What software did you use to make the map?
I use Hex Kit, it's a pretty neat hex map editor. It's pretty useful for quickly creating hexcrawl maps and it also lets you create annotations with the content of each Hex. It also supports importing custom tilesets, and there are a lot of cool tilesets for it on itch.io
For the tileset I use here is HK-Classic, which comes included with Hex Kit, plus a couple icons from the Old Skool Hand Drawn tileset.
It costs $15 USD but I got it included with the itch.io BLM fundaraising bundle there was in 2020, so if you purchased that bundle you probably have it.

>Thank Buster’s owner, and ask Chives how she’d like to split the payment.
(Last post only got one reply, so I'm going to go with it so we don't get stuck like the other time)
Chives looks pretty disappointed at the paltry payment, to be quite honest.
She takes a look at the pips and gives them back to you "You keep this... you did most of the work anyway" she says, taking the little jar of mead.
"And the drink... if you let me keep it I could drink it, it's good booze. But if you want we could see how much we can get for it and split the money. We're heading to the market anyway, so it wouldn't even be a detour. I'd like to drink it myself but I guess it's your choice"

>Try to help her calm Buster down
(Going to do a reaction roll to see how Buster reacrs, with a -2 modifier because it's already pissed off at you)

6 - Unsure
The beetle just seems to ignore every attempt you make to calm it down. Its owner looks at you and gives you a resigned half-smile. She probably doesn't want you to keep trying and risk making Buster angrier.
"I think I can handle it from here" she says, shrugging "I thank you and your frog companion for your help and uh... Here's something for your efforts". She looks reluctant at first to give you a reward, but she hastily reaches into one of Buster's pouches and grabs a couple things seemingly at random.
She hands you and Chives a handful of 5 pips, and a clay jar full of honey mead.

We still haven't heard back from my husband's family
I'm really sorry to make this post because I've already asked for help with stuff earlier this year but... I really have no option. We haven't heard from my husband's family in Acapulco since hurricane Otis hit, and we're starting to get really worried. Even if they're alive, their house might have been damaged/destroyed because material damages to the city were terrible.
In case we don't hear from them soon, he wants to be able to travel back to mexico and try to check up in person. In case we hear back from them soon, he wants to be able to send them money to support themselves through the aftermath of the disaster.
However, we're just barely making ends meet ourselves and we don't really have the money to afford a plane flight on such short notice, so he's opening up emergency donations/commissions. His art blog is @uxrabbit , abd here's the link to his commissions post on YCH. Please help us out if you can, we don't know what to do...
Here are his paypal and ko-fi accounts

Options from the replies:
Option A: "Well.... you know how to take it from here, right?"
Option B: Try to help her calm Buster down
Option C: "and this is where i take my handsome reward from the grateful owner of a rampaging beetle :)"
>Prepare the roll of twine. When the beetle is close enough try to tie it's mandibles up
You strap your axe to your body to free up your hands and prepare the roll of twine, waiting for the beetle to reach you to try and tie up its mandibles.
(DEX Save to avoid being bitten while trying it up)
( 3 - Success)
You tie up the beetle's terifying jaws, while somehow managing to completely avoid being harmed by them. You tie several loops of the twine around the beetle's main weapon, rendering it completely inoffensive.
You spend a significant amount of the twine, and thus mark a usage dot on your roll of twine.
Suddenly, a chocolate banded mouse with a large, floppy hat comes running down the stree, almost out of breath. "Buster... there you are..." she says, panting heavily "I don't know what happened, something must have spooked him and he went crazy, flying around and biting everyone..." The beetle seems to be struggling agaisn your restraints, but the owner walks up to it and tries to calm it down.

Suggestions from the comments:
Option A: Prepare the roll of twine. When the beetle is close enough try to tie it's mandibles up. (Mark usage on roll of twine, DEX save to avoid getting bitten while tying its mandibles up)
Option B: Run from the beetle, looking for something to climb or hide under where the beetle can’t get to you.
>Try to help evacuate people from the area, avoiding the beetle as much as possible. Its owner probably has a better chance of calming it down, and plus, we don’t want too much involvement in this.
(prev post)
You decide to try and help get the other mice away from danger. As you run to help them get away, Chives decides to get its attention to hopefully keep it away from you.
(DEX save for initiative)

4 - Success
(Chives automatically succeeds her initiative roll, as frogs always automatically succeed initiative unless surprised)
Since both you and Chives succeed your initiative rolls, you both get to act before the beetle.
You run to the group of mice closest to the beetle to help them get away, putting yourself between them and the danger while also trying to keep your distance and usher them in the opposite direction.
"Hey, over here big guy!" yells Chives to distract the beetle from you, using her tongue to hit it from a distance to get its attention, doing 2 hp damage to it.
(Going to roll 1d6. 1-2: The beetle ignores Chives and runs to attack you. 3-6: the beetle runs to attack Chives)

Although annoyed by Chives' attack, the beetle decides to close the distance between it and you. Luckily, its huge mandible prevents it from moving very fast, so it doesn't manage to get close enough to attack you just yet.

Option B: Take Chives and go the opposite way. We can't afford getting hurt just before the heist.
Option C: Run towards the danger, as a brave little mouse should!
>Go wander the city with Chives
You say goodbye to Engelbert and decide to let chives guide you through the city. She steps out confidently, hopping along on the street. Her hops move her so fast that a times she has to stop and wait for you, but she doesn't seem to mind. She takes the chance to look all around ehr and take in the sights. She seems a little confused by the mess of planks, stairwells and ramps that composes the city's streets. "How do you guys not get lost in places like this? Frog cities are nicely laid out along the edge of a pond. Is like a labyrinth in here" she says. She doesn't seem to visit mouse cities very often." As you follow Chives around Stoneford's dizzying streets, suddenly you hear a loud commotion. It takes you a moment to realiza what's happening: Someone's pack beetle seems to be on a rampage, attacking random passers-by.

Sorry for the lack of updates btw. Those of you who follow my main blog know I haven't been doing so well in terms of mental health, and due to a couple unforeseen circumstances I've also been sorta struggling financially.

>I want to take the time to learn a little more about Chives and Englebert. Let them talk about themselves a little.
As the stranger leaves, you sit down with Engelbert and Chives, ready to find out more about their lives.
Both of them seem to be happy to have your company, but they also seem to have plans of their own.
"Olive, dear" Chives says "You're a pleasure to talk to, but I don't want to stay here all day... I was hoping to go see the city for a little bit before our meeting. But you're more than welcome to come with and we can talk all you want"
Engelbert shrugs "I want to go outside the city walls to pick herbs for a little while, but I don't mind the company either, it can get pretty monotonous out there anyway"

Votes are tied! Two hours to go
>"We have a deal, where and when shall we meet you?"
The stranger nods, shaking your hand with pleasure.
"My client will meet with you by the market in Middle Stoneford, behind Hyacinth's Gear and Sundries. That should leave you enough time to take care of anything you need to do before, right?" he says.
"We will both be ready to meet you back here with your when the job is done"
It's about 8am, so you and your companions have a couple of hours to do whatever before the meeting.
