So obviously Garak and Bashir have always wanted to fuck each other. That's like barely subtextual. That lizard is down atrocious and Bashir spends his nights confused as to why he keeps getting hard to the colour grey.

I feel like the crux of them in a romantic relationship, at least to me, is relief. It's about the relief of putting down the mask as much as you can and trusting that the other man won't judge you. Trusting that the other will love you in all your monstrosity and unacceptability. It's about learning to let yourself be a person and learning to love yourself through loving your twisted reflection.

The central conflict, their opposing loyalties and Bashir's seeming dependency on the Federation to ensure his own morality. Hence him spending all his time post Canon trying to "fix" starfleet. Bashir is a man taught that everything he is is wrong and leans on starfleet ideals to prove to himself that he isn't another Khan. He needs that proof

Companion piece to my 2024 silver Philon Award winning poem “I must confess”

Last January, I picked up digital art again. I had dabbled in it many years ago but the Star Trek brain worms demanded I create. Six months before that, I started writing poetry after a long hiatus. In a span of about a year, I created over 140 works.

To celebrate that and all the ways my life has transformed and changed for the better because of Star Trek, I made this piece for the Spirk Events NYE Kiss.

Sometimes I get the feeling the only way we could achieve a STAR TREK segment on budget would be to have 60 minutes of Mister Spock playing kazoo solo as Captain Kirk holds him in his arms while standing in a telephone booth. -Robert Justman (associate producer of TOS)

It was my delight to be paired with Beck @hopefulcanary to write a fic inspired by her amazing art for the Live Long and Pin-Up Reverse Big Bang.

In flight magazines still exist in the future. Spock keeps one. After the first five year mission, Jim, Spock, and Bones are helping pack each other’s quarters when Jim discovers it. And, why Spock has held onto it.

In fandom spaces, I have often said that it feels Lower Decks flies under the radar for Big P and so everyone involved is like “f*** it we ball” so idk if they changed the last episodes as a last going out (coming out) or if they were like nope, we are just using the power we have in this position to state Star Trek facts

Either way, Lower Decks saw an opportunity and ran with their rainbow flags

Earlier this year, I read the TMP novelization. The book begins with Admiral Kirk’s Preface where in the first paragraph Jim states “My name is James Tiberius Kirk. Kirk because my father and his male forebears followed the old custom of passing along a family identity name. I received James because it was both the name of my father's beloved brother as well as that of my mother's first love instructor.”

Ever since, I wanted an excuse to draw something with Jim inspired by that opening. Therefore, two Jims, two love instructors was born.
