Who IS Ada 1, I don’t know much about her other then just the black sensory and she runs it basically and even then

Ada’s story is very interesting! Black Armory Papers is the lorebook on her mother and her, it’s a really neat lorebook.

To summarise: Ada-1 was born as Adelaide Meyrin, daughter to Henriette Meyrin, one of the Black Armory founders (other two founders are Yuki Satou and Helga Rasmussen: Black Armory is some girlboss shit). They founded the Black Armory specifically to fight back the Darkness. They didn’t know it was the Darkness, they just knew something else was detected (an “anomaly”) and decided to be ready in case it’s hostile.

Black Armory Forges fell during the Collapse, despite the founders’ best efforts to save the technology and use it to fight back. Unfortunately, they did not succeed and Henriette hid with her daughter in one of the forges during the events of the Collapse. Thanks to Henriette’s journal, we have an eyewitness account of the events. Henriette’s daughter, Adelaide was injured during the attack on the facility. 

Henriette is desperate at this point and she and Yuki decide that the only way to save Adelaide is to put her into an Exo body. However, no one has ever made an Exo outside of Braytech. Helga (who died during the attack) used to work for Braytech so Black Armory had some knowledge about the Exos, but they basically had to wing it in order to do this. The project succeeds, Adelaide is transferred into an Exo body and her human body is buried. She is now Ada-1 and has no memories of who she is.

Henriette can’t bear to tell her because she feels guilty, but she keeps her journal. They leave the Black Armory facility and start doing the same thing all humans did after the Collapse: going around aimlessly, trying to find some refuge.

Across their journeys, they get in contact with first Risen who are always very violent Warlords. It’s where Ada’s distrust of Lightbearers comes from. She spent the entire Dark Age running and fighting and hiding from Warlords.

Henriette also installed an Obsidian Accelerator into Ada, turning her into a mobile Forge to keep the Black Armory alive. Warlords often attacked them to acquire this so Henriette later took it away from Ada and ran away with it to keep Ada safe. The Final Entry of the lorebook is Henriette telling Ada who she really is. It’s a page of the Black Armory papers that we returned to Ada eventually, alongside the Obsidian Accelerator. She was very thankful and began trusting Guardians more.

Ada-1 is unique in the sense that she’s the only Exo we know of that wasn’t made by Braytech, therefore she was not made from the same components (Vex radiolaria purified by Clarity Control (Darkness)). Black Armory used something else to make her and it seems to have worked better because Ada does not appear to need resets or suffer from DER. She’s been alive since the Collapse but has never had a reset which is quite extraordinary. 

She is also built differently; for example, her face doesn’t have the usual Exo mouth type which implies she does not need to eat or at least doesn’t eat in the same way other Exos do, since her mouth does not move and does not have an opening. 

Basically, two Black Armory ladies in grief and stress made a better Exo in the basement in a post-Collapse world than Clovis Bray did with all of his wealth and knowledge. Ada is 100% unique and a treasure tbh, because she could be the key for new Exo production methods. I assume Exo-Rasputin will have some of her technology since Ada was helping Ana with him. We have yet to see that tho.
