So, how would Letitia be related to her? I keep on forgetting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emma Canning as Daphnée Greengrass (née Moreau) (b. 18 December 1925 — d. 22 October 1993), the mother of Lysander Greengrass, therefore making her the paternal grandmother of Daphne and Astoria Greengrass. She was a witch of French descent and a member of the Moreau family, which had once held prominence during the French Renaissance. Amongst those who bore the Moreau family name was Darenne Moreau, the wife of Cyrille Lestrange (I).
Around the mid 1930s, Daphnée had been enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Moreau was sorted into Slytherin House where she met Hyperion Greengrass, an upperclassman who had been a year her senior. The two would later become betrothed by Daphnée’s sixth year at school, although her parents were originally skeptical of the match due to the Greengrass family’s blood curse. In spite of the doubts of her mother and father, Daphnée remained persistent in her desire to marry Hyperion and the couple would officially join in matrimony a year after her graduation.
Daphnée was close friends with Tasoula Shafiq, acting as an elder sister figure to her future cousin-in-law, who ironically would be mistaken as her sibling on several occasions. Both girls bonded over the fact that they grew up without a person with whom they could share a sisterly bond with, and so, it would be for this very reason that Tasoula would be chosen as Daphnée’s Maid of Honor during her wedding in 1943.

Headcanon: Floxel Lestrange and Jodelle Volant's wedding was...."fiery". Cyrille IV, in a drunken state, interrupted the peaceful reception of their wedding. Inebriated, he experimented with fiendfyre to impress the guests, and a fire was started.
The fire consumed the entire hall through which multiple guests, including Cyrille IV Lestrange, perished instantly. Jodelle, Floxel, Cyrille III, Luminosa and the Volants did manage to escape. Cyrille III died three weeks later, succumbing to the burns.

Headcanon: Luminosa Lestrange (née Trouche) was heavily dependent on her daughter-in-law, Jodelle during her last days. Both physically and emotionally.

I had such a good headcanon for Jodelle and Floxel's wedding, including Cyrille IV.
Cyrille IV was Floxel’s younger brother by two years. During their childhood, Cyrille was thought to have been nonverbal because he could barely form a simple sentence by the time he was four.
Cyrille III practically denied his second son’s existence when he learned that the boy was incapable of speaking, believing that his lack of verbal communication also meant that perhaps he lacked intelligence.
Oftentimes, Cyrille IV would fall subject to his father’s insults, being called an “imbecile” and a “half-wit” throughout most of his youth. It became clear to Cyrille the Younger that his name’s predecessor would have died of shame if he did not already have a “normal functioning” heir at his disposal.
Floxel was the only one who truly stood up for his brother. He and Cyrille were very close growing up, with Floxel never showing any hesitation to protect his younger sibling.

- Nicéphore "Nicky" Volant
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Max Irons as Nicéphore "Nicky" Volant, son of Aramis Volant and Héliétte Trouche. He was the grandson of Floxel Volant and Pascaline Perrot and half-brother to Véréne Yaxley.
His birth, however prosperous for the Volant family, was marked by tragedy an hour later when Héliétte suffered from pre-eclampsia and died during a seizure. Nicky grew increasingly desolate and confused, despite Aramis raising him devotedly. Although the loss of his wife devastated Aramis, he tried his best to raise Nicky. Nicky often felt up an unnamed sense of loss and the pressure of being his father’s heir apparent. During garden parties or balls hosted by the family, he would try to bond with his cousins. (To him, he would consider Ersilia and Apolline as his cousins)
Nicky never found it awkward or painful to visit the Trouche estate in Bordeaux. After the death of his mother, the Trouches were devastated and (understandably) angered at not being informed sooner about Heliette's death. They were, however, ready to make reparations for her child. So, whenever Pascaline or Floxel took the opportunity to drop Nicky there, he noticed the eerie closeness between Floxel and Isabeau.
Nicéphore was briefly (emphasis BRIEF) aware of his father's affair with Lady Lysistrata Carrow (nee Yaxley), and didn't object much to it. He knew he wasn't in a position to, and a part of him would've liked to have a little sibling, preferably a sister. Hence, he was not happy when Aramis agreed not to claim paternity of Véréne, leaving Nicky alone again.
Ersilia Volant and Véréne Yaxley are original characters of @theblackswan-and-thewhiterose.
(PS: I am scatter-brained, hence this profile isn't that developed as much as I wanted to.)

I feel so bad for them now.....I always thought Jodelle may have blamed Floxel in a way after Quintilla died.
In 1871, Salomé Lestrange was credited with orchestrating the union between her grandniece, the young and impressionable Jodelle Volant, to the distinguished and honorable Floxel Lestrange, a relative of Madame Lestrange’s husband.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THEM. LIKE THOUGHTS.
I always pictured Fulcran (III) as being significantly older than Quintilla. Tbh, I’m well aware that the young bride was probably repulsed by the idea of having to marry her much older cousin, but the thought of what Fulcran could’ve felt about their arrangement is even more intriguing to me.
Was he a sick and perverted old man that couldn’t wait to get his hands on youthful and gorgeous Quintilla? Had Fulcran could’ve been just as reluctant to wed the girl because of their age gap? Or maybe he was willing to be a loving and dedicated partner to such a naive and inexperienced wife?

Unlikely ocs meeting: Édilbert Carrow and Nicephore Volant.
Oooooooooooo
Edilbert is more likely to be friendly with Nicky. The Lestranges would know the Volants quite well, especially Iphigenie's branch. It's like a conversation with Neville Longbottom and Ron Weasley, but with French aristocrats and awkwardness.
They would soon be friendly.

Would you please tell me about your Yaxley ocs? I was planning on making some of my own but I need inspiration.
Oh wow I haven't checked on my Yaxley OCs in a WHILE. Although, I do have some of my own.
Calcifer Yaxley, in his youth had once persuaded Lycoris Black romantically but it didn't work out, much, to his chagrin. His son is Cletus Yaxley, who I really haven't developed much lately.

Hi! I found this blog through a mutual. Is there anything else you can tell me about Édilbert Carrow? I find him very interesting.
Oh, hi! TYSM. So, Édilbert Carrow is the only child of Nestor (another OC) and Iphigénie Lestrange (from another branch). The Carrows, well... weren't the best type of people to put it in a friendly manner, and Nestor didn't have the best environment growing up. So, when Iphigénie took control in raising Édilbert, Nestor was secretly relieved. And Édilbert grew with a sense of loyalty, and dedication, instead of the barbarity that accompanied the Carrows most of the time.

Luke Powell as Édilbert Carrow, son of Nestor Carrow and Iphigénie Lestrange, youngest grandson of Enoch and Polyxena Carrow, father of Cleitos Carrow and Polyxena Carrow.
He was primarily raised under his mother's influence, like a Lestrange unlike the deranged tendencies of the Carrow family, much to Nestor's relief.
He may have tried bonding with Casimir and Lavinia Carrow during his Hogwarts years.
@konstantynowitz is the creator of Casimir and Lavinia.

Irene Manco as Nozéa Quintilla Lestrange, a scion of the French branch of the Lestrange family and the last living member of the said branch. She was the only child of Quintilla Lestrange and Fulcran Lestrange III. Quintilla Lestrange, at the young age of 19, died giving birth to Nozéa, which devastated Jodelle and Floxel Lestrange. Nozéa was raised by her father, Fulcran III, while his sisters, Balbine and Pucine, acted as her so-called maternal figures.
The first time she met her mother's side of the family was when she was 3, and her grandmother Jodelle bonded with her within a few hours. It is said that Jodelle saw her daughter, Quintilla, in Nozéa.
Her paternal grandparents were Fulcran II Lestrange and Sotére Lestrange (née Petit). Fulcran II died when his son and daughters were in their teens.
After Quintilla's death, Fulcran III seized the opportunity to declare Nozéa as his heir. He separated her from Jodelle and Floxel on the day of Quintilla's funeral. Following this, Sotére attempted to make amends and perhaps apologise to Jodelle and Floxel, but they responded with indifference. Fulcran's actions strained his relationship with his in-laws, and as a result, Nozéa grew up feeling confused, reserved, and lonely.
Her father passed away during her last year at Beauxbatons, a year after her aunts had disappeared without warning. Nozéa was taken under the wing of Jodelle, who had also lost Floxel in 1924. As Nozéa lived with Jodelle, she slowly grew more quiet, withdrawn, and miserable, constantly being compared to her mother, who had left the earth as she was born. She always thought she was the reason for her mother's death. In 1926, Nozéa fell from the balcony of the Lestrange Chateau and was found by her grandmother, Jodelle, who had returned from a party.
This is my interpretation of Nozéa Lestrange! Many things do sound repetitive and boring, and I'm trying!

Jodelle Lestrange first met her granddaughter Nozéa three years past her daughter's death. The moment she set eyes on Nozéa, a permanent and peculiar ache settled below her ribs. Quintilla had left this world, leaving a daughter with her mother's face. It should've soothed this ache, yet it only seared into her more.
"You have your mother's eyes." Soft brown ones, ones that widened with wonder at the mere mention of cake, the light stolen the moment her breath faltered and the body went limp.
Her throat closed in with words she wished she could've said. The world is cruel, My Zéa and I loathe that you were its victim. But all that escaped was silence, where love used to be.
