Hi everyone! With all zines being sent out, we've found we have leftovers of a lot of our merch– so we're going to put it on sale!

You'll be able to purchase merch individually, instead of through bundles, so you can pick exactly what you want. We even have a couple of physical zines left over! 👀

Our surplus merch is all in incredibly limited quantities, so expect these to go fast! This will be the last time ANY Showroom Certified zines or merch will be available, so don't miss out!

Don't forget, all profits from Showroom Certified will be donated to the Trevor Project, so purchasing from us helps fund a good cause too!

Community Hang-Outs, Agony Hour, and more! 🎉

Happy Friday to our beloved and brave creator-participants! We have some updates based on feedback we've received from participants across the board.

Basically: people (including your mods!) have been feeling a little isolated and a lot stressed out by the upcoming July deadline and the work they have yet to do. We hate hearing that because you all were so so so brave about signing up and committing to the works -- we want you all to feel good about the work you're creating and how much you have to contribute to your fandom(s) and the ways in which you are doing such good work!

So in light of that we are in the process of setting up the following:

Community Hang-Outs and Coworking

Mods Max & Goose will be alternating hosting TLF community hang-outs and co-working Thursdays and Saturdays. Times will vary based our timezones and our commitment to supporting as many of you as we can, as broadly as we can -- but they will be Thursday nights and Saturday mornings in North American timezones. Platform yet to be determined, but we should have that set up by next Saturday at the latest for our morning work co-working hours with Mod Goose. We will be running productivity sprints and cheerleading whoever shows up and gassing you all up for a good time. We're hoping this makes everyone, including us, less isolated and more inspired to work on our projects!

We will post reminders the day-of. When we figure out a platform, we will post links all over this blog 🥳

Agony Hour

We are big fans of complaining about our creative projects and we know that for a lot of people, complaining about your writing/art/project can be productive for getting your wiggles out. We'll be opening the TLF ask inbox once a month on the first Monday of the month from 9pm-10pm ET for Agony Hour, where you can complain at length about your works. Anon will be on! After agony hour ends, we will close the inbox again.

Complaints about winning bidders or other participants will be deleted. Specific questions about the fest will be directed to the email. But if you have beef with your own project and need to yell about it, this is the space to do it.

Our first Agony Hour will be this Monday 🗣️

And finally.... talk to us if you need help!

Talk to us if you're having serious issues completing your work, interfacing with your bidder(s), anxiety about the fest, anything that you made need help with here!

We are not interested in being punitive and reactionary mods who take a hard line that makes your life worse, particularly when so many of you were so so so brave about signing up for the first time. We want to work with you to make this an enjoyable experience that you enjoyed and that you look back at the works you made feeling pride, rather than stress or anxiety. So if you're in a place where you're not sure you'll be able to complete your works, or there's serious communication issues with your bidders, or there is a roadblock that is preventing you from doing your best work, talk to us 💙💙

We also know it is at this point fairly apparent which blogs belong to the mods, and while we would prefer you reach out to the email, we know that emailing to ask for help can be very scary, so if the only way you are able to reach out for help without having a nervous breakdown is by Tumblr, DM us and we'll discuss. We want to help you!

Thank you to the participants who reached out to us to talk through their anxieties and letting us know that you all want/need extra support. It's caused us to look more carefully at our policies and the ways we want to run this fest/what kind of mods we want to be. We really appreciate your honesty and bravery 💙✨

Mod Announcement

In the wake of current events, the mod team would like to reiterate that Merlin Bingo, including the event itself, this tumblr, and the discord server are all safe spaces for any members and participants that come under the trans umbrella--and always will be.

The Hogwarts AU prompt has been removed from the prompts list, and will not appear on any bingo cards.

We will also not be allowing any discussion of harry potter, or Rowling in the server itself; there are more than enough other spaces on the internet to do so, and we are taking into account how often our trans participants are having to see it.

We aren't forbidding the appearance of harry potter characters or settings in your bingo fills, however we would ask you to consider the real world harms enacted against members of our community by its creator before doing so. If you are unsure about this, you can speak to one of the mod team via email or DM on discord.
