Fr☠️☠️ She has good motivation... in theory. To help hold opposite sides together, to keep her friends and have them get along creates an idea of depth, but then her "methods" of doing so are. Sitting on the sidelines. And crying bc she can't do anything.

Then when she does get the ability to do things, like carrying celestial force, or being able to use an idea link she's "powerful and special " while doing nothing thematically to deserve it. And continuing to be useless anyway.

Suzuno Kamizuki is such a funny character she wakes up every day in her shitty rented room next to her neighbors she's decided not to assassinate like. wow another lovely day with my good friends, 4 extraplanar warriors and a teenage girl. so glad we've all been given a second chance to embrace peace, truly #blessed. and then she goes out and solves problems with violence

One of my favorite small (and probably unintentional) detail in the Devil is a part timer is Rika repeatedly being the deliverer of emotional epiphanies in the main cast.

The warmth Emi feels when she realizes somebody cares about her as a human being rather than The Hero, her speech when she first meets Ashiya and gives him his first genuine praise, and he's like 'oh, guess I am important here', and the infamous "A God who asks you to kill is no God at all", which puts Suzuno's station as a High Inquisiter in a perspective that helps her pull away from the church.

It's such a small thing story wise that has such a huge impact on their character arcs, and I just think that's neat.

Unpopular opinion, bc I see a lot of fans upset with how the tdiapt novels ended, but personally, Chiho ending up with Maou instead of Emi isn't so bad.

Listen, all that character growth and relationship development between the two building just to be ignored at the last stop was a move that... didn't have to be made. It was mean to those hoping they were endgame, and quite frankly, the more developed relationship in terms of writing.

HOWEVER, I also really like Emi as an independent force, and I feel like she and Maou NOT being together gives her more room to find herself, so to speak. She's the character who went through the most emotionally and mentally throughout the story, and her whole belief system and history as she knew them were flipped upside down multiple times. She had to come to peace with essentially rebuilding her whole self identity from the ground up in a way that most other characters didn't- most importantly, that Maou didn't. The presumed time after the story closes is a time where she's still settling into that new identity, and personally, it means more to me that she chose to do that alone.

(Plus,I could go on for ages about how Emi and Maou being the Divorced Couple (tm) is the best relationship dynamic in the whole franchise. Change my mind)
