NEW PROJECT - Moving Image

This year again we have to do a movie. The theme is “Sense of a place”. I was thinking about the idea that could cover this topic. Recently someone asked me if I feel like home here, in my house, in this country (I moved from Poland over 7 years ago). I want to make a short movie (it has to be at least 90 seconds) about HOME. What home means to me and where is my home. I want to use some of my old videos from phone, maybe even pictures. Record myself at home (in the house), and some other places in Scotland. I want to play quiet music in the background and talk, a lot.  I remember watching some short movie about home and love and I might look it up to get some inspirations.

I came up with a new idea for my second landscape image. I made a paper plane and was throwing it above the horizon view. Unfortunately the wind was too strong and I had to attach it to the fishing wire, my partner held it while i was taking pictures.

NEW PROJECT - LANDSCAPE

For this project we need to take images of the landscape but to not make it too easy it has to be interrupted view. For example beautiful nature view but with the cars/road/other presence of human. For my project I will need to take one image where the nature is already interrupted by some sort of infrastructure or shows human presence. I want to photograph windturbines as there is a huge field covered in them not far from my house. The second image has to be interrupted by the photographer and I want to use a frame and hung it on something to create “the view”.

Because I wanted to make sure I will have a model I asked two friends to come and model the same day but one couldn’t make it on Saturday and we shoot on Sunday with her. I then ended up having two photoshoots with same setup outside my house and using my partner’s classic car.

NEW PROJECT - EDITORIAL FASHION - idea

For my Editorial Fashion project I want to create a 50′s and 60′s look. I will have a female model and was thinking about using two locations. Zine - The final images and layout

I used Lightroom to choose layout and sequence. Then Edited front page in Photoshop. I want to print more zines with more images and try to sell to locals and other interested, that will cover my expenses and possibly get clients in the future for photoshoot or even just for the prints from the zine...but need to make sure the printing is good, the paper is fine and everything works as it should. The first version is with less images than the final product, and this is only for the submission.

Sports photography

For my “catch me if you can” sports photography project I will be shooting a female rugby team. Someone I know gave me number to Megan from Annan Warriors Rugby Club. They have matches from end of February to end of March and I will attend ay least one match to shoot the game.

Glassware - Shooting 2 - Chilli Olive Oil - contact sheet

I wasn’t happy with the last shooting outcome. My idea was good but in practice It didn;t look as good and I didn’t get that WOW after all. I decided I will change the object. I don’t think using alcohol is the best idea for a college project so I looked around the house for other glass objects I can photograph.  My choice was Chili Olive Oil I got from a trip to Italy. I quickly looked for something I could add to the picture that would work with the main object. I found a bread and got some olives and chillies from the shop. Placed it nicely on the decorative wooden board at home and tried different settings before taking it all to the final location. I had to try different locations but lighting wasn’t the best. At the end I found the spot in my wee patio and that one worked well. It was a cloudy day so not much reflections but I still had to block extra light using the 5in1 reflector.

Canon industry day

We had a presentation and then workshop with Eliska Sky, Czech photographer( but also are director ) mostly working in a fashion industry.

We got to learn new techniques. Some of us participated in tasks. I tried the flash blur and here’s the image I got from it:
