i need to update this so much has changed
Hello. You may call me Zoia. I am a self-identified "armchair magician" with a passion for occult, mystery, and ancient civilization. I am passionate for all things sociology, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, religion, and biology. I am fluent in english and currently a beginner in Romanian and Russian.
~~~~~~~~~~
I believe in shedding light to that which has been hidden in the dark and in showing the darkness of that which has been cast in the light.
I believe in balance, mirrors, exploration of the psyche. I believe in egoism and selflessness, life and death, justice and evil. I know it to be true that the world lives off of these rules:
• Nature knows no kings. All things are connected. No man is above another. The body is nothing and the body is everything. The soul is eternal, singular yet all-encompassing. Everything with a yes is a no, and good and evil live inside all living creatures, and often in the non-living as well.
•Constructs like gender and ethnicity are meaningful as they provide personal identity and connection to true self and ancestry, but the obsession of the criteria needed to meet these roles and the existence of them at all aside from their ability to provide joy or knowledge binds people into egoism, insecurity, + delusion, causing intense division and often violence.
•The body is just as important as the soul as it is a vessel for which we are able to utilize our free will in favor of our needs, wants, desires. It houses our soul and all the souls before us, and should be treated with respect and love, but not narcissism. The body is not something to be escaped, it is a tool to be used to shape the earthly world to your desires. As above, so below. Do not obsess over ascension lest you never come down.
•Science is real, with exceptions for magical circumstances. Magic is real, with limits for scientific circumstances. They are one in the same.
•All things are magic. The ability to speak, to move your body where you wish, cooking, cleaning, sewing, gardening, masturbating, eating, listening to music, the fact that you are who you are exactly where you are and not somewhere else being someone else. Even if accommodations must be made and certain handicaps may limit you, the ability to be alive at all is magic. We are all chosen for something earthly and divinely unique.
•Your ancestry has the answers you seek. So do the ancestors of someone on the other side of the world. Know yourself, and know others as you know yourself. There is wisdom in connection, in difference.
•No one knows the land better than the natives of it. Pay no mind to new age snake oil salesmen who's only connection comes from distant observation. Dive deeply into whatever it is you are researching, speak to those who truly live it, listen to and accept all perspectives, and know your boundaries. Show respect and never get too smart for your own good. You should know well enough of the consequences if you don't.
•There is a counterpart and equal to all things. We are conceived from a spirit, born through the waters of the womb, ignited like a fire with passion to exist, and buried in the dirt. No man is above another.
I am currently studying eastern european and slavic mysticism, paganism, and ancient history. I am inspired most by Grecian + Roman Religion, Jewish Mysticism + Qabalah, Abrahamic Religions + Eastern Orthodoxy, Gnosticism, Native American Religions and Spirituality, Druids, Sorcery, Hermeticism, Thelema, Hinduism, + Zoroastrianism.
I have slavic and Romanian heritage, but reside near the Appalachian mountains in America and grew up in Dakota/Lakota territory, and am very inspired by First Nations beliefs as I know they truly have dominion over this land and know it better than anyone else would.
I am also undergoing a personal journey that seeks for me to get in touch with my ancestors and thus I am creating this blog as a collection of information which I will be using to get back into practical magic and sorcery. I am solitary and have been non-practicing for some time now, so I may not be the most knowledgeable. I am always open to learn and be challenged with new or differing opinions and beliefs.
I have no label and am a wanderer, both in spirit and in earthly life. My story is long and confusing, one of seperation, loss, abuse, isolation, heartbreak, and—ultimately—victory and true peace.
As long as we confuse the myriad forms of the divine /i/a with reality, without perceiving the unity of Brahman underlying all these forms, we are under the spell of maya. Maya, therefore, does not mean that the world is an illusion, as is often wrongly stated. The illusion merely lies in our point of view, if we think that the shapes and structures, things and events, around us are realities of nature, instead of realizing that they are concepts of our measuring and categorizing minds. Maya is the illusion of taking these concepts for reality, of confusing the map with the territory. In the Hindu view of nature, then, all forms are relative, fluid and ever-changing maya, conjured up by the great magician of the divine play. The world of maya changes continuously, because the divine /i/a is a rhythmic, dynamic play.
2024 Aries First Quarter Moon
Thursday, January 18, 03:53 UT, 27°32’ Aries
The key phrases for the First Quarter lunar phase are “take action,” and “build new structures to support your intention.”
We may feel either a lot of pressure, or cornered, or both. There’s a sense of needing to take immediate action, which may or may not be valid. Our “guts” may be talking louder than our hearts and brains. It may be tricky to set up any dialogue between the three - try to wait for a few hours, if possible, for the Moon to enter Taurus (08:12 UT Thursday the 18th).
Because once that happens - well, the Moon is comfortable in Taurus anyway, and on top of that she’ll make sextiles to all the Pisces placements (Saturn, Neptune) and trines to the Capricorn ones (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Pluto), as well as conjunctions to Jupiter and Uranus. This is The Cosmos telling you that now is the time to get to work.
Money bowl 💵
Tumblr media
I usually cleanse & remake my money bowl every 1st of the month.
💨 I smoke cleanse the bowl. I found it in a decor shop some time ago. I also smoke cleanse every other item individually.
🍃At the very bottom is a bay leaf with a wish/intention on it. Lately, mine have been wishing for career-related abundance.
🍚 On top of it is a mix of rice, cinnamon, oat & orange peals. I also put cinnamon sticks at the end.
🕯️I had a green candle which will be lit through the whole process. I recently started leaving it in.
💰The bag is full of different currency from traveling. It contains special coins & more basic ones.
👝Any pocket money I don't like or think is useful (5¢, 10¢...) I keep in my wallet & give to people in a state of homelessness when I walk in the city.
🔮 I added Citrine & Tiger eye to help focusing on my financial goals & soothe the fear & anxiety I have about money.
P.s. I hate the term "money bowl". Any other word for it?
I’m sure I’m not the only person who has thought of this, but here’s the single-most successful component of my money bowl spells: donating the money I feed it to people who are unhoused.
About once a month, I gather up all the change in my money bowl and put it into a little cloth baggy. I usually have at least $5. Sometimes it’s a lot more. Then I give that money to the first person I see asking for change at an intersection or in a shopping plaza.
I feel like the pay-it-forward aspect of the money bowl in that way is more ethical and does more good.
I grew up very low income and have struggled financially most my life. But the universe has always granted me small extra funds when I need it the most, and I’ve seen amazing results from my money bowl spells.
This way though, I’m not just helping myself, I’m helping others. And of course there are plenty of other things I do to help people that I don’t go into detail on via social media because I think it sort of defeats the purpose to brag about it.
I changed up my prosperity altar with a couple of new spells, plus a new money cat! The money cat was actually in a blind box, and I’m taking it to be a positive sign!
I’m also adding an emoji spell here because I’m graduating in May and really need to find a job 🤞🏼
Money Bowl Magic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What is a money bowl?"
a money bowl is a spell, ritual, and a tool used by witches to manifest and attract financial gain, financial stability, and prosperity. how often this is used and the details on the making of this tool differ between different people with different practices, so feel free to do lots of research before making your own! however, today I am going to go into the details of how i've made mine and how I upkeep it.
For those that have never done a money bowl before, lets learn to set one up now...
To make a money bowl you will need:
a bowl or dish
a white or green candle
spare change or cash
white rice
herbs (chamomile, catnip, dried orange peel, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, mint, dill and oregano are what I use)
(OPTIONAL) any trinkets you may have that represent money or new opportunities (I.E. a spare key, as it represents the opening of new doors) and crystals or crystal chips
Now, let’s set up your money bowl!
before we do anything with magic, it is always important to cleanse your space. Do this now, however you see fit.
now, take your bowl and add rice to it. while you do this, visualize money and abundance coming your way. imagine all the ways it could come to you (I.E. a new job, a gift, a bonus at work, etc.)
now, add all your spices to the bowl on top of the rice. as you add each herb remember to set your intentions for the herbs and thank them for the blessings they are calling your way. always remember that gratitude can make a world of difference.
take your candle and carve a sigil into it. this is representative of your intentions. for those who are new to sigils, you can learn more here.
place your candle into the center of your bowl and then, if you chose at add trinkets, crystals, crystal chips, do so at this time in a circle around the candle. remember again, to take your time thanking each trinket and crystal for the work they are doing.
add your spare change to the top, and then your money bowl is done!
"Now that I have made my money bowl, what do I do with it?"
Now that you've created your money bowl and fed your intentions into it, it's time to upkeep it! You can do this as often as you'd like (though anymore than once a week is a bit unnecessary, in my opinion). As many of you may know, I practice lunar magic, so I tend to feed my money bowl once a month in line with the moon cycle, but, again, when or how often you choose to do this is up to you.
"How do I feed my money bowl?"
Here are some steps I take each month to recharge and refeed my bowl:
take the time to sit down in front of your down within a scheduled set time (again, once a week, once a month, its up to you). setting this time with intention can bring importance to this ritual, which is truly important.
when you do sit with it, set very specific intentions. don't sit down and say "I want money". describe what you want, when you want it, and how you want to receive it. feel free to set specific goals as well. this can help with the manifestation process (as long as you are willing to put in the work as well)
make sure you are lighting a candle each time you sit with it. lighting a candle charges the bowl and feeds it energy. this is important to the process. (NOTE: if you are using a tealight candle that you will have to change out every time, you may want to re-carve the sigil into each new candle.)
ask your spirit guides to aid you in charging your bowl. you can leave offerings to your guides and pray to them in hopes that they will aid you. I like to do this each time that I recharge my bowl, just to keep the connections strong with each reset.
trust your gut and take active notice of changes. if you feel that you are manifesting quicker, feel free to feed the bowl even more often. don't let that good energy go to waste. let it grow!
journal and take notes. write down how you feel, how the process makes you feel, track your progress, etc. taking the time to write about rituals can help us perfect them in the future and feel more connected to them in the present.
Tumblr media
That's all for money bowls! I hope that you found this helpful in your spiritual journey and I hope that you are able to apply this information to your practice.
if you have any questions regarding anything discussed here or anything you feel that I have missed, please send an ask to my ask box! I appreciate all comments and questions!
For more information on my practice, witchcraft, herbalism, spirit work, and divination please check out the guide on my page (linked here)! Everything I have ever posted can be found there!
I wish you all a blessed day filled with peace, endless wealth, and eternal health! Until the next time we meet!
Money Bowl
Tumblr media
How to Create a Money Bowl
You will need:
Bowl
Rice - for abundance
Money Oil
Coins, cash, etc. (This can even be paper with dollar signs/money signs written in green or gold.)
Cinnamon sticks - for money
A green candle - for money, prosperity, abundance, wealth
Bay leaves
Basil (or other money related herbs and spices)
Pyrite - to attract money and prosperity
Clear Quartz - to amplify the spellwork
-----
Fill your bowl with rice up to a height you're comfortable with.
On a separate plate or napkin, layout the basil. (You can add any other spices or herbs that will help with your money bowl.) Dress the candle with your money oil. (This can be purchased pre-made from your local magick shop or you can make your own. If you don't have any, you can use whatever oil you have on hand.) Roll the candle in the herbs and make sure it's coated well.
Place the candle at the center of the bowl and start placing your stuff inside! I used rolled up cash (whatever amount you'd like), cinnamon sticks, basil with my petitions written on them, etc. Feel free to add more money-drawing items or remove what you feel isn't serving you.
Decorate your box with crystals and other items. I used a pyrite elephant and pyrite cluster since pyrite is associated with money and wealth, but I also used a clear quartz to amplify the shellwork and boost the money-drawing power.
I placed my bowl on top of my clear box with tips from the place I bartend at, but you can put your bowl wherever makes sense to you. The key is to "work" the bowl and continue to add/remove items, light the candle, add drops of oil, replace an old candle with a new one, etc. Since I have my bowl sitting on top of my money box, inserting money into the box is like I'm "feeding" the box/bowl with that energy.
I think the most important part to remember is that this bowl is personal and entirely up to you. Everyone's bowl will look different and people will "work" their bowls differently, which I think is really cool. There is no right or wrong way to make a money bowl, but it is a lot of trial and error. I'd love to hear what other people would use in their money bowl, so feel free to comment below to let me know!
