Heyyyy. So I wrote two Warriors fics a while back on a separate blog for that purpose, but I looked at them and they could use work in the pros and having-consistent-tense department. So I edited them and here it is! Basically the same fic but touched up. A remaster if you will lmao

Honestly, my current favorite idea for the Windclan coup attempt by Mudclaw in my rewrite, is that it would have almost certainly worked if it wasn't for plain opportunism.
Like, Mudclaw's followers were loyal to him, he was a spry aggressive deputy to contrast Tallstar's more passive nature, and that earned him plenty of loyalty, particularly when he was fighting against Shadowclan tooth and claw when Windclan was getting expelled.
So by all right, the announcement that Tall changed his mind last second and made Onewhisker deputy (which was his own decision here, not Starclan's) in private and corroborated by only the Thunderclan leader, a coup should have been a cakewalk for Mud.
Walk into the leaders den, make Onewhisker say that he lied, and reclaim leadership. No one actually thinks fucking Onewhisker would be a good leader, so very limited opposition. Hell, Mud may not have even been planning on killing One, just chase him off the territory.
The only problem was, Onewhisker was related to quite a few cats. And those relatives realized that they were now not only related to the leader, but it was timid, yes-man, 'does what you say if you say it firm enough' Onewhisker. So when Mud goes and tries to question the story and intimidate One, he finds voices of opposition, Cats going to Onestar's defense, much firmer ones.
Basically, Mudclaw was defeated by the power of opportunism and promises of Cronyism/nepotism.
And also Thunderclan, no way in hell was Fire going to let this much of an opportunity just slip by.
Suffice to say, that imposter syndrome was hitting Onestar hard due to knowing just how he lived past that night.

You know what would be neat? Choosing Mentors for apprentices getting turned into a political game.
A Mentor will almost always fundamentally shape an Apprentices world view and more likely then not, create a bond between them. Every apprentice is a new potential ally and a cat on your side for a bid for the deputyship.
Connections aren't only between families and bloodlines (Maybe those will even be deprioritized by the clan structure) but between who mentored who.
Maybe warriors are almost expected to support their former mentors when it comes to politics.
Warriors will want to be assigned kits that are deemed to have talent, not only for the credit and the opportunity to watch them grow, but because if they do end up being great warriors, they can almost certainly count on their support in future attempts to climb rank.
Basically, you know what would make the Clans better, Cronyism

The eternal question of why doesn't Starclan do more can, I think, be pretty easily answered by them just 1. firmly not caring, and 2.It not being in their best interest to meddle in living affairs to a certain extent. Which I think even gives the prophecies a pretty ingenues reason for existing.
On the first point, my two preferred takes on Starclan, as either a heavenly bureaucracy which is constantly fighting itself to get anything done, or an unfathomably old almost hivemind of cats that have lived centuries which are the ones that actually make decisions.
Either way, in Starclan's view, their function in the clan is to preserve the code by giving prophecies and handing down 9 lives to leaders. Then sit back and enjoy the worship the living give them.
Some nosey protagonist suddenly showing up and demanding answers to whatever problems would pretty easily be brushed aside as not Starclans problem. Either any action to help the protagonist would be stifled because there will almost always be Starclan cats more sympathetic to the antagonist, or the cats that actually know and make decisions have perceived centuries and cannot be bothered to help every self important dipshit that think their personal issues deserve Starclan's attention. If they help this one cat, it will surely invite every other cat to do the same. Whatever happens, the clans will persevere, and the Stars will shine eternal.
On the second note. What if they help Firestar and then Tigerstar ultimately wins anyways? The entire clans are changed to fit the new Tigerclan status quo. Unlikely if he doesn't have nine lives, but possible. What happens when he realizes that Starclan sided with his opponent, or any other situation where Starclan explicitly plays favorites and then loses? Well... that could create some very dangerous situation for them if the winner then decides to create Starclan 2.0, or cat Protestantism, ect.
It is objectively better for both Starclan's longevity, and the clans survival, for them to sit on the sidelines of major political or ideological battles.
Which is where the often derided prophecies come in. Besides it being difficult to know the future, maybe the vagueness is the point. After all, directly sending down the message which throws support by name one way or the other could be dangerous as previously mentioned, but keep it to vague mentions and metaphors, and you can interpret that one way or another. Even if Starclan's preferred interpretation loses, they still have plausible deniability.
Basically, them being vague, flowery, and riddle-ey could be a way for Starclan to still exert influence and direct the clans while not putting their influence over the Clan in danger.

Warriors re-write focusing on changing up the Clans Political system and specifically on Firestar and his kin's control over Thunderclan
I have always been interested by the idea of Firestar being this great hero, and then nothing but a mediocre leader who makes the same exact decisions and calls as any other cat. Firestar, who couldn't be crushed by all manner of horrible cats or the prejudice of his community, yet Clan politics grinds him into a cog all the same. That and the idea of Thunderclan being basically controlled by the "Fire Dynasty" due to the nepotism that cannon brought up and then never really did anything with.
From bright eyed cat that saved the Clans to a failed leader is such a compelling arc. His battle against Tigerclan creating so much support and mythology that the idea he can't actually live up to it is unthinkable. And then his death spurring his descendants into power off the back of his Legacy.
Maybe throwing in a leader between Fire and Bramble, Bramblestar being the ultimate endpoint of a questionable leader coasting off their predecessors legacy, and having the dubious honor of representing the combination of both the Fire and Tiger bloodlines political power as one. And then hands it off straight back to Squirrelstar because off course.
Also it takes place in Bulgaria. Either in the Balkan mountains or the city of Sofia. And maybe they have access to fur and leatherwork because cats with kalpak's is a fantastic mental image.

love the aus and your designs!! they rock :D
OMG thank you so much!!!!!! I had a lot of fun with the AU. Both thinking on the stories and the situation
I liked my takes on the characters I did design quite a bit. Don't know if I am gonna make any more, but it got me to really start practicing character design so I am glad I committed to what I did make of them

The Damned Four Warriors AU
You know all those cats that everyone in the fandom always asks how they got into Starclan, what if Starclan themselves started asking that same question?
This AU follows four cat's that were let into Starclan originally now being put into 'probation' after they don't improve as people in the slightest. Four spirits get sent back to the mortal realm and do Starclan's (Clear Sky's) will or get booted to the Dark Forest. I am not entirely sure what that 'Will' is mind you, but things from fighting back Dark Forest spirits (which are a bit more "dark nightmare creatures" in this AU) and orchestrating some of Starclan's less ethical mortal meddling. Essentially, every time Starclan begins to screw cats over and random events happen that allow for prophecies to succeed, these four are the ones sent to do it. Suicide Squad but with Ghost Cats if you will.
Now, you might say that throwing a bunch of already angered and restless spirits who all died violently into situations which will only further anger and hurt them isn’t a good way to make them better, and you would be right.
The line up:
Mudclaw: His coup attempt enraged Starclan and there was a lot of debate, but his life of being basically a model Warrior: traditionalist, brave, ready to fight, and reverence for Starclan got him enough good boy points for them to let him in. Also his 'lawyers' (spirits on his side) basically just blamed Hawkfrost for everything. However, he was not content with this, and as Mudclaw increasingly began to stew in rage and bitterness over his smiting and Starclan's intervention in Windclan, they started getting nervous. Starclan spirit's do have some power over the real world, not a lot, but enough to where one rogue Starclan spirit could cause a lot of problems. So they kicked Mudclaw into this group to keep him under control and generally just give him something to do.
Ashfur: Was let in for generally the same reasons as Mudclaw, but slightly less so. He wasn't that exceptional of a warrior, but Starclan was currently still panicking over the existence of The Three. Ashfur was convincing enough and the Higher spirits didn’t really want to deal with anything regarding any of the three for now (also they don’t particularly like Squirrelflight) so they generally just gave him the benefit of the doubt. As his obsession continued in Starclan however, the powers that be basically saw the plot of TBC coming. Ashfur is here so they can keep an eye on him and keep him away from anything important.
Needletail: Out of the four, she is the one that Starclan came closest to just chucking into the dark forest. The whole “Kin” incident angered them greatly, as Clancats betrayed their own at the whims of rogues. Her heroic sacrifice won them over enough to let her in, but Needletails general aversion to authority and caustic side remained. Basically, when they got this idea, she was already on the short list of cats they wanted gone.
Appledusk: After Mapleshade went on a rampage (which was partially their fault) they wanted someone to blame alongside Mapleshade, so they settled on Frecklewish. However, as Maple then became a major river demon that drowned apprentices and inflicted generational curses, fingers started pointing again. With everyone else involved being either a leader or a medicine cat (both of which would implicitly lay blame on Starclan) Appledusk was the next one up to get thrown under a bus.
The four are thus no longer Starclan cats, they have been cut off from the stars and their connections to the ancestral plain (I will go more into that later). They can freely roam the earth and each have certain powers that let them influence the mortal world. Also, due to them not being associated with Starclan, at least officially, they can be made easy scapegoats if things go wrong and either the mortals or other Starclan cats start having questions.
This is all overseen by Clear Sky, (if this is a suicide squad anaology, he is the “Amanda Waller”) who was ‘chosen’ (decided) to guide them and punish them if necessary. He is essentially a lesser god and the one that gives them their orders. The question of what is Starclan’s will and what is HIS will is one that tends to pop up.
Overview of all the characters, subject to change based on how I think they would act and also on any new ideas
Feel free to ask questions and also suggestions, this is very barebones so I would be happy to develop it. The cast is not set in stone, or the lore, or the story, or much of anything.

TDF AU: Ashfur Link to the TDF au TLDR: Starclan, after letting Ashfur into their ranks, remembers that he is in fact a dick, so they kick him to the mortal realm as a spirit to act as their messenger (with some company in tow). He doesn't take this well.
I am sure giving him supernatural powers that he can exert over the living will go well for everyone involved
Uuuuh hello. Here is some more art as a practice some designs and what I want my style to be. You can easily notice the differences between this and the Apple one, I will try to get like a mini comic with the two of them just to figure out how I want their designs and shit. Might try to do some writing, Always happy to take suggestions and Asks. TDF askblog coming 2026 some part of that statement was a joke, I don't know which one.

Do you think Clear Sky gets fed up with Ashfur after his obsession nearly jeopardizes a mission and scolds him with” look I mated with my brother and son’s crushes but they got over it and you don’t see them whining about it”?
Jhjhhjghjl, that is a very funny scenario to think about. Clear Sky would definitely make such flippant remarks, especially if he got caught up in listening to one of Ashfur's many rants
In terms of jeopardizing missions, Ashfur is an odd one
Ashfur is indeed a bit of a wild card. Generally on the Cold blooded end of the spectrum in the group. He has a strongly self centered view of morality, convinced that what he is doing is at least okay because it's him doing it, using the fact he ended up in Starclan (and ignoring his current situation) as justification for why he is a good person no matter what he does. So he is pretty quick to go along with a plan no matter how immoral, oftentimes being the key part in orchestrating the most horrific parts of it with his possession/manipulation.
That's not to say that he goes along with things joyously or is sadistic, though that could certainly be true in certain scenarios. Ashfur tends to project or see parts of his life in mortal cats a lot, which affects his judgement and actions.
Now, all Four do this to some extent, they are at the end of the day fickle, bitter, spirits and Clear Sky has only so much of a leash to hold them on. But Ashfur does it A LOT.
The whole "Spirit with the power to screw with mortals" really does go to his head, especially with the invasive power he was given. So he might see fit to manipulate cats entirely due to the way he projects his own experiences in their lives, maybe helping certain cats he "empathizes" with due to seeing himself in them, or being particularly cruel on certain cats due to bearing a resemblance to Bramble ect.

Yeah I can totally see why Ashfur has no sympathy for Appledusk when it comes to Mapleshade. In turn Appledusk probably wishes he could stuff Ashfur in a sack and feed him to the dogs whenever he rambles about Squirrelflight and her family.
The two of them definitely hate each other, beyond the level of simple annoyances and not generally wanting to be there like everyone else. This is.more pronounced from Ashfur's side than Appledusk's. He sees him as everything wrong with a relationship. Someone who is completely willing to turn on his lover and betray their trust, just like Squirrelflight. Ashfur is happy to project most of his anger at his "mate" on Appledusk.
Appledusk mostly keeps to himself, but he notices the glares from Ashfur's side. As well as finding him exceptionally annoying over all.
Ashfur does in fact ramble on about Squirrelflight, recounting HIS version of events to the group whenever he is feeling particularly vengeful. None of them actually know how things went down, but they do know Ashfur, so they can read between the lines.
Appledusk in particular is increasingly uncomfortable hearing Ashfur's rants. Was this what was going through Mapleshade's head, was this what she thought of him as she slashed his throat. The venom in the gray cat's voice raises his neck fur more than he likes to admit.

I bet Mudclaw feels really vindicated when he sees Onestar’s poor leadership. I think he was laughing when he saw WindClan trying to drive ThunderClan out like Brokenstar once did to them. Perhaps he said, “You see Firestar? You should have let me become leader. I would have never have done that you.”
Oh, he definitely felt vindictive joy seeing it play out against Firestar, who he holds special hatred for his meddling in Windclan affairs, but the ones he holds most responsible are Starclan.
They sent the message, they killed him. And in the end, he was hoping for some sort of acknowledgement, an apology and a remembrance as him clearly being the superior choice.
But that doesn't happen, Starclan by en large ignores most of it and even One stars major failure of Darktail, while being something that he is criticized for by Starclan, but that doesn't satisfy Mudclaw.
Onestar's failures as a leader just serve to further embitter Mudclaw.

How does Appledusk feel about Mapleshade trying to wipe his bloodline?
He is profoundly... Un-interested in it.
If a descendent of his made a prayer to him for protection or some such, he would grant it, but he wouldn't really take any proactive steps.
He wants as little to do with Mapleshade as possible, and he spends most of his time in Starclan sulking.
death left him empty and shaken, Appledusk tries to disconnect himself from his own life and the shame it brings as much as possible.
Mapleshade's quest for vengeance on his bloodline would be simply another mark of the ever increasing pile of woes he has, and that he also doesn't want to particularly acknowledge or deal with.

Hiii it's been a while! Just wanted to ask a few questions regarding designs mostly
1. Do any of the other ghosts have scars like Appledusk? Im gonna assume Ashfur does, but what about Needletail and Mudclaw?
2. Is the aura around Appledusk his power?
Helllloooo, yes it has been a while, excited to be back with something.
1. I am still ironing out exactly how the spectres work (ignore that I described them slightly differently in past works ) but yeah, when they got kicked out of Starclan all the spirits got some marking of their deaths, and it did in fact hurt. Needletail might be dripping water as if she was drowning/several bite makes depending on how I interpret her death. Mudclaw is maybe gonna get a large red gash across his back to show where the tree first hit him
2.Yep, that aura is part of his power. I didn't do a particularly good job of showing what it is but essentially it is a barrier/warding that he uses to hide his presence and also some amount of funky spirit stuff like banishing other demons. His powers are a lot more based on the spiritual world than the physical one, so that's how I decided to visualize it

Appledusk from my TDF AU
Old Appleboy is damned along with three others, barred from Starclan and now has to do missions as a specter in order to re-earn his place. He isn't happy about it. You can read about the AU, (and this mopey, sad, idiot) here AU
First piece of art for the au, might be the last, ify on the end result, We will see how I am feeling. I might disapear for a month and return with a different artstyle. anyways, thats that, Asks are always welcome!

https://www.tumblr.com/bozawarriorsposting/753496155053260800/how-did-clear-sky-feel-about-the-clan-he-started I see. He probably was pretty happy when he learned of Brokenstar and gloated to Molepelt and Tall Shadow about how a tyrant would come attempt to the destroy the Clans as punishment for SkyClan.
Honestly, I don't entirely remember what the curse was in Cannon, but...
Maybe as Brokentail slept, he dreamt of vast open spaces where he alone was king, how he towered over all others as a singular monolith of authority, how cats bent to his will, his will cast over the clans like the sky itself...
Clear Sky was always vindictive, and though there was little he could do about the situation, he could hurt other as punishment for it.
When one Shadow clan medicine cat caught his scorn in particular, he channeled the feelings of authority and power which he embodies, and put a curse on Shadow clan as punishment, a curse of tyranny. His influence festered until eventually Brokenstar emerged.
Clear Sky's fun was cut short sooner than he had hoped, partially by Thunder's own pet project.

Note
How did Clear Sky feel about the Clan he started getting driven out and having his son’s Clan have to reform it?
Oh, he ain't Happy about it all
The other four founder are at least somewhat connected to their clans, (Thunder in particular gets accused of favoritism quite a bit, both in who in Starclan gets to deliver messages and what cats get blessings in the Clans) but Clear Sky is completely detached from Skyclan after they got driven out.
He was angered by their expulsion and tried to prevent it to some degree, but as time went on and Skyclan suffered defeats and collapse, he cut his losses.
He has no interest in Modern Skyclan beyond disgust and seeing it as an insult. The clan that carries his name was one formed with the help of some Thunderclan kittypet, his bastard sons favorite one, and is composed of loners who barely know Clan customs. Essentially, he is more than happy to let the Four cause general mayhem with very few parameters.
