A mediocre summary of Jax’s backstory:

Jax had a girlfriend when she was 19 or so that she met in college, and during winter break she brought her over to her house to meet her dad, dad is secretly obsessed with Jax’s girlfriend and plans to kill Jax to get to her, the dad ends up tricking Jax into going hunting with him and shoot Jax in the face with a shotgun, which left her heavily disfigured and completely shattered her jaw (she was shot from a bit of a distance so it’s more believable that she survived), dad drove off, Jax was presumed dead and was taken to the morgue (Idk it was just a really bad hospital or something) dad ended up killing the girlfriend brutally after she rejected him, he doesn’t know what to do with the body and just hides it in the basement. Jax wakes up and leaves the morgue in the middle of the night, she gets home and is confused on where her girlfriend is, Jax finds the dead body of her girlfriend, puts 2 and 2 together, then she brutally murders her dad and goes on a killing spree. The only thing she has left to remember her girlfriend by being her bracelet that Jax refuses to take off.

A poor summary of Amelia Cortez’s backstory:

Amelia is the child of second generation immigrants from Mexico and unfortunately grew up in an abusive household, eventually CPS came when she was like 16 an she was put in a group home that didn’t take proper care of her, she grew up, became a manager at a cheep hotel, heard a guy abusing his girlfriend, she intervened and the girlfriend ran off with the guy’s car, Amelia murdered the dude, cooked him up and served him as sausage patties for complimentary breakfast at the hotel for a while, eventually the girlfriend called the police because she hasn’t heard from her boyfriend in ages and then Amelia changed her name and has been on the run ever since.
