Martin Bryant shortly after his arrest, trying to get authorities to reveal how many people he killed during the Port Arthur Massacre. The excitement on his face is quite evident throughout the interview. On 28 April, 1996, Bryant shot and killed David and Sally Martin, the owners of a local Bed & Breakfast. Following this, Bryant made his way to Port Athur to begin what would become one of the world’s deadliest shootings committed by one perpetrator, indiscriminately killing 35 people and wounding another 23. Martin Bryant is currently serving 35 life sentences plus 1,035 years without parole.

The murder of 20-year-old Swedish au pair, Karina Holmer, is one of Boston’s most gruesome unsolved crimes. Karina had won around $1500 in the lottery in Sweden and decided to use the money to go to the United States where she became an au pair.
On the 20th of June, 1996, Karina and several of her friends went for drinks at the Zanzibar nightclub. When it closed, Karina was seen “bouncing around” an alley near the club. She was intoxicated and was complaining that her friends had abandoned her. There were varying witness reports from the early morning hours outside the club. One witness said they saw Karina sitting in a car. Another said they had seen her singing and dancing with a homeless man.
At some point between 3AM and 4AM, Karina either went willingly or was forced to a place where she was brutally murdered. 12 hours later, the top half of her body was discovered in a dumpster in the Fenway Park area. A ligature mark was on her neck and she had been meticulously severed in half and scrubbed clean. The bottom half of her body was never found, thus it was never determined if she had been raped or not. Her body had been placed in a bag. The only piece of evidence was a partial unknown fingerprint found on the plastic bag. Police ran it through the database but there was no match.
Despite an exhaustive investigation and countless leads, the killer was never caught.

Hindsight of a specific event can haunt somebody indefinitely. When John’s wife, Dena Schlosser, referenced a bible passage one night and said she wanted their 10-month-old daughter, Margaret, to go to heaven, he thought nothing of it. This moment plays on his mind every single day; the morning after this declaration, Dena brutally murdered their daughter as John was at work.
John and Dena lived in Plano, Texas, with Margaret, and their two other daughters who were 6 and 9-years-old. Before the birth of Margaret, Dena worked at Children’s World Learning Center. Afterwards, however, she suffered tremendously and was treated for postpartum depression for most of the year. Just the day after giving birth, Dena attempted suicide by slicing both of her wrists. On one occasion, she ran away from home leaving the children home alone. She was picked up two miles away and released from the hospital less than 24 hours later. CPS had become involved and monitored the family for six months but eventually closed the case when they believed Dena was better. They couldn’t have been more wrong.
On the 22nd of November, 2004, Dena called John at work and told him she had cut off Margaret’s arms. The police were alerted and they called Dena at home as officers rushed to the scene. “I cut her arms off,” she told the operator. When police arrived at the home, they found Dena who was covered in blood and holding a knife. She was listening to a church hymn and had a deep gash on her own shoulder. They rushed to Margaret’s bedroom and found her dying in her blood-drenched crib. Both of her arms had been hacked off at each shoulder. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
After her arrest, Dena told psychiatrists that she had psychotic episodes and felt commanded by God to cut off Margaret’s arms followed by her own limbs and head. With the large gash on her own shoulder, it appeared as though she had attempted to comply to these voices. During her trial, Dr. William Reid testified that those closest to Dena had missed the clear signs of severe mental illness that had been festering due to lack of treatment. Four months before the murder of Margaret, Dena had stopped seeing her doctor and had stopped medication.
After her arrest, she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and was found not guilty by reason of insanity. She was sectioned at the North Texas State Hospital where she shared a room with Andrea Yates. She was released in 2011 and went on to work at a local Walmart. After locals discovered her identity, she was fired.

what happened to this person? like are u okay my dude? cuz the image of ted bundy in a button up with no pants on angrily staring at me from the corner of the room is haunting me and I need closure
i have a question i need to ask, im a very shy person and you seem really nice so i thought this would be a good idea. is it normal to see ted bundy appear in my room everynight at 3 am sharp? is that normal? because it happens, he just stands there with no pants on and it REALLY scares me.
not normal. maybe you have some kind of sleep paralysis or lucid dreaming but i can see how that would disturb you. im kind of intrigued though…… does he always stand in one spot? if that’s the case maybe put a chair or a bookcase there. i used to have trouble with shadow people for a while when i was younger so i started closing the door to my room because i’d always see them walk down the hallway straight towards me. i also re-arranged my furniture. good luck

On 25 November, 1988, 17-year-old, Junko Furuta, was abducted by seven boys while walking home after attending a class. They took Furuta to one of their homes and forced her to tell her parents that she was staying with a friend. Once inside the home, she endured 44 days of every imaginable form of torture. She
was repeatedly raped and beat by the boys but that was only the beginning. Throughout the 44 days Furuta was forced to eat cockroaches, forced to drink her own urine and burned with cigarettes. The boys poured gasoline on her feet and legs and set them alight. They used Furuta as a punch bag and raped and sodomised her with bottles and cigarettes and a hot light bulb. As well as these heinous tortures she was also beat with bamboo sticks and fireworks set off in her anus and vagina. Hot wax was poured on her face and her nipples and nails were ripped off with pliers. On one occasion shears were put into her vagina and as a result caused haemorrhage, which left her unable to urinate.
Furuta begged her abductors to kill her, but the torture and abuse carried on for 44 days, until finally, her body gave up. She died of shock, terrified, in pain, and alone. After her death the boys put her body in a cylinder and filled it with concrete. It took a year for her body to be found but the depravity of the crime were compounded by a terrible miscarriage of justice - the young perpetrators got off very lightly and are all now free men, their real names kept private due to their young ages.
