The ancients before they became leaders

A small story after the cut (please forgive me its not great because i’m not much of a writer anymore 💔)

The sun had already begun to set as the group of cats traversed through Spice Clan's grassy fields. Goldenwings pushed through the tall sprouts with ease, the other four followed closely in her wake.

"How do you ever know your way around here, Goldenwings? I'd get hopelessly lost!" Hollylight bellowed joyfully, her tail held high.

Goldenwings rolled her eyes, "I have a great sense of direction! Use your nose, Hollylight, and you'll never be lost. " The she-cat nosed her way out onto an abandoned twoleg path. Her companions let out a collective relieved sigh.

"I thought we were lost for a moment. Not that Goldenwings would lead us astray, though." Pureheart purred as he bumped heads with Goldenwings as a thanks. The tan she-cat trilled and puffed out her chest.

Hollylight took the lead now that they neared Sugar Clan territory. Lilysong fell into step with the large tabby, rubbing against her side. Goldenwings trotted a few strides in front but slowed to walk beside the other two. Hollylight glanced back at the toms that followed, "Don't fall too far behind, slow pokes!"

Darkwind let out a huff but couldn't stifle a small purr at the she-cats banter. He nosed Pureheart's ear, urging him to walk faster. Pureheart chirped at the touch, "I don't want to trip over my paws in unfamiliar territory. We won't fall far behind if Hollylight slows her pace just a pinch." Pureheart said the second sentence a bit louder so Hollvlight would hear him. Hollylight shot him a glance, then immediately remembered he wouldn't be able to see it. She opted to swish her tail over his snout, causing him to sneeze.

Gee I sure hope they stay happy and nothing happens to them in the future.
