Facts about my Time Looper OC referenced in my last reblog
He does, in fact, have a name, but I've changed it so many times I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to keep this one.
Originally made for an unposted Twisted Wonderland fanfic idea (currently has massive disorganized notes) but has a 526-word long list of notes for an AU where he's dropped into Purrfect Apawcalypse.
Original concept was "bad-boy, anti-Disney" character before I went ahead to make him nearly the Exact Opposite of the Canon Generic TWST MC, complete with food and fur allergies to make him plain incompatible with most of the canon characters. Most of his physical appearance was decided by googling the most uncommon features in the world, just so he can't be an everyman protagonist. He's got pointy ears and sectoral heterochromia. Red hair is curly because none of the canon characters have Type 3 hair. He is pretty pissed that most of the timelines where he Stops Situations from Happening are the ones that get dropped (like that time he picked expulsion over risking his life, or the time he convinced Adeuce not to sign the contracts). The geniuses don't get his motivations because the "canon" choices he makes rarely match up with his personality outside the loops.
The AU I'm talking about is an Alternate Isekai where he gets transmigrated into canon fodder in Purrfect Apawcalypse. He spends the first few loops fucking dying before he eventually figures out how to survive in his new body. A percentage of the loops he sides against the Grimalkins, another percentage he helps them kill Patches. There's a reveal that the stuff he was smoking during his "taking a break" loops (which he thought was weed) was actually catnip that made some of the cat demons more docile around him. He mentally in a worst place than his TWST self because none of the others will remember his friendship building timelines - especially when befriending certain characters (specifically Patches or the Grimalkins) will lock away his chances with others. The conditions to end the loop are "Olive befriends all canon characters except Patches" and "Everyone Survives (with Angel possessing Patches's body)" - but OC has no way of knowing them because he didn't play the game. At some point he finds out keeping Olive alive will make the loop last longer, but it'll reset as soon as any survivors the building.
He will probably never be released to the public as a POV character because all the plot ideas related to him are super complicated. Time loop fics are either written as A) comedies (maybe with dark implications) showing single events in each loop, or B) serious shit with detailed stuff involving feelings and actions. All his storylines involve B, with small butterfly-effect details that affect his friendships and success chances every loop. His TWST plotline (which I've been working on since 2022) is also really fucking long, spanning across 4 playthroughs (with the first one having like 10+ loops per chapter) with many other OCs. This guy would be a huge project and I've got too much IRL stuff to do.

Absurdist time loop where a guy gets stuck in a time loop for absolutely no apparent reason and tries all this crazy shit and dies a bunch of times and completely reforms his life and then suddenly gets spat out the other side on a completely average loop with no idea what he did that finally fixed it and the answer is like. There was this one (1) ant that he kept stepping on every cycle without even noticing and he doesn’t notice on the last one either he just stopped for an extra three seconds bc he dropped something or whatever. And then didn’t step on the ant. Either the ant is a wizard or a wizard enchanted it to live forever just to see what would happen. The point is the man never knows about it. As far as this guy is aware time just stopped working for six months and then just as randomly started again. He can speak Portuguese and play the viola now.

staring at a new oc like
"do you really need to be an OC-insert? you already have a interesting-enough story on your own (especially with the crossover) but exactly how much of that first-life knowledge are you actually going to use?"
(already had one self-insert demoted to OC, but that was because the "special knowledge" that one used was stuff that every other character in the setting already knew.)
(this new one is unambitious, placed in a specific part of the setting that canon doesn't spend much time on, with no plans to interact with the main cast... maybe keep the reincarnation part but remove their metaknowledge?)

Scene that I'll probably never use in my fics but is still pretty cool
Person A: shoves their handkerchief in a quarter-filled bottle of alcohol they used for cooking, hands it over to B who they know carries a lighter + has a better throwing arm
Person B: knows fully well what A wanted them to do but instead takes out the handkerchief, downs the bottle, smashes half of it to make a melee weapon, and runs at the enemy

i wanna make a fanfic for dungeon meshi but kui ryoko covered pretty much covered all the themes i like when writing fanfic ideas.
The implications of bad tropes like "evil" sentient races? Orc tribe here; respectfully portrayed refugees/genocide targets, not stupid or unreasonable yet not perfect, (understandably) suspicious yet slowly accepting of the main crew (who was legally obligated to kill them), unique culture heavily based on the environment that kept them alive, on good terms with Senshi.
The implications of character flaws portrayed as a joke? Already addressed in canon and side stories; miscommunication strains relationships, violence can still be traumatizing when you think you're desensitized, consequences can come from both good and bad intentions, and some of the flaws themselves only make sense to exist with the worldbuilding.
Patching holes in worldbuilding? What holes? We got ecosystems, big and small cultural differences, the implications of massive lifespan differences, regional differences in environment and classification, repeated behaviors more common in specific races as a result of sociocultural circumstances, cuisine-
Giving some love to a minor character that isn't treated well by the author? Pretty sure Kui Ryoko cares about all of them already, just about every major or minor antagonist is written in a sympathetic or semi-sympathetic way.
AU? whoops here's a semi-canon Modern AU and Genderswap AU.
If I tried to insert an OC, all the circumstances coming with the worldbuilding would just push them away from most of the canon characters, especially if they're non-humantallman.
(...OCs and AUs are still probably possible, just don't have any immediate ideas coming up.)

when making a character, u have to ask urself:
are they bloody?
will they ever be bloody?
is it their blood or somebody elses blood theyre covered in?
why are they bloody?
how drenched in blood are they going to be from a scale of 1-10, with 1 being ''barely drenched'' and 10 being ''so covered we shld ask where there ISNT any blood on them''?

Purrfect Apawcalypse Headcanons
Pulled out of my messy fanfic notes + random stuff I came up with while making this post
Just a heads-up: the headcanons have more to do with the setting then specific characters.
-There are a few students in Hachiko High that immigrated from places where cat-dog relations are generally better. Places where their specific populations are low enough to easily ignore each other, or places where they're lumped in the same category as the "weaker/more sheltered" carnivores. These students mostly keep quiet, though, due to how mean some of their classmates can be about things associated with cats (Ginger's bullies, for example). Patches is one of these students (or at least 2nd/3rd gen. would totally explain why he doesn't have a lot of "dog personality traits" and was easily accepting of Angel at first)
-At least one other classmate at HHS had seen Patches's locker shrine. Said classmate didn't get a good enough look to recognize Angel was a cat, nor were they gossipy enough to go around telling people the specifics, but it did add on to Patches's reputation as a weirdo.
-Deuteranopia (red-green colorblindness) is a lot more common for sentient dogs, but still less than 25% because they're anthro. Olive has it, and it's why their favorite outfit is yellow and blue.
-Adoption is actually super common for dogs in this world. Due to the average lifespan for PA dogs being at ~27, most don't live long enough to see their biological kids reach adulthood. Usually when puppies are born, they get socialized with an older cousin or parent's younger sibling or family friend who can watch over them when the bio parents die. (RIP Patches for not being socialized properly, and RIP Sparky who'll be expected to provide for his younger siblings when he gets older.) (If I didn't make this headcanon then other stuff would have to be true instead)
-(For cats the socialization isn't as important due to solitary nature, but when it happens it focuses more on siblings/cousins in the same age range.)
-Food with caffeine (in areas with less animals that can digest it, at least) is viewed as an addictive and dangerous drug. Doug is considered a dealer by both Kemono Town & Woods standards.
-Before the massacre, Brownie was one of those students who jumped between friend groups but wasn't very close to any of them (on account of only having 2 months to get to know them since she's a freshman). It's why she has good social skills yet wasn't too upset at Coco for killing everyone.
-Other factors leading to the Claret family's downfall was 1) how divided it was due to cultural clashes and 2) health risks (from mixing different animal biologies) when magic failed. Also 3) a few of the past family heads were literal dictators/mass murderers, and They Were Remembered more than the nicer ones (with related family lines like the Wichiens quietly burying their history to fit with their respective species).
-Occasionally when resources are running low and their usual delivery methods aren't available, a cat will actually enter Kemonotown to restock from one of the local stores owned by one of the 10% non-dog species living in the area. It's pretty uncommon, though, and the cats who do so make sure to carefully calculate their arrival at a time when most dogs won't notice.
-During PA2, most of the zombies didn't have their souls inside their bodies. Their motivations were heavily reliant on muscle memory and what was left of their biological brains.

you are personally and directly hit by a bus¹ and isekai-ed, via resurrection, into the body of the main character your most recent WIP
reblog and tell me: on a scale of 1–10, how screwed are you right now?
¹ this is, transparently, a plot device, so if you are about to tell me "joke's on you, I never leave my fifteenth floor apartment!" then you may rest assured it will have tremendous comedic value when the bus is launched into the sky and crashes through your apartment wall to flatten you anyway

Patches's, Holly's, & Luna's starting location, had at least 7 others
Some victims were crushed under bookshelves
Patches (probably) survived by hiding under bodies
(Or under the librarian desk. he wasn't consistent w the story)
He used his time to dismember bodies & clean blood off himself
Has Claret grimoire (only Holly & Luna know)
Has a second floor
Across from the Cafeteria & Home Ec room, same hallway
Gym
Sparky's & Rover's starting location, had at least 9 others
Sparky wrestles a demon, can't survive without help
Bleachers don't give good hiding spots
Has sport equipment like hockey sticks (and thumbtacks)
A few water bottles & snacks are on the bleachers
Cafeteria
Has at least 3 tables w/ 6 seats each (18 on-screen total)
Starting location of at least 5 students
Pig lunch lady kept chocolate behind the counter
Might have a lot of water-based drinks
Next to Home Ec room, across from library, same hallway
Basement
Coco & Angel's starting location
Magic circle (made of chalk) used to summon demons & teleport
Destroying magic circle does not bring down barrier
Has a lot of water pipes, a sink, & wet janitorial supplies
Door keys located in Olive's closet & w/ Patches
Misc
Home economics room has 5 rows (2 students per table)
Home ec has cabinets, fridge, & sink near exit. Knives are fake.
Baseball field outside probably wasn't in use that day
The demons have claws (not shown by art)
Sparky, though strong, is unwilling to kill others throughout PA1 - even when Patches or Coco is actively attacking Olive
Angel can't remember Patches's face, will think someone with a similar voice is him
Patches's silhouette will show up in the classroom window if he stalks Olive there
Outside the school, there are ~12500 other dogs in town - including adults and students from other schools.
The nearby woods have ~7000 cats
A passing comment from Olive implies the expected lifespan is 27 years.
Infurno
All the dead dogs went here
All the cat demons were summoned from here

Twisted Wonderland Worldbuilding Links
I LOVE this game but it can be a little frustrating that all of the worldbuilding information is just. Incredibly scattered and partially locked behind hard-to-access SSRs.
The worldbuilding is complex and well thought-out, but the official TWST website gives nothing and nobody even bothered to try getting everything into the TWST wiki.
Tumblr, however, has tons of helpful worldbuilding posts. They can get lost in my reblogs, though, so I'm planning to keep links here.

Descendants Worldbuilding Notes
So the Descendants fanfic writers have inspired me to write my own work. Unfortunately, I prefer my works to be as canon-compliant as possible.
Since the the series is not consistent and the wiki isn't detailed or organized enough to show the parts I need, this is where my notes are going.
Isle of Lost
The island does not have access to any agriculture system. Most food is literal garbage collected from the Goblin Wharf. The only canon exceptions are Ursula's restaurant (makes sense, islands are surrounded by water), Shan Yu's Dim Sums (wide variety of dishes, probably spoiled ingredients) and Frollo's Creperie (._.)
There are three high schools: Dragon Hall, Serpent Prep, & Witch School. The first two are rivals.
The animal sidekicks also have children. Lucifer the cat had an entire litter (implying there was a female cat that gave birth to them). Small moray eels and spotted hyenas were gifted out in bags during a birthday party (not ethical IRL). Also crocodiles live there, mostly hanging around Captain Hook's shop.
Maleficent is highly influential and most on the island are scared of her.
With how the residents came from all over the world, the island would theoretically be big on cultural amalgamation? I mean the lack of agricultural ties would make it hard to get the spices for most foods but they had to pick up some things from the non-American-coded or non-human villains - especially the store-owners and teachers.
Auradon
If the canon map is the world map, geography is basically Pangea plus some islands. If not, there are regions of the world that are either unexplored or someone else's territory.
Everyone calls the government a democracy but it really leans more to a monarchy/oligarchy.
The use of magic heavily restricted. A lot of fairies do not like this.
There is a museum that contains powerful artifacts. It has hilariously bad security and teenagers keep breaking into it.
Animals are as sentient as humans, with human-like senses and views of the world.
