Welcome to Unexpected Duos: The BNHA Rare Pair Exchange!

Your premier fanworks exchange for rare ships in the Boku no Hero Academia fandom!

Participants either write a newly created fanfiction of at least 1000 words or create an original piece of art of at least 600x600px fulfilling one of their recipient’s requests. Recipients don’t know who’s writing or drawing for them until creators are revealed at the end of the exchange. All BNHA relationships with fewer than 150 works on AO3 (Completed, in English) are allowed. Gen and shippy relationships are both welcome, as are all ratings and genres of fanworks. Since fanworks of all ratings are allowed in the exchange, each participant will be able to select the highest rating they consent to offer and the highest rating they would like to receive for each ship in their signup!

Will the prompts be the same this year, or are you guys gonna change them? I'm only asking cause I know some ship weeks change up the prompts every year so people can get more creative

Haven’t really decided with mod Goat yet. Might change it to go along with new themes since we already have content for the ones of last year.

Some things to consider, when applying: because this is a rarepaire zine, we are looking for variety, in ships and characters. Though ability is going to be considered above all else, your range of interests and willingness to work with less common ships and characters will be more likely to catch our eye, should it come down to that!

Applications are due on February 26th, but please note that we are not asking for any new content, only links to completed works and lists of ships and characters, so the sooner you submit, the better!

Hi, mods!! Thank you so much for hosting this event. I've been a little busy with schoolwork and all, but I'm really excited to look through all of this new content and see what everyone created! I feel like this was such a fun event for the fandom, and so I really appreciate the time that must have been put into this to make it so successful. c:

For sure!  We had a lot of fun putting it together and watching all the amazing work come in!  With this kind of success, we’re pretty sure we’ll be doing this again next year!
