Could u do an body analysis on Al recent insta post of her and michael facetime each other before the show
Hello! Take this with a grain of salt because it's a picture, there might be some element missing or this could be acted.
The only thing I can say on the matter is whether or not they are being genuine. Not if they actually talk before every or most of Michael's shows.
He looks visibly tired.
Michaels wrinkles are more prominent and deeper in this pic compared to the ones during the awards. Could he because of the angle of the camera and her he's semi looking down. Even when he smiles widely, you can still see a bit more of his eyes. A sweet look to them like the image below. Here, he just looks tired.
Edit: it's been pointed out that he's sick so that tiredness comes from that.
His upper and lower eyelids close his eyes a lot more. The cheekbones are out and lifted, causing his eyes to produce more wrinkles and close his eyes.
His smile isn't exaggerated. It's there present, however compared to their instances when he has actually smiles, make me believe that perhaps in this picture, we has forcing his smile to some degree. Maybe he was happy or positive, but the tiredness makes out smiles a bit less noticeable andhe really wanted to show he was happy. I don't know if Anna told him ahe was going to take a picture, causing him to pose.
Tumblr media
On her part, she has her mouth closed and because it is a video call, she knows which angles look beat on her. Her chin being slightly out is done so a double isn't present or for her eyes not too have a shadow over them because of the lighting.
Anna doesn't know how to smile. Her smiles are always off. You'd have to take a video or picture of her smiling without her noticing o really make her smile.
Overall, could be that he was being genuine and widened his smile a but for the picture.
Regarding whether or not they talk every time before the show, there's no way of knowing this without a video of one of them, or both, stating that.

Olivier Awards
We'll be looking into mainly photos so take this with a grain of salt.
Facial expressions can be lost and because this is an award show people pose and try to look their best.
The body language in this post will be more prominent because it could be an unconscious decision on how DT/MS/GT/AL show themselves. On the other hand, they've been taught (most likely) how to be in award shows and in front of cameras. The facial expression can be forced because they're aware that they are being photographed.
I most of the videos and images are sourced from @ingravinoveritas @/fuckyeahgoodomens and @/michaelsheendaily (not tagging on purpose) plus a few others. Because there's many videos here I'll be linking the posts.
First off, we'll be looking at MS/AL during the red carpet. That includes the videos and photos taken. The photos and videos happen at the same time so we'll have a better image of the body language and facial expressions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first thing want to point out is how Michael and Anna smile. Michael, throughout the carpet, had the same smile. One way that people try to make their smile look real is by smiling really big. Even though his eyes are smaller and the corners of the lips are lifted, the cheekbones aren't engaged, just lifted because the wide smile is stretched (except for the last two images).
Tumblr media
Here we can see how he goes from his genuine smile to his default 'photograph' smile. Doesn't mean he wasn't happy to engage with people, he was just posing for the camera.
Something to note about Anna is that she doesn't smile much in her daily life so when she does smile, real or not, she doesn't know how it really feels and it looks off. It's asymmetrical, her lips stretch out but never curve up and her eyes + eyebrows stay the same. Her cheeks are always tense as well (I'll go more into details on another post). The only instances of her where it seems like she's really smiling is one on her instagram from Michael's 54th birthday and the image below.
Tumblr media
This is them arriving (please correct me if I'm wrong) to the awards. Michael walks along side Anna, not too in front, just enough to guide as they spot the cameras or people.
They aren't looking at each other, but Anna is naturally smiling. Her face isn't tense, eyes smaller, corner of lips raised, cheekbones also raised and her eyes are soft.
Michael acting surprised at the sight of the people. His eyebrows are raise and hit mouth open, but the white part of his upper eyelid isn't visible. He's just putting up a show. That could be why Anna is smiling or they couldn't been talking or any other reason.
These three videos are also from the event. The first two on the carpet and the third before the posed pictures.
As far as body language goes, Michael is more often than not, in front of Anna while she holds his arm. In a dynamic/relationship whoever stands in front or leads while holding hands is the one who's the 'leader'. This role is usually taken by the man in a man/woman dynamic/relationship.
Michael doesn't tug at her or drags her along. He gives her a cue 'okay let's go' doesn't wait for a verbal response, then they both move and walk semi-parallel to each other. He's not dragging her or walking ten steps in front, they're walking as a unit. They've been to enough award shows to have a good idea of where to go and how to look.
Now the third video (before the carpet photos) is them taking pictures with people. That's also where the gif above took place.
Tumblr media
The video starts on 00:10. Anna moves past Michael while touching his left shoulder to go greet/take pictures with fans. Michael turns at the touch then goes back to the fans. Even though he's far away from the camera, a smile can still be seen.
Tumblr media
She stops for a second next to him before she gives her autograph to a fan. As she's walking to Michael, she's looking down then looks to her left until she see's the man signaling to her, asking for an autograph. She's surprised - eyes widen, stiff face. Anna takes pictures with two other people.
Throughout this video, neither of them interact except for one second during the beginning when Anna touches Michael.
Michael continues going down the line as Anna takes pictures with a few people then follow Michael. They both don't look at each other, even when Anna is waiting for Michael, she looks around or at other people. Michael is focusing on the people in line and not paying attention to where Anna is. He continues to move without her.
He never turns to where she is. They never touch each other, only when the press are taking pictures.
Overall they aren't hostile to each other. They just don't care what the other is doing. Michael is there to give an award and Anna is there as his plus one (most likely). When they are not longer close to the fans and it's just them two in front of the press, then they pay attention to where the other is. However, there is never any eye contact there either. Michael gives her the cue then they move, but never look at each other. In couples (or people who have feelings for each other) eye contact or the want to look at their partners faces is mostly present.
Tumblr media
Focusing just on Michael -
He's tired. His smile throughout the evening, let's his smile fall when people aren't looking directly at him very and picks it back up quickly. In the video where he tells Anna to go, his smile stiffens and the corner of his lips go more horizontal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, Michael is leaning towards Anna, but his body isn't touching her much and she's standing with her back straight. He has his picture smile (really forced) while she's trying to do a smile. The left corner of her left (our right) is slightly raised, but her eyes and brows stay the same.
The name for the line that runs from the corner of the nose down to the corner of the lips is called the nasolabial fold or nasolabial furrow. Her left fold is also raise (because of her lips) making her face be in a sneer, which shows disgust, displeasure, viewing something/one as inferior, despise, viewing something/one as worthless, and is usually always tied with feelings of superiority. Depending on the situation that face is also made when feeling impatient and wanting to move things along.
Her left eye, if you zoom in, you can see that it's slightly more closed than the right eye, but that has nothing to do with this. She tends to smile asymmetrically all the time. People usually always have one eye smaller than the other and with time it can change which eye is smaller. Morphosychology talks about this personality traits tied with the facial structure (if you would like a post about that let me know).
----
Now in this video MS/AL and DT/GT are edited to be side by side.
With David and Georgia, David in most award shows, looks down to speak with her during pictures (it happens a lot so it could be planned or a habit).
David's and Georgia's smile look more bright. We can see their face relaxed as they smile for the camera after they speak to each other. He is also leaning towards her as we can also see in this image:
Tumblr media
Their chests are pressed together and his hand (a guess) is probably located on her mid to lower back. Georgia's head is tilting up, to where David's head is. Their smiles are stiff because a picture is being taken but all in all, they are comfortable with physical contact. David's chin is also up, but that's his default so it doesn't play much of a role. Like stated in previous analysis, sticking your chin out is a way of defiance, aggression, or self confidence in some cases.
In this video David is talking about how he hadn't done any Shakespeare plays in over ten years and how he never thought he would do Macbeth. His composure is relaxed, but still nervous. He took two breathes in which means he's trying to calm himself because he's nervous or agitated.
David and Georgia, like MS/AL, had forced smiles for the camera. Stiff, eyes stayed the same, cheekbones aren't lifted.
Tumblr media
The first image shows pure smugness and pride. Left lip corner is raised while the right one stays neutral. With asymmetrical smile, they usually mean smugness, feelings of superiority that's why you see a lot of people who label themselves as "alphas" smile like that.
David, perceives himself as attractive or feels like he looks good.
The second and third images are him smiling genuinely. Between David and Michael, David was more relaxed and felt content with most of the evening.
Here's more pictures of him genuinely smiling.
The forth image is a fake/forced smiled. There's more pictures of him forcing a smile, but like Michael, there's too many and would be overkill to put point out all of them.
How to spot a fake/forced smile: tense face, eyes and/or brows stay the same, cheekbones are only lifted but not engaged, corner of lips stretched or horizontal, and the eyes look neutral/without emotion. There's a sweet, happy, or prideful look in the eyes when it's a sincere smile.
In regards to Georgia, her presence there doesn't bother David and he makes sure to include her. They communicate throughout the evening and Georgia, from what I found, kept to herself. Her composure was neutral, no outward discomfort.
I already talked about the video backstage where she is signaling and probably telling the other three what should happen.
---
During the award ceremony -
Michael in this video is presenting an award. He appears on 0:30.
Tumblr media
This is his main face throughout the video. Tense smile. Not saying it's not real, because there are moments in the video where it looks real, however we can also see how forced it is after every pause in his sentences. It is real, just tense. Could be out of nervousness or some sort of inner conflict/tension on his part.
David during the ceremony, was genuine in his reactions. His surprise -
Tumblr media
also genuine. The times the camera was on him, showed his real reaction.
----
Now moving onto this moment:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second image is edited by me and the black is there so the lights in the back doesn't hurt our eyes too much.
Getting this out of the way: their smiles are fake because is picture is being taken and they're aware of what their faces are doing. So we'll be looking at the body language.
Now, Georgia isn't entirely comfortable with Michael.
He's touching her waist, not holding. Michael isn't pulling her closer, just resting his hand there. His left hand could be on David's waist or somewhere on his back.
Georgia is also resting her right hand on Anna's waist. Anna, from the look of her shoulder, is resting her left arm on Georgia or Michael.
David's right hand somewhere on Michael's back.
Edit: it's been pointed out that David could have his right hand on Michael's right shoulder. If you zoom into the image, you see something on his shoulder, that doesn't look like part of the suit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking into Anna and Georgia, they both seem to be comfortable enough around each other.
Georgia's lips are pressed thinly against each other. She's either not comfortable with Anna - being this close to her or having to touch her - or she's not comfortable with Michael touching her waist. There's discomfort on her part.
Anna is just trying to pose her best for the picture. She's probably leaning closer to Georgia so the picture turns out good, or because she's comfortable with Georgia and naturally leaned in. Could be either.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Georgia's left arm is stiff. Maybe because she's holding her clutch back and/or doesn't want to touch Michael too much. He's a step back to where she's standing, probably so they all fit in the picture.
Looking at it the other way, she's blocking him. Kind of like when you don't want to speak to the person next to you, so you just turn your back to them. In this case, Michael does have his hand on her waist so her discomfort could come from there. Or that's her forced smile face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both David's and Michael's smiles are for the camera. Doesn't mean that they weren't happy or anything like that. Just means they were posing for the camera.
Moving onto the body language. Because they are taking a picture, we have to take into account that both David and Michael are leaning both to the right (their right) so that they all fit in the picture.
Usually, when two (or three) people lean towards each other or lean in the same direction, that means they get along well. In couple, this is an excellent sign that they are getting along in recent times.
David and Michael both leaned in, while Georgia and Anna stayed standing straight.
David having the Olivier's folder in front of him could be in order to show the logo or because there isn't any other comfortable way for him to hold. Based on the situation, it doesn't seem like he felt the need to hide or somehow defend himself by putting the folder (a barrier) in front of him.
Over all, for David and Georgia, the evening was tranquil even when we take into consideration the backstage video.
Michael felt the need to have to plaster on a big smile. Could be that he was having a rough day/week or just wasn't feeling at 100%. Anna was like usual.
I feel the need to reiterate that just because their smiles for the cameras weren't all that genuine, doesn't mean that they weren't happy to see each other and by they I mean David and Michael. We don't have any images or videos of them interacting normally. Mostly just with Georgia and Anna and the backstage video, we only see the from above, not their faces and we don't know for certainly what they were talking about.
If I missed anything, please let me know! This day was very long and full of images and videos, so I could've missed something.

Not an analysis
I'm done with about half of the Olivier Awards post. It'll include both David and Michael as well as Georgia and Anna.
There's many links and images so I have to sort and edit them, that's why it's taken me longer than expected. I'm also looking into the body language of GT and AL during the event. I don't know exactly when the post will be up, but it should be ready sometime this week!

Update:
A new video has been posted! Thanks @ingravinoveritas for sending me the link!
We can see Georgia clearly now. Her torso is facing David all the time and at the end she moves more to the right. Maybe adjusting the weight on he feet or indicating where she/they will go.
It's been pointed out (by @goddessofprocrastination) that Michael could've been talking to David when he's nodding his head at the start. We can see his head is always tilted to David and throughout the video, the only other person he looks at for a second is Anna. He seems to be listening the those around him, but he's directing his attention more to David. We can't see his eyes, but his head tilting to the right, positioned to where David is, and at the end moving his body towards him, really does look like Michael's focus is on David.
David at the beginning of the video is talking to Georgia but at the end says something to Michael. He could be the middle man in this conversation trying for everyone to be contempt with the outcome or come up with ideas or something along those lines. Point is: he's the middle man.
Apart from that my initial analysis still stands. Looks like they're planning on what to do and there's no aggressiveness from anyone there. Michael seems agitated/frustrated/or impatient. Some reasons that could cause that is not being heard, repeating himself, not getting his way, or the conversation not going anywhere. Could also be any other reason.
Again, let me know if there is anything I've missed!

Quick analysis suggested by @phantomstars24 !
I'll still be doing the rest of the night, but I felt like this moment could stand alone.
From left to right: Anna - Michael - David - Georgia
Observing their surroundings -
The place seems to be loud/noisy. The people sitting behind David get closer to each other to hear each other better. Could also be that they don't want others to listen in or are so engaged in the conversation that they get closer. There's also many people around them, but they're taking up the most space.
Overall gestures of the group -
Michael, David, and Georgia are shouting or talking loudly at each other. We can see David say something, point at Michael, then looks over at Georgia. Anna talks and tries to put her hand on Michaels shoulder, but he moves away.
David points at Michael or/and Anna while speaking, fidgets with the folder/papers he's holding, looks at Georgia then back at Michael.
Georgia points at everyone as a group with her index finger making a circle, then point David and at herself. Anna looks to Michael and touches or tries to touch his shoulder. Michael nods multiple times, looks and backs away from her.
Anna -
Listening - says something causing Michael to look at her for half a second, tries to put her hand on his shoulder but he moves away closer to David. Anna is standing slightly behind Michael.
Michael -
Nods while David speaks and points at him. He's listening to what David and Georgia are saying but by the angle that his head is, Michael is putting most of his attention on David. Nods his head as Anna speak. Hears Anna speak, looks at her for a split second, shifts his weight onto his left leg, moving away from Anna and closer to David and continues to put his focus onto David. Michael is standing slightly in front of Anna.
David -
Talks while pointing at Michael. Looks at Georgia as his fidgets with the papers/folder he's holding. Looks back at Michael and says something. There's a lot of space between him and Georgia, but he's standing closer to Michael. The folder/papers are on his left side, where Georgia is standing.
Georgia -
Makes a circle with her index finger, indicating all of them, then points at them and herself individually while talking. There's a significant amount of space between her and David, Michael, and Georgia. She's also facing away from them. Her torso is pointing past David. Starts moving away.
Michael seems impatient or frustrated. Quickly nodding his head to what David and Georgia are saying. Snapping his head to Anna, quickly looking and moving away.
David is not sure on what to do. Looking off as he's speaking then fidgeting. His eyebrows seem to be raised. Can be to help him think better or to calm himself down. When he directly looks at Michael, his eyebrows furrow or relax. Remind me when someone is confirming something with another.
Anna's shoulder touch Michael could be two things: to calm him down or to signal that she'll be with Michael. "I'll go with him"/"I'm sticking with him"
Georgia is ready to leave. Fast hand movements signify a sense of wanting to hurry/wrap things up and her body facing away from all of them is also a sign of wanting to/being reading to leave. At the end of this clip, you can see her moving further away.
Overall they were probably talking about who's leaving with who or just making plans on what they were all going to do next. Georgia was ready to leave. Michael was impatient/frustrated/disagreeing with something. David wasn't sure on what to do or how to plan this out. David is holding the folder in his left arm, consciously or unconsciously putting a barrier between himself and Georgia. Anna was mostly keeping herself out of it, retrieving her hand when Michael rejects it.
Let me know if I missed anything!

Listening - says something causing Michael to look at her for half a second, tries to put her hand on his shoulder but he moves away closer to David. Anna is standing slightly behind Michael.
Edit: it's been pointed on (in the comments) that Anna told Michael that someone was trying to pass by so her moved. Her head looks behind Michael, possibly towards the person passing, and slightly nods her head as Michael moves away.

Nods while David speaks and points at him. He's listening to what David and Georgia are saying but by the angle that his head is, Michael is putting most of his attention on David. Talks while pointing at Michael. Looks at Georgia as his fidgets with the papers/folder he's holding. Looks back at Michael and says something. There's a lot of space between him and Georgia, but he's standing closer to Michael. The folder/papers are on his left side, where Georgia is standing.

Assembly - Michael and David
Now for all of David's bits!
This is not the interview so (do)n't click on it.
They will all be on this post. Might be a bit long, but I didn't see a reason to make multiple post because some sections are too short.
Keep in mind that Michael is an actor.
5:24 - 5:47
"Who's the rudest celebrity that you've met?"
"Have you heard of a man called David Tennant?"
This part, he's just acting/playing saying David is 'Doctor Rude.
____________
Tumblr media
"The rudest man."
Has a genuine smile - cheeks puffed, corners of the lips up, lower eyelids are up making his eyes noticeably smaller and his wrinkles around the eyes are more prominent.
"No, he's not really. He's lovely. He's very nice."
Wide smile, lower eyelids up, smaller eyes, corners up, lips relaxed, cheeks puffed, quickly licks his lips then smiles. No surprise here, he's happy talking/remembering David. Licking his lip and smiling can mean a few things: he's 'savoring' a thought or he's being mischievous/playful/trickster/ or he's just joking.
____________
18:02 - 18:07
Tumblr media
"How about Doctor Who?" (Do you like Doctor Who?)
"Depends on which one."
Nods, eyebrows relax lips tight, licks lips, then smiles.
Before Michael says 'Doctor Who' in the beginning, he already has a slight smile, but that's more of a diplomatic smile. When he relaxes his brows, that's a sign that he's considering his answer/is more concentrated.
Tightens his lips to stop himself from talking or saying/showing too much, then licks them as he smiles. Whatever information he's trying to hold back amuses/causes happiness in some way.
It can be argued that he's smiling because of he reaction from those around him, but he was already holding back the smile before they started to laugh and Michael couldn't hold it back once he heard them.
____________
21:06 - 21:42
"If you were in Doctor Who, who would you play? The Doctor or the Master?"
"I think the master would be a good part."
His eyes are narrow - thinking and analyzing his reasons/answer. His volume is also low/quiet.
"They'd have to bring David Tennant back as Doctor Who."
I can't see his face well because of how far the camera is, but something I noticed us that Michael's tone of voice/volume went up. There was emphasis on the 'back'. It slowly starts to pick up volume as the sentence goes on, up until 'back'.
____________
22:48 - 23:26
"Can you walk us through the before, the during, and the after of your passionate kiss with David Tennant?"
Tumblr media
Looking off, mouth open - thinking/processing the question. He's listening as he goes through his memories. When he hears David's name, he laughs which to me sounds forcefully. Michael throws himself back as he laughs, but his eyes are still off somewhere else.
He is listening and reacting, but it seems on autopilot. Michael is still in his head and laughs when he hears the people around him. Doesn't mean that the smile is fake. It's genuine, but his laugh is a bit lost because he's still thinking.
Tumblr media
"I remember reading the script and thinking 'that's gonna be a big deal'." Image 1
Nods as he speaks - congruent to what he's saying.
His face on the first image means 'yep, that's it'.
Image 2: Lower eyelids up, cheeks puffed, corners of lips up, thin lips, tense face - Michael is once again, refraining from speaking or reacting/showing too much. His face is tense even with the smile meaning he's really stepping on the breaks.
"Didn't really talk about it and just went for it." Image 3
Face still a but tense, but he's not faking the smile. A fake smile can be mostly seen in the eyes and cheeks. Michael is smiling a real smile in this case (if you're not sure about it go look at the 'smiles' he would do when speaking about AL). He's just trying to hold back the smile, hence the tension.
Tumblr media
"I remember seeing that everyone was quite moved by the scene and all the people who were there working on it."
The images above happen during the highlighted part.
Head tilts to the right, visibly and audibly swallows, slight frown, and tense face. The tone of voice also falls in this part.
Swallowing saliva means nervousness/worry and the fact that we can SEE and HEAR it means that his emotional/mental state was shaken remembering that moment. Remembering how the people on set reacted, is something that Michael doesn't like. He's once again, omitting information on what really happened and holding back from sharing. Michael disapproves how the crew acted on set. (There's a written interview stating that some people on set were acting strange after the kiss scene so this reaction could be linked with that)
Tumblr media
"Yeah so we knew it had gone quite well."
Slight head nod, leans upper body forward then back, smiles.
His cheeks aren't as prominent, but there's still a slight horizontal smile. The eyes are smaller, but the corner of the lips are more horizontal and the wrinkles around the eyes aren't deeper. It's on the borderline, but it looks to be more of a real smile. From the tone of voice, Michael is still in his head, so his face reacts in a more softer way.
Tumblr media
"And now we never talk about it."
Shakes head no - congruent to what he said. There's a flash of sadness. Inner brows are slanted up, lips tight, cheeks aren't prominent, and corners of lips down. There's sadness or disappointment about the fact that they haven't talked about the kiss. That sadness is quickly turned into a genuine smile/laugh.
It could be that he was acting sad/disappointment then laughed it off because it was juts a joke. I doubt that was the case because the first image happened so fast that not many would see it without slowing down the video or paying close attention in person. It appeared for a fraction of the second (micro expressions are an involuntary reaction that lasts for less than a second showing what the person is truly thinking/feeling).
At the end, he does genuinely smile and laugh. Could be that Michael thought that what he said was funny/amusing + the reaction of those around. There could be other reason for his smile. Just know that he did smile and laugh honestly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"If I had the opportunity to kiss David Tennant I would never live it down."
"Well maybe one day you will - maybe one day you will."
Brows raise, white part of upper eyes not visible, mouth shut - surprised but not too much. More like a 'oh really...' or 'you don't say...' it's a feeling of perplexity and doubtful to what we are hearing.
His 'smile' at the end is obviously fake and not a smile at all. Mouth is horizontal, corners of lips are flat/down, brows are kept up probably trying to show a smile or bigger eyes (makes people seem friendly), cheeks bones are neutral, lower eyelids don't make the eye look smaller (look at the images above to compare his real smile). That 'smiles' is forced and shows disapproval, displeasure, skeptical, and/or dislike.
In short, Michael really tried to hide how he felt and what he thought throughout these segments. He stopped himself from giving too much information as well, but was as successful in hiding his feelings towards certain moments and the mention of David.
If I missed anything, please let me know!

"How does it feel to be dating someone who is only five years older than your daughter?"
Below will be the analysis for this question! This is NOT the interview so don't click on it.
Here are just random timestamp for this segment: 3:59 - 5:23
Something to keep in mind for any interview: Michael and David are actors. They know how to act when need be, but they also let many things slip through. It's close to impossible to control and be aware of your body language and facial expressions 100% of the time.
"How does it feel to be dating someone who is only five years older than your daughter?"
Tumblr media
Surprised at the question, then thinks about it (you can see it in the video). Because of how his head is positioned, chin tucked, eyes up, the look of surprised isn't all that noticeable, but if his head was positioned normally, then the upper sclera (white part of the eye) would be exposed.
Before he says 'um' there's a flash of a smile. This could mean nervousness, he found the question amusing, or he found the reaction of the people around amusing. Probably the third option.
"Because of the age difference, I think both of us were quite surprised when we got together."
Nods meaning he agrees with the statement. Throughout the interview (and in this statement as well), you'll see Michael raise his brows and open his eyes while staring firmly at the person. This means he's trying to get his point across "I'm telling the truth/This is true."
"I don't think either of us -" shakes head 'no' meaning that his head is being congruent with what he is saying "-were kind of looking for that - it's not like it was the easiest thing to do."
He shrugs ONLY his right shoulder, widens his eyes, blinks multiple times, and looks away; the first incongruency. When only ONE shoulder is raised/shrugged it means the person is lying. To Michael, one of them or both, were looking for the age difference or could be one of them were looking for something else.
The wide eyes, blinks, and loss of eye contact could mean nervousness/fast thinking/ or a mixture of the both with the stuttering he does.
"It's not like I've dated lots of people who were much younger than me."
Shakes his head no multiple time with brows raised and wide eyes - Michael believes he hasn't dated people much younger than him and tries to get his point across ('I'm telling the truth/I'm not hiding anything').
"We were very aware of - you know - what difference there might be and also how people might respond to that."
Frantically nods his head (raised brows & wide eyes) trying to show/prove that they were aware.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"So it's not like it was the easiest thing to do."
Fake smile at the end. The smile stretches horizontally not curving up. As he continues to speak, the smile looks frozen/tense when you look at his lips. The lower eyelids do barely come up, but it doesn't make his eyes noticeably smaller like when he genuinely smiles. There also isn't that softness in his eyes. The 'do' at the end also falls in tone.
"Ultimately (nods) we felt it was worth it because of how we felt about each other-" blinks "and now we have two beautiful children together."
That 'blink' during the pause between sentences, wasn't a blink. They are fast and not very noticeable. What Michal did was noticeable and a lot slower than a blink.
Shutting your eyes, obscuring your vision, or for a 'blink' to last too long mean several things: wanting to disconnect from what is being said/seen, distancing/putting a barrier between ourselves and whatever is causing is discomfort, or waning to disconnect and think about someone else.
Michael doesn't want to see or wants to disconnect from what he's saying and takes a split second to collect himself, then pivots the conversation to his children.
"Yeah I'm really happy." - nods and continues to talk about his children and continues to try and show he's being honest.
"If you find someone who brings you happiness and you make then happy-"
Right shoulder goes up, head turns/leans to the right - he's lying. Because he's indirectly talking about himself and AL, this means Michael doesn't feel that AL alone brings him happiness.
This might just be me so let me know what you see and think: when Michael says "& you make them happy" I see a little head shake (meaning no). He feels/thinks that he doesn't make AL happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"-you gotta go - you gotta go for that I think and so that's what we decided to do."
In between these two statements, he licks his lips by curling his lower lip in. Brows are up, eye lids relaxed, and starring off - in this case he's thinking and concentrating.
"That's what we decided to do and I'm so happy we did (said with a dead tone) because we have this wonderful family now."
Shakes head no two times - he's not happy they went for it and doesn't believe they have a wonderful family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The smile at the end - to me - what caused it was Michael seeing the person smile. They sort of giggled and smile widely. Michael was already looking at them so to me, his smile is a reaction to seeing the other smile.
In conclusion; Michael felt like he was lying a lot. He doesn't think him nor AL make each other happy. He doesn't feel like they have a wonderful family. He does think/feel one or both of them were looking for something when it came to being in a relationship.
Let me know if I missed anything!

I'll be doing multiple posts on this topic so it's not so cluttered and for it to be more manageable! Probably going to analyze MS/AL first, but if you would like DT/GT let me know.
Edit: I'll be analyzing BOTH of them! MS/AL and DT/GT, but I'll be posting MS/AL first! (I worded it kinda weirdly)
Thank you all for writing and/or voting!
Not an analysis! Just a question.
I was thinking about looking into DT/GT and MS/AL to see their dynamic. Would you guys be interested in that? It's pretty obvious at some points so I'm not sure if you'll like to see that.
If you have anything you would like for me to look at, let me know!

Let's look into "Maybe I should've married Michael Sheen" and "And he's my lover!"
Thank you @killerqueen-82 for providing the links!
I made gifs of these two instances slowed down and zoomed in to see them better, but tumblr is not letting me upload them so here they are.
Starting with David:
Tumblr media
In the video, you can see him think, staring off for a split second and answering with 'maybe I should have married Michael sheen.
He pushes himself back, resting on the chair, shuffles, and crosses his legs. In previous interviews, he crosses his legs because he's getting comfortable and shuffling around. That's normal for him, but when we take his face into account, this action has more meaning behind it.
He's aware of what he's saying and probably thinks he's said too much. His lips are pursed, eyes opens, brows raised as leans away while crossing his legs.
His eyes are wide with a serious look on his face. His mouth is in a straight line, with the corners horizontal. This wasn't meant to be funny or a joke. Like in other events, he shuts himself off before anymore comes out.
The wide opened eyes are because he's (consciously or unconsciously) trying to watchout for any threats/danger OR trying to get his point across (look into my eyes, I'm saying the truth). His leg crossed and arm went in front of him in a defensive position. I don't think he was protecting himself from the audience or the person next to him. It's most likely something personal. Shielding himself from what he said because he feels vulnerable.
David then looks down, takes a breathe in trying to soothe himself, thinks and continues with his answer.
Overall, Davids reaction to his answer is of caution. It was not a joke or something he found amusing/funny. It's something that made him feel vulnerable in some way, yet decided to say it anyways.
Tumblr media
This takes place from 7:15 - 7:29
Michael is more telling on his face than body. His legs/feet shuffle, plays/grips the bottle cap.
Outright, he is ticked off about not knowing this information.
Michael during this section of the interview, snaps his head 4 times in total. This action is usually done when anger, disbelief, or astonishment is felt out if nowhere.
For example, when someone tells you information about your bestest friend in the world that you had no idea about. You'll probably be confused as to why your best friend didn't share that with you, then maybe be annoyed/pissed off that they didn't.
Michaels last smile is fake. It's stiff and his movements, especially his head, are sharp and snappy. His cheeks don't reach his eyes, causing them to become smaller which means a forced smile was made. When he first looks off, his thinking with a smile, then second before"he never mentioned that" his smile stiffens and falls. His instant reaction was think and put a good face on.
When he says "and he's my lover" Michael grips the bottle cap he has in his left hand. Not knowing this information really did throw him off. After stating the David is his lover, Michael takes a drink from his water. It could be that he was thirsty or unconsciously stopping himself from talking. Drink or eating is also something done to calm ourselves down, whether we're aware of it or not.
Michaels tone is playful and, the best way I can describe it is stiff/rigid. Playing it off and not making a big deal. The body flinch (an instant reaction done usually without thinking) at the end is kind if like a kid when they say "its mine!" and stop their foot or shake their arms up and forth. Or it could also be disbelief "He's my lover! Why didn't he mention this?"
Edit: I forgot to mention! The knee squeeze has different meaning - excitement, control of energy, and (this next one doesn't apply to Michael here but I'll include it) nervousness/protection.
Neither of them, from my point of view and analysis, neither was joking about what they stated.
David was serious and his micro expressions and body language only transmitted seriousness and defensiveness while Michael was more ticked and trying to play it off.
Neither of them took the idea of being in a relationship with the other as a joke or something to amuse other people. Perhaps Michael waa trying to play it off as a joke, but it makes me doubt with how personal he took this.

I'll just say this real quick: when talking about someone you're interested in, the voice tends to be a little (or a lot in some cases) high pitched. Davids voice when he talks about Michael more often than not, goes up. That happens because the person becomes happy/excited when talking about them.
AND when the person of interest is there (in their case, interviews, award shows, etc.) in order to get their attention, people talk louder, high pitched, laugh loudly, and/or do exaggerated gestures in order to be looked at by their crush. David, around Michael (especially during the beginning) would laugh too loudly. Then and even now, his voice in interviews with Michael becomes a bit higher.
Remember that in addition to the amazing hug, David still couldn’t get Michael out of his head. In the span of 5 minutes, he also:
Looked at Michael right after with this sweet smile
Tumblr media
Then pointed at him
Tumblr media
Then squealed the infamous “look it’s Michael Sheen!”
Tumblr media
Then reminded everyone that Michael is an amazing actor as well, looking at him again
Tumblr media
Then walked off the stage with Michael and their arms around each other.
This night ❤️❤️❤️❤️
