Wait, so the guy “stole” his own research?
That’s not really stealing, tho.

currently thinking about how funny it would be to have a group of those kinky mechsploitation lesbian pilots with the fucked up handler hound dynamics and throw one (1 ☝️) super robot shonen girl in there who's completely unaffected

i think one of the main issues with "dating culture" in total is that the actual percentage of humans who want or need to pair bond or reproduce is a lot lower than we think it is and this creates conflict from dumping an enormous amount of resources into pursuing unsatisfactory goals, having an identity crisis when yet another relationship or partner is boring or disappointing, going through a destructive breakup and resource partition, and then being coerced into starting over from the beginning and just doing this over and over until we die. i don't think relationships and love and romantic attachment are fake I just think a lot of people don't actually need or want them who have been convinced otherwise

When you're in the business of cataloging isekai you come to realise that the genre is a different thing entirely than just 'character goes to another world', at least from a modern perspective. Genres as categories rely on a number of tropes, and it's obvious on its face that Danmachi (which does not feature another world) is much closer genre-wise to proper isekais like SAO or re:zero than something like inuyasha or ff14's Shadowbringers expansion, despite both of those revolving around another world. So simply taking place in another world is not enough. And while a lot of people have thrown around jokes about things like "is Alice in wonderland an isekai" and other western media, it's important to be aware that the tropes of the isekai genre are not exclusive to anime. For instance, with a plot about a girl who finds herself in another world, instantly defeats a noteworthy foe and gains an overpowered relic, gathers a harem of loyal followers, defeats the ominous magical lord of the land, and successfully returns home, it is safe to say that the Wizard of Oz is a true isekai by modern standards

be careful with what series you watch/read during emotional points in your life because they will forever contain a ghost of your past self within it now

i don't even understand why so many people struggle to understand nemona when she's. you. literally you.
like imagine yourself as a kid. imagine you're a fan of pokemon. you really like pokemon. so you get really good at it. but nobody else plays it. everyone in your class thinks you're a nerd when they hear you speak about natures and types and legendaries etc. so you're alone. playing pokemon. by yourself.
and then comes this new kid. and sits next to you and asks "what are you playing". and you say "pokemon". and they watch and they say "oh it looks cool". and then one week later they say they've bought the game and wants to play with you.
can you see it now? can you see yourself? explaining them about basic typ matchups. battling their current team (not with your real team though! that one is too strong! you build new teams to adapt to your friend's level). how happy you are because you finally have someone who's interested in what you like! how cool is when they finally beat the league and you get to battle him with your champion team! how you finally have someone you can call a friend!
that's it. that's nemona. plus some family and health issues.

Queer residents were further vexed by the refusal of probation officers and halfway house supervisors to approve home plans that included same-sex female partnerships. Claire, who knew better than to disclose that she planned to live with the female partner that she had grown quite close to while incarcerated, was devastated when a fellow resident revealed their relationship to a halfway house staff member.
Claire later shared with me that she cycled into a depressive episode that lasted for weeks, after hearing the house monitor declare, “the time for y’all to be touchin, ticklin’, and gigglin’ is over. Now is when you get serious about who you want to be.”
Indeed, none of the women I met at the halfway house could cite positive past relationships with men, yet all were encouraged to pursue reentry plans that involved men. In fact, residents shared that house staff and probation officers often encouraged plans that involved a male partner, whether or not he was economically secure, but discouraged plans that included a criminally uninvolved, economically secure female partner.

Like yeah part of me gets it
I have a bad case of mommy issues and that scene hits way too close to home for me. If i was Rumi in that situation I would probably go no-contact until I felt ready to make amends, especially considering Celine could barely touch or even look at her at that point
But I dont get how people will look at a woman who straight up admits "Everything I was taught told me you were wrong" and "so I did my best to accept you and help you" (even though that wasn't enough for Rumi), and then treat her as the root of all evil when there are 6 male characters in this movie who do far worse than she ever did and dont get nearly as much flack from fans
#I'm sick and tired of people flat out unable to understand what the scene was#people write fics of mira and zoey violently attacking celine for rumi's suicide attempt once they find out#even though celine didn't want rumi to die#and she was really just fumbling over something she had no training for#it's not like she was like mira and zoey who were literally brandishing weapons towards her#not to say that celine didn't make rumi's self hatred worse#but she was by far not the villain fanon is making her out to be
