind of my fault for leaving it out, I had to deal with the flowers and roots I just cut up first though and wash my hands.” He was immune to the poison, being what he was, but he knew Rosie probably wasn’t. “I’ll clean it now though.”

The carved Raven’s head was beautiful.  She smiled as her fingers ran over the surface of it, feeling where his tools had cut into the wood.  She placed it around her neck before leaning in to kiss him softly.

“I love it, Eyvyn.  It’s so beautiful.”

She was in love.  She knew she was.  She could spend hours simply talking with the vampire.  Sometimes it was conversation about the shop.  Or her clients.  Sometimes about memories of the past or others about simple things like the weather.

It was as if she had known him for a hundred years.

Her soul would always search for his, she knew.

Taking Eyvyn’s hand, she kissed it.

“You have very skilled hands.”

               Eyvyn smiles as she put the necklace on, he beams a little bit when she kissed his cheek, moving a little to sit closer to her and just watch everyone in the room, they were all happy with their individual gifts.

“I’m glad, I was worried you wouldn’t...”

He shakes his head at that and he looked at her. Every now and then, he’d get glimpses of her past self, the moments they had shared together, it made him wonder why he blocked all of it out, but he supposed at the time it’d been too painful, given how abruptly they’d been separated by tragedy.

He was brought out of those thoughts when she took his hand and kissed it, he smiles at her.

“I mean, I guess, I’ve had just over a hundred years to practise...”

Even then he still sometimes doubted how good he was.
