can we just talk about the time that Lupin was recovering from a full moon and Snape taught the DADA class and made all the students write essays on how to kill werewolves for Lupin to read when he got back I hate Snape so much it’s not funny

It turns out it’s quite hard to find something original to say about love, but I’ve had a go.

Just like Slughorn, Albus Dumbledore collects people. Only, instead of focusing on those with influence, he looks to the outcasts.
The expelled half-giant. The young werewolf. The repentant Death Eater.
He protects them and gives them a second chance. All he asks in return is their loyalty.
And, if on occasion he requests that they undertake a certain task, invoking their debt of gratitude - well, that is no more than he is owed.
He once thought to add a certain disowned Black to his collection, but quickly realised his mistake.
Sirius is not an outcast, but a rebel. He knowingly chose his path, and chooses what price he is willing to pay for it. He refuses to be used.
So Albus Dumbledore abandons him.

idk if anyone needs to hear this today, but: if you are a trans dude, the fact that you are a man is a good thing and your existence as a trans man makes the world a better place. it is not a bad thing that you are a man and it’s especially not bad that you are a trans man. the fact that you exist as a man is a great thing and you are amazing. sleep well tonight

Things that are still writing even if you don't think they are (an incomplete list)
thinking about a story
creating a new document
brainstorming
researching
thinking of a title
explaining your story to someone else
reading other stories and noticing things like word choice, sentence structure, plot development, characterization
thinking of a great line that doesn't have a story yet
getting a picture in your mind that you want to put into words someday
being inspired by others, even if you don't know what to do with that inspiration yet
making notes about how you want to tag your work
editing
cutting out lines or scenes that don't work
stopping work on something that isn't working right now
starting over
writing a summary
rewriting something you've written before

Some advice for when you’re writing and find yourself stuck in the middle of a scene:
kill someone
ask this question: “What could go wrong?” and write exactly how it goes wrong
switch the POV from your current character to another - a minor character, the antagonist, anyone
stop writing whatever scene you’re struggling with and skip to the next one you want to write
write the ending
write a sex scene
use a scene prompt
use sentence starters
read someone else’s writing
Never delete. Never read what you’ve already written. Pass Go, collect your $200, and keep going.
