Mase’s story winds down, and we continue staring up at the sky, listening to the sounds of the night.

Wade: Do you believe in guardian angels?

Mase pauses for a while before answering.

Mason: I don’t know—maybe? You?

Wade: I want to.

Mason: If they exist, I’m sure Ma is one of them.

Wade: Yeah, exactly.

A brief silence settles between us.

Mason: Have you heard from Dad yet?

Wade: No. But I talked to Dray—his flight is delayed, and he won’t make it in until tomorrow morning.

Mason: How’s he holding up?

Wade: About as well as the rest of us.

Mason exhales deeply, shaking his head.

Mason: I can’t believe we let Dad go to Willow Creek by himself. We should have insisted one of us go with him. It’s a long drive, and he barely got any sleep last night.

Wade: It’s what he wanted. It’s Dad. What could we do?

Despite the tough loss of the Banks family’s matriarch, the men eventually find their way to sleep—Mase in the arms of his wife, Kai on the living room couch, and Wade alone in the guest room.

Oh wait Jason didn't go home after saying goodbye. He decided to go dancing instead.

Iliana loves the water and it's a good day when she can talk one of her dads into giving her a bath.

Joel had a couple of friends come home after school with him. But I still can't figure out who he's interested in or not interested in. Or maybe this notificaton was for both?

He's like the pickiest sim I've ever had in game. I may not know what he finds attractive but he definitely knows what's not it.

Joel: so dad, do you think you could reconsider letting me go on dates?

Isaac: that's a big decision and I'm not sure if your ready yet.

Jason: just go. Works for me.

Jordan was the last kid done with his school project and he wasn't even the last one to start.

Joel and Jason went to the dentist because they both had pain in their mouths. Joel had a cavity and told to brush better.

Jason on the other had needed braces and now he feels self conscious.

Jake went to visit his sisters and their family.

It's just not Joel's day. Not only did he have a cavity but his teachers don't think he's doing his best.

Maybe he'd benefit from joining the group homework session his other siblings have.

After completing his homework Jason decided to go for a run in their home gym.

I had to delete both of the save files since there was no saving them.... I also deleted all the posts since I didn't see point in keeping them

I went through all the CC and mods and checked all out and they are all up to date and fine... I will start the new save soon, and if that one starts crashing too I'm done with this damn game...

RL Story

TW: Panic attacks

I was back at home. 😞I got a call from the nursery to practice with my son the adjustment periode. That's why, we got home. From October he should start going to daycare. Now it was the beginning of August, and since many kids were at home during the summer months, the nursery teacher had time to practice with my son in peace and also get to know him better.

I realized now it’s getting serious for me and my little one. 💙 I was just not ready to part with my Baby!! 😭

He was still so small (19 months) and somehow I felt, that it will be a struggle for him to separate from me so early. But I had no choice, in October I start working again, because my parental leave ended. Anyway, now it was like that and I decided to go through with it.

Nevertheless, I did not feel good with this decision, which was not immediately clear to me. The last few days I spent mostly in bed, I was totally withdrawn. In addition, I had to struggle with my depression. I was just sad, unhappy and unable to care about anything. Last night I got so sick, that Nico had to take me to the ER. I didn’t know what was wrong with me?? I just felt extremely nauseous and it didn’t stop!! I had all sorts of disease symptoms that I knew. I swear, it felt like I was going through a bad withdrawal. But the worst was my fear! I couldn’t breathe anymore and thought I was going to DIE! 😥😞

The doctor didn’t take long to diagnose me after he examined me. It was immediately clear to him!

I had a panic attack.🤦‍♀️😩"Noo, please not again", I thought! 😰These fucking panic attacks are killing me! I hate it sm!!!

But N. was there for me, he helped me. ❤️He is the only one who can do it, this I learned then. I never expected him to be so patient with me and also the way he helped me, totally surprised me. I mean, especially after that crazy fight with my Dad! But N. showed me that he would really do anything for me, to make me feel good. No matter how broken I am, our son belongs to both of us. I think he felt responsible for my condition. He thought that this argument with my Dad and that one thing he said about me and our son, was the trigger for my panic attack and depression. He even apologized to my Dad without me asking. I didn't know, my Mom told me days later.

Anyway, I was sure that Nico or that quarrel with him, had nothing to do with this panic attack. Also the reunion with Daniel had nothing to do with it!! I am just generally afraid of death, sickness & pain. And I was afraid of the big change that is coming. Tbh, I just knew there would be trouble with Lucas. I always knew, he was a little...... "different", very sensitive. As a mother, you just know such things. But you will see soon. 💙(his fav color is blue, that’s why I always use the blue heart emoji when it's about him.🥰)

Besides, I also knew that N. would soon leave us again. I felt so overwhelmed. What if I can’t work because our son needs me? What if it doesn’t work in daycare for him?? He is the youngest child there, and I don’t think the kindergarten teachers need to change diapers? 😞How am I supposed to get him diaper-free in 2 months? But my biggest worry was the noise and the food. He will not eat there! I know my son, he is an extremely picky eater!! And he hates noise, so it’s going to be hard for him. He will be very lonely there, that has broken my heart. That’s why, I will have to change EVERYTHING.

We arrive home just as it’s beginning to get dark. Serena’s cries assault our ears as we walk through the door. Zoe stands in the front room, holding the baby tight, looking exhausted. It seems as if she’s the one who could have used some self-care today. I look around, expecting to see Ma close by helping, but she isn’t there. Dad must have made the same observation.

Kai: Where’s Ma?

Zoe: She’s upstairs taking a nap. She wanted me to let you know.

Mase walks over and frees Zoe from the screaming baby, while I retreat to the guest room to make that call to Maia that I put off all day.

Me-Me lived a full life as the mother of three boys, two daughters-in-law, and grandmother of two girls. She was the family rock, and her presence and wisdom will be missed.

Week 3 ~ Old Flames ~ Friday

My day at work is what you also might expect. Repairing gates and stuff like that. Nothing special, nothing special at all. Oh, how tedious! I do believe that I've told you all that I do believe my work is getting a bit stale but it is all I have to pay the bills and I do hope some excitement is added in the future.

Week 3 ~ Old Flames ~ Friday

What am I complaining about? I used to be oh so lonely but now I am surrounded by friends! As soon as the sun checks out for the day I finally take Brandy out and play fetch with her, which I think she was begging for all day long.

I do feel bad for her as I think dogs prefer to be active in the day and it is something I am just not capable of anymore. Still, she has a good time and look at her she actually returns the ball a few times!
