I think the thing about seeing F1 "discourse" and fandom spats is that I cannot bring myself to care about who is at "fault" or who is being "mean" or who is "unworthy" even a little bit. And it's not because I don't have parasocial investment, but because I just like most of the drivers, and often find both sides of these "conflicts" to be entertaining in one way or another. Especially because these are all multi-millionaire, hyper privileged men whose worst day is when they drive badly, so their problems are like fantasy problems -- it's like watching Gossip Girl, but with race cars!

So while Charles is my favorite driver (and I hope that a Red-Bull-in-2023-esque car is bestowed upon him in the future so he can win every race), I also don't hate Lando or Oscar for being in the right car at the right time now. I love a toxic brocedes fight for the title, and I love the "we're going to get through this title fight together and come out stronger" plot landoscar and McLaren are attempting to execute. I love how spicy and petty Max can be, and I also think George's dramatic speeches about his morals are hilarious. There is one single driver who I genuinely don't enjoy, but outside of that I'm pretty much always just enjoying the current episode of this show play out how it will.
